Excessive wait times then finally sat down to be helped. Then we were told another employee would help. She was attentive for about 15 minutes and personable. Then a family of four came in and the employee took care of them... never explaining the delay or anything. We waited over 25 minutes and I went to tell her we could not wait longer and she said it would be a few more minutes. We agreed to wait and then she told us that the first person who helped us would now help. I did not want to be passed from one person to another so told them we would not go forward with them. I asked that our insurance authorization be cancelled. She agreed. One day later we have come to learn that she did not cancel the authorization which is an inconvenience and disappointment. This is a great place. I could not recommend it more. Michael is extremely customer orientated. Not in a push way but a really helpful, friendly way. I got my glasses here and I'm very pleased with them. Recently, I had a major crisis when I broke my glasses on the Sunday evening before I had to fly to Mexico for work. BUYER BEWARE. My optometrist recommended an optician at Eye See. I ordered new progressive lenses for my existing frames on April 27. Everything that could go wrong did. When the lenses came in after two weeks, Eye See's optometrist called to say that they had not been made correctly and that she would request the lab to expedite the new lenses. More than two weeks later (which is not what I would call expedited), I picked up the new lenses. Immediately, I said that distance and reading seemed fine, but that the mid-range seemed off. The optician told me that I just needed to look up a bit. After trying them for a week, I took them to another optician to compare the measurements with my old lenses. This second set of lenses had also been made wrong; they were off 2 millimeters in one eye and 1 millimeter in the other. Those are substantial differences in progressive lenses. I returned the lenses and asked for a refund on a Monday. Three days later, I had to call to remind Eye See to refund my money. They did. Now two months later, I have ordered lenses with my new prescription elsewhere. read more

I am never going back here again. I have visited twice and both times they have tried to upsell me. In my first visit, I was very clear that I wanted to do an eye check-up and contact fitting, both covered by my eye insurance. The eye doctor pressured me into a daily contact fitting but did not tell me that this specific type of contact wasn't covered by my insurance. They then tried to over-charge me $120 for the contact fitting and eye check-up, which should have only costed $70. After insisting that the charges could not be correct, the receptionists admitted that they made a mistake and lowered it to $110. I spoke up again and said it wasn't correct and they lowered it again to $90, claiming that they were new and didn't know what they were doing, and did not apologize for it. By that point, I was so tired of arguing, I just paid and left. When I visited today to pick up my eye prescription, I asked if they would be able to replace the lenses in my current glasses (only 2 years old). The receptionist told me that they were "super old" and pressured me to buy a new pair of frames. When I said I wasn't interested, she said it would take 2-3 weeks to replace the lenses. I ended up going to Pearle Vision in Wheaton and had a much more pleasant experience. They were able to order my lenses and will replace them on Wednesday during a 30 minute appointment. No pressure to buy a new pair of glasses when my frames were perfectly fine. read more

I just can't say enough good things about both Dr. Barbra Johnson and Mr. Mike Crawford and their staff...so professional! My entire family has been going here for several years after receiving eye care from various others and we are so happy to have found this wonderful practice. I have never had a more thorough and informative eye exam in my life! Dr. Johnson is such a caring, bright and well educated doctor. I feel she is a genuine partner with me to insure I get the best care for my eyes for life. Mr. Mike Crawford is wonderful in helping you choose the perfect eyewear for you. He is so pleasant to deal with and outstanding at helping you choose the right products for you. I have to admit I am so picky and it is hard for me to make a decision on frames but that has never once been a problem at this practice. They have a terrific selection of great looking frames and high quality no matter your budget. I have observed him working with various clients and some can be so difficult to please but he remains steadfast in his desire to make sure the customer is pleased and well taken care of. The staff at the front desk will also take care of everything with your insurance and bill. They also are helpful if you need a second opinion on frames. Eye See takes care of everything for you. I have never felt pressured or ignored by anyone in this practice even when they have an office full of patients. When my husband passed away in April 2013 I received a lovely sympathy card from them lovingly signed by each of them...I will never forget their kindness and sweet gesture! I always walk out of their office feeling better and with a smile on my face. I feel so cared for and pampered by them...it is such a pleasure to count on them for my eye care for life! To the customer that complained about noise, that kidsplay store is gone and such poor taste for you to discredit this business that has no control over who moves in next door...just like in any neighborhood! As far as your other remarks you appear to be an unhappy person in general and I recommend you count your blessings and get over yourself! read more

I recently started coming here after seeing good reviews on Yelp. I enjoyed my experience and anticipate I will be back. Something that was very appealing was they open late. I didn't have to go into work late or leave work early. I came straight from work, got in, had my questions answered and had a thorough exam and picked out some nice glasses. There was not a long wait time. Maybe five minutes max and that was transitioning from the previous client leaving and me filling out paperwork. In the past, I get nervous picking out glasses. There are so many to choose from. Other places I have been to don't seem to have someone who knows or will be comfortable telling you what looks good on you or what doesn't look good. I'm used to being told to pick a bunch and the employee left me alone and I probably made some bad frame choices in the past. This experience was different. Mike asked me if I wanted some suggestions and I did. He was not pushy about it. When I tried on some and asked for his suggestion, he didn't tell me I looked hideous but had a nice way of saying he preferred another option more. It was a nice experience. I didn't feel rushed despite it being time to close. I had enough time to really pick what I wanted and wasn't pressured any one way or the other. My boyfriend is in the market for new glasses and was thinking of going to Lenscrafters, but I have already began marketing for this place. Nice place, and nice, professional and educated staff. This place is great. I've been coming to Eye See Optical for the last few years. Dr. Johnson is thorough and patient during her eye exams, and is happy to explain your prescription to you. Mike is amazing. He's quite likely the hardest-working person I know. I'm pretty sure he's been there every single time I've done there for an eye exam, to look at glasses, get adjustments, etc. He's very good at what he does, and is friendly and patient as you look at frames. The last time I was there I was looking at frames with my wife for a while before I asked Mike to come over and help me. By that time I had already picked out a handful of frames I wanted to try on. When Mike came over I told him roughly what I was looking and he proceeded to pick out almost exactly the same set I had picked out myself, with a few more interesting selections that I missed (one of which I ended up buying). I see other reviews saying the selection isn't spectacular. That may be- I don't really have much to compare it to. It has just as wide of selection as any other place I've gone. And to be honest, any more choices and I'd really be overwhelmed. Glasses can only come in so many shapes and sizes before they all start looking the same. I don't live in the White Flint area, but I still drive down to Eye See Optical every time I need glasses. read more
