This place used to be good but sadly the service and quality went down. I went for my routine eye exam and they gave me the wrong prescription. I let them know immediately but was told that I needed to use it to let my eyes adjust even though I TOLD THEM I COULD NOT SEE!!! I had to come back another week and see another doctor to get everything redone. Then waited 3 weeks for my glasses just to be told that there was something else wrong with them. Now im stuck waiting for another 2 weeks for something that should have been done right from the beginning. PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't come here. Went for a very much needed, past due eye exam! Wasn't sure what to expect since it'd been so long. I was promptly escorted to exam room, the exam was quick and the person assisting me was very nice and friendly (I wish I remembered her name, she was great!) Made me feel comfortable and made sure I understood everything. Dr. Tran was excellent! She makes sure to explain everything thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable and heard during the process. I was able to pick my glasses and start wearing contacts. Again, Dr. Tran helped me make the decision that was best for me and my lifestyle. On my second visit, I was able to take the contacts class which was very helpful! The front desk staff and the person assisting me through the class was pleasant and thorough. As I waited to be called, I witnessed multiple conversations happening with various customers. Many Spanish speakers whom were assisted in their language. They were smiling and seemed comfortable asking questions. The atmosphere was just very friendly, which is great! Overall, a great experience. I came in on a Saturday with an appointment and the place was pretty busy. I was like darn, this is going to take forever. But I was in and out in about 45 minutes! I was greeted when I walked in. They already had my paperwork ready for when I got there. The doctor was efficient, through, and kind. The lady who helped me pick out frames was lovely. She was patient, kind, and listened to me when I told her what I wanted in my new frames. My brought me maybe half a dozen to try. I ended up picking out 1 set of regular frames and another set of sunglasses that will be prescription. I like my glasses. They are super cute. They even gave me a case for my old pair. They said I'd get a text when my glasses come in. And they reminded me if they get loose or need adjustments I can always come in. My only caveat to my good experience was it was pretty pricey. Unbeknownst to me, I picked out 2 designer frames and lenses. Even with insurance it was like $500. I figure I use my eyes all tthe time so it's not a bad investment but I probably should of asked about it before I fell in love. read more

So I came here to re-do a vision/refraction test because my new pair of glasses were not very clear. The Asian optometrist that conducted the test gave me an attitude and seemed to be mad at me for some particular reason when I'm the one that should be mad considering I had to pay another $40 out of pocket to re-do the test and had to get off work early to get here. I came back to ensure the accuracy of the previous test, prioritizing my optical health. Didn't come back to make any one look bad. She even started comparing me to a blind person when talking about fluctuating vision. I left feeling like I was attacked and was in the wrong. Isn't the customer always first? Dr. Cheryl Tran is a rockstar, she makes you feel very comfortable and explains things in a way that makes me feel assured that I'm not going blind. Lol. Walter is also a gem he is very sweet and not pushy at all , he helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses within the pice range that my insurance would fully cover . I went to the Aspen Hill store to order lenses for my favorites frames on 1/6. As this was my first order/experience with My Eye Doctor, I was surprised to be asked to sign a waiver for using my own frames in case of breakage, but was assured that this never happens. Thinking that I understood the waiver, I reluctantly signed it. I was told that they should be back in a week, but no longer than two weeks, (again, this rarely happens). At the end of the 2 week period, I started calling for a status update. For 3 days I was told they would call and get back to me and they didn't. On the 4th day/call I insisted on holding while the lab was called. I was told they would be in on Friday. When Friday came and almost went I called again and was promised Monday for sure. Monday morning I received a call from My Eye Doctor saying that my frames had been broken and that I needed to come in to select new frames. No apology or recognition of the 3 weeks that had elapsed. I went in and selected new frames without any assistance being offered. The sales person started typing up the frames order and told me that it was less expensive to use my insurance than the store discount for the frames. I told her that I didn't expect to pay any more for the frames their lab had broken. Her immediate responses was, you signed a waiver. My understanding of said waiver was My Eye Doctor would offer a 50% discount of new frames if there was breakage and my insurance would cover the difference. She informed me that it was an either or situation - their discount, or my insurance, not both!!! While I considered walking at this point, I had just spent another hour selecting new frames. I am almost a month in, am wearing an old pair of glasses that are insufficient for night driving, have paid an additional $80 out of pocket for frames their lab broke, and am waiting again to see if their promise of expediting the new pair will be met. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with getting new glasses and will be my last with this store. Yup, called My Eye Dr a week later and was told it would be another week. The glasses had not been expedited. Terrible! Customer service was terrible and only increasing got worse. Sales representative was indifferent, not helpful, unprofessional and had an attitude. One pair of eye glasses costed $1164 which is over twice the cost from other stores. My mother and I were kept waiting 40-60 minutes for all the appointments. although we had a scheduled appointment. I intentionally chose Dr. Terry Kim since she spoke Korean so that she could communicate with my mother directly instead of me translating. Unfortunately, the exam was quick and incomplete. We were told the eyeglasses would arrive within 10-15 days. 13 days later, I went to pick up the eyeglasses only to discover that Dr. Terry Kim provided the wrong prescription. Terry Kim refused to assist and re-exam my mother, so we were told to return the following day and Dr. Adel Ibrahim, a senior optometrist, would re-exam my mother. Dr Ibrahim provided a different prescription. Instead of expediting the order since MyEyeDoctor personnel made the mistake, we were kept waiting an additional 14 days. Since no one contacted her after 2 weeks, my mother went to store to inquire about her eyeglasses where she was told that it would arrive by 4/18/24. It would take MyEyeDoctor 3 weeks to have the eyeglasses ready. I was furious so I went to the store the following day to find out why it would take 3 weeks and the sales manager, Nazareth, said it was because the lens were custom made. I pressed on and told her that the first eyeglasses with the wrong prescription, also custom made, arrived in 13 days! She went to the back room and returned and said my mother's eyeglasses would be arriving in the evening. It took 15 days for the eyeglasses to arrive where in fact, the decent thing to do was to have the eyeglasses expedited since MyEyeDoctor made the mistake initally and have it arrive within 3 days. I would never return to this store and will continue to warn others. Avoid MyEyeDoctor! Shop around for better prices. For their excessively high cost for the eyeglasses, customers deserve to have exams done properly by competent doctors who provide correct prescriptions, sales people who are helpful, friendly, and professional, and are respectful of the customer's time. read more

I visited this MyEyeDr location in a bit of a panic. My sort of new glasses had a badly bent ear piece due to my clumsy stupidity. To avoid completely breaking them I drove here. It is the closest store to my house. It turns out that the damage was worse than I thought. They couldn't be bent back into shape. Just last week I had been planning to go have them tightened up as they were getting loose and sliding down my nose. Thank God I had the warranty. I got it for a discount when I got my glasses at the Silver Spring store. I don't always get warranties! After confirming I had the warranty & that they had this more expensive brand name frame in stock it took less than 5 minutes to bring them out to me. They needed a lot of adjustment but 2 minutes later I walked out of the store being able to see the fine details of the world around me! My vision isn't great & I wear bifocals so sometimes seeing really really tiny print and close up stuff is still a challenge. I was glad that the associate was so helpful & good at her job. They claim to leave voice messages but not one single call from them shows up on my phone. If my information is on my chart, how can they claim I must see the same doctor. I would literally give zero stars if I could. I had a bad experience from the moment I walked in. The eye doctor was snappy, emotionless and rude. He told me not to be sleeping in my contacts (fair enough, I know I shouldn't be, but I was told it was okay occasionally by a different doctor), but the way he told me was so cold and harsh. It felt like his intention was to embarrass me. What a horrible feeling. Then the sales woman Julia acted like the could find me the perfect pair of glasses if she knew my style, and I had JUST shown her a picture of the exact shape I liked. Talk about lack of intelligence. So she and I got into it a bit and I informed her I would be purchasing my lenses and glasses elsewhere. She told me I have to wait for the trials to arrive for my contact prescription to be released by the doctor. Fast forward two weeks to now.. I called to ask about the status of my trials. THEY WERE NEVER ORDERED. After I paid $150 out of pocket for my exam why would somebody not order the trials, in my opinion it was done out of spite. Thanks Julia, so I spoke to their "customer relations representative" and I'm waiting to hear back. I have only ever been to this location, but here I am blind and angrier than I was before. I came this morning for my annual eye exam. Initially I was impressed that when I came in they gave me a new mask to change the one I am using. I am wearing a regular mask on top of my N95, common practice for me working in the hospital. When she noticed that I am wearing N95, she wanted me to change it to a single regular mask. I told them that I just want to protect myself and them and that I can get a NEW N95 that is still sealed and change in front of her, but the associate said that I can't because that is their policy and that the doctor can't see me. It doesn't make sense to me when the area where she had me do my vision check is 2 FEET AWAY from the table where one associate is TALKING to another customer. DON'T THEY KNOW that the new variants of COVID, UK and African, are already here in Maryland which are 50-70% more transmissible that even CDC is recommending double mask????? My husband, my 3 kids and I have been going here in MyEyeDr Aspen Hill every year for about 10 years or so now, because we were very comfortable with them, but I think that stopped today. read more

I've been going to My Eye Dr. for a few years now and I've always had a good experience up until this week. The lady that did the eye pressure testing on me told me that my "copay" was $49. I told her it was more than it had been in the past. She said that it was because "everything is going up." She then proceeded to take the digital retinal imagining photos. I thought this was strange, because in the past I was ASKED if I wanted this and it was explained that it was an additional cost. I was not asked this time. If I had been asked, I would have said no, since I was sure I had gotten it the year before. When I looked at my invoice later, it stated that my copay was $10 and that the photos were $44. So to me, it comes off as I was tricked into paying for the photos that I was NOT given the option to decline. And then the lady that I saw at the end who processed my payment looked annoyed that I didn't order contacts or buy any glasses. I never had an issue with My Eye Dr. before. But I won't be coming back next year and I won't be ordering my contacts or glasses from them. I don't support dishonest businesses that try to take advantage of their customers. read more

I have been a customer for many years and just got two new pairs of glasses. The eye exam was thorough and accurate. Jamie the GM double checked my results and made sure my prescription was accurate - both far and near sighted. I had a pair of sunglasses made with progressive lens (so I could see the dash board and map while driving). I feel they do a great job and always adjust my glasses as needed. Setting up my exam online was quick and easy. I was able to enter in all pertinent personal and insurance information, cutting down on time spent filling out forms upon my arrival. The multiple reminders about my appointment time from the receptionist were helpful as well. Greeted upon entering, I have nothing but compliments for the reception staff. Getting an eye exam from Dr. AuYeung, or Dr. Chung (I've seen both at yearly exams) at MyEyeDr. is quick, easy, and most importantly thorough. Both Doctors are very knowledgeable, patient, and answer every question, or concern you may have regarding your vision. Top notch. In my opinion, where MyEyeDr. really shines is the service provided by their sales staff. Julie, in particular, stands out for me as one of the best. She was very patient and helpful during my eyeglass purchasing experience. Being picky about my glasses, Julie was extremely helpful in finding the perfect "nerdy black plastic" frames I was looking for. She explained the costs of everything in detail and I had no concerns about being cheated, or "hidden costs". Further, anytime I've needed an adjustment, cleaning, or some of those handy cleaning cloths I just pop in and they are more than happy to help me out. A little added bonus, in my opinion! The doctor was great! He was straightforward and friendly. The entire appointment was quick and to the point. However, the receptionist seemed unknowledgeable. The thing that I minded the most was that she asked that I remove my contacts for the pretesting portion (normal) then had me blindly feel my way back out to the store/waiting area while I waited another 20 minutes for the actual doctor's appointment. Then I blindly felt my way back when they called my name. Luckily there were a lot of other customers in the store that helped me out. This process should be changed somehow. The sales associate tried to talk me out of the promotion that I came in for (the $99 contact lens package) because he said he was saving me more money with a different deal. He was very mistaken. I came and picked them up. the following week i went with my wife do her eye exam and get glasses,keep in mind that it took me 4 days to get my glasses ready, i have myopia and astigmatism. My wife did her eye exam and chose her glasses, she did not fall in any suggestion to add anything to the glasses ect... i was there so i told them she just want the regular glass that were for 99 dollars . i dont know who ever that lady we were talking with was but ,seeing that we did not want any extra option on my wife glasses she got mad. I asked her when her glasses would be ready she said : 10 (TEN) DAYS !!!! but if she add any of the option she listed before "anti whatever" and insurance she could get them ready in the NEXT HOUR. now thing about it, i have problems on my both eyes, i had my glasses in 4 days my wife has only myopia on only 1 eye , her glasses will be ready in 10 days... simply because we refused to buy her lies? until today now 8 days , no news from my eye doctors, i had a bill of $138 im even thinking about lawsuit them. read more

I finally used my living social voucher and went there for my very first eye exam. The experience was great. A lot better than I had imagined. Dr. Chung made me feel comfortable and knew exactly what I was talking about despite my long-winded descriptions, she was sharp, quick and efficient. I also appreciated Raul A LOT. He was incredibly informative and articulate in explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the eyeglass features and I really appreciated that. I mean, I probably would have gone for the plastic ones if I didn't know any better... What is more, I appreciated the fact that he catered to my needs and worked with me each step of the way. I also liked the fact that he respectfully expressed his opinions and had lots of personal experience wearing glasses. The other staff members were also very professional and helpful as well. I really appreciate individuals who are genuine and people-oriented- overall, it was a very good experience! We've used this My Eye Dr. in the past because they're the closest to us, and been underwhelmed with the service, but not to the level I have been with this most recent visit. We went in and they did a quick exam for my daughter- the doctor was kind and professional, a bit abrupt but it seemed like she might have just been busy. We brought our own frames in, because our insurance doesn't cover them, and the person helping us really tried to upsell on lenses- it was borderline pushy but she was still nice enough. We were told it would take two weeks for the glasses. About 10 days in, I called, to see if they were in early, and the woman on the phone was cheerful and kind and happy to look up my order and tell me the expected arrival date was still at the 14 day mark. I called the evening before, to check once again, and a different lady helped me- less friendly than the first but still accommodating. The 14 day mark comes and goes, and I call again- at this point thinking the glasses MUST be in now. I call to inquire the lady helping me is rude- when I say I'm calling to see if they're ready, she replied with "well, did you get a text??" I told her I hadn't- that I didn't even know I'd receive a text when they were ready, I was simply going by the date I was told. She then decides to help me, and says the glasses aren't there- and maybe they'll be in this week. I wait a couple more days, and call again- at this point its been 20 days since we ordered these glasses. I bought frames online- so I can't just take them elsewhere, because they already have them. The lady who answered sounded like I was inconveniencing her by asking her to look up the order- she then came back to tell me the glasses are "delayed" and they have no expected date. This is ridiculous, considering I've ordered glasses online that arrive in a matter of days. These are necessary for my daughter to see- but there was a total lack of empathy from the person helping me. God forbid we didn't have the resources to get a brand frame- if we hadn't, our daughter would have been glasses-less for weeks, if mot longer. No real explanation why this is happening. I've never waited this long for glasses from a my eye dr ever. Wholly unsatisfied with both the experience and the customer service- would rather take the tome to travel farther out for a better experience next time. read more

I used a Living Social deal, paying $35 for $210 credit towards a pair of glasses at MyEyeDr. While the quality of service is perfectly fine and the people are friendly at the Aspen hill location, I found MrEyeDr's glasses' prices to be pretty ridiculously high. That largely defeats the Living Social "deal." I ended up paying about $300 out of pocket (AFTER the Living Social credit) for glasses with a few basic lense features that pretty much everyone is going to buy (unless you would like to wear coke bottle glasses). If you shop around within the store, you could probably find cheaper frames than mine, but still expect to pay about $200 out of pocket even with the LS deal. So I ended up paying around $335 for a checkup and glasses. I'm not sure if that's an outright bad deal, but it sure didn't feel like a good one. Later on, I came back in for an adjustment, and they fixed up the frames in a blink. read more

Yea, No more dilation eye drops for an eye exam. +1 Sell Sell Sell -3 First went to the Falls Church location because they have a retinal camera and they agreed I could have a have a data copy of the picture, But the pictures came out too dark. After 3 emails they said they would give me credit for another set of pictures, but I've moved on to another Location since then. At the new location, they would not honor the credit from the old location, I paid again and had to go back 5 times before they could give me a disk with my data. Even twice in one day with a crowded parking lot packed with an antique car show. What they say on the phone and what happens when you get there is completely screwed up. So, when I went back for an eye exam and for some reason they skipped the dilation drops which is fine with me but I'm sure it's not the best medical practice, A quick 10-second sweep of both eyes and I was given a thumbs up. If you have insurance do NOT go here, I spent over 180.00 for regular single vision workstation glasses. You better off buying one of their coupons. read more

I really appreciated the service here for the most part. My initial appointment for an eye exam was quick and the front desk person and doctor were very nice and helpful. I came a week later as my glasses were ready for pickup right before closing and one of the ladies who sits at the smaller desk beside the counter glared at me from the time I walked in until I made my way to the counter. As I stood at the front came waiting for the front desk clerk to finish speaking to someone the same lady came to the computer in front of me and said very loudly something about closing. I didn't hear her so asked her what was that? She rolled her eyes and the front desk clerk told her to hush and asked me how she could help. I told her I came to pick up my glasses, which took her about 1 minute to grab and bring to me. Meanwhile the other lady shouted something about them closing again while laughing and making it obvious she was directing her comments towards me in front of the other customers and employees that were there, after which she left. Perhaps more training should be done on customer service etiquette and treatment of customers. Regardless, if someone comes in when a business opens or when it's about to close you do not have employees treat customers this way! Business hours are business hours people. I won't be coming here again although I did have an overall great experience. Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth as Im sure it did for others who saw. We just came from this place with my mother who does not speak English. When I made her first appointment in this location, I added that information that she needs "Spanish translation" however, she was never offered translation services. I didn't hesitate to help my mom and I translated for her to have the worst of services ever. Never make your appointment with Dr. Crystal Lee. Today she was not in a good mood since She only wanted YES or NO answers without listening to my mother concerns and no letting me finish translating, hurrying us even though I asked him to please go more slowly since my mother has poor literacy. Many times Dr. Lee makes us feel uncomfortable by saying that she is the doctor and that she already knew everything, without listening us. I asked her to speak to the supervisor and she said that there was no supervisor because she is the doctor. I've been a customer since 2005. I've had a few bad experiences but somehow their charm to excuse their mistakes was most honorable. At least they took responsibility HILLARY! I needed ballistic eye wear for an upcoming deployment. Long story short, one of the employees was responsible for cleaning the back room. He threw away the glasses that I showed up to pick up. I was unable to get the prescription eyewear prior to deploying OCONUS. While overseas, I called from Afghanistan to ask for my prescription, so that I may order something locally. DENIED! My pain your gain. Ok, I'll cut right to my issue with this business. Corporate greed. Dr Lee's exam was very comfortable and thorough. She displayed a pleasant experience and knowledge beyond what her tender age suggest. The staff was equally as pleasant. The rub for me began after the eye exam. When Dr Lee personally escorted me to the Sales Manager which began the most excruciating used cars salesmanship I have seen in some time. Even with insurance I was negotiating down from over two hundred and fifty dollars for a single pair of computer glasses. I knew from the start something was wrong with this picture. I told the Manager I needed to think about this deal and in typical used car fashion I got the "we'd like to close this deal today, lets see if we can't knock a few dollars off to close the deal". I kept waiting for another sales agent to be sent over as a "closer" The whole sales process seemed entirely too predatory. I asked for a copy of my prescription to keep my options open and the Sales Manager acted as if he never heard me. I asked again and was informed they keep it onsite for future visits (I did say a copy) . I did finally (exhaustively) purchase a pair of 250 plus computer glasses. Been a customer now for 3 years. I was offered coffee from Gabby she is awesome. Dr. Adel Ibrahim has a great personality which made me feel comfortable during the exam. He is very knowledgeable, patient ,and smart. Would not change them for the world. Great job guys!!! read more
