I love this office. This year is my 2nd year here and I am never disappointed. It was super easy to make appointments, and even rescheduling was easy as well. They had time slots in the times I needed. The front desk staff is quick to say hello and help with paperwork. I love the woman who performs the pre-exam stuff (like the air puff). She's very nice and chatty. The doctor I saw was super nice and friendly and knows her stuff. She's great! They accept insurance which is wonderful and they're great about helping pick out the best stuff for you. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this optical store. They charged me a final amount that was more than triple the reasonable market price for the same brand and lens type, even after billing the insurance for the maximum possible coverage and adding excessive additional charges specifically on the lenses. The lenses delivered were of noticeably poor quality: inferior materials, low precision, and significant manufacturing defects, while the invoice submitted to the insurance described much higher specifications. Delivery was delayed by several weeks with repeated false promises and changes to the pickup date without justification. The staff was unprofessional, dismissive, and rude throughout the process. This pattern strongly suggests intentional overbilling of insurance companies while providing significantly inferior products to patients -- a practice that may constitute insurance fraud and/or deceptive acts under Virginia law (§ 59.1-200). I strongly recommend anyone who experienced similar treatment to preserve all documents and file a formal complaint with the Virginia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section and/or their insurance provider. read more

This MyEyeDr, unlike others, consistently pushes purchasing glasses and/or contacts from them when the patient insists on only needing an eye exam (and/or when the script doesn't change). It's a very uncomfortable experience. My most recent visit, my glasses prescription was wrong, but my contacts prescription was correct. Upon alerting them of the concern, I was asked to come back in ans pay for a "re-exam". I will not be returning to the MyEyeDr. in Centreville. The wait is long and the stress is always high. read more

Very poor Customer service and organization. I made an appt on Thursday for today. When I got there, there was no record of my appt (which I took off of work for). No "I apologize for the mix up." No "can we reschedule?" Not even any eye contact or pleasantries. This happened after I decided to give them another chance after they gave me crooked glasses last year, and couldn't fix despite 2 follow up visits. They actually told me they weren't crooked. Ended up having to return the glasses and taking my prescription elsewhere for glasses. Didn't get an apology then either. My family and I will not be back! read more

I usually go to the MyEyeDr in Fairfax Corner or Vienna, but they had Aug blocked for medical stuff for the back to school kids. So the Fairfax Corner place gave me a number to call a general Ophthalmologist, but this business only saw Retinas. They also said no other MyEyeDr had any openings when they looked. So I googled Optometrist near me. The MyEyeDr in Centreville popped up. I called them and they had an opening for the next day. I went to see Dr Tran. She was not overly friendly. She answered my questions but not overly friendly. Then she prescribed me a prescription for something that my insurance didn't cover. I called over to see if she could give me an alternative prescription. She did. The front staff said they'd fax it over. It took so long, 45 min. No fax yet while waiting in CVS. So I called back over, and the front desk staff said they faxed it. I just left CVS and retrieved my prescription and drove back over to CVS. It took soooo long for all of it. I feel frustrated with the whole process. The job got done. But it was not a great experience. I just had another bad experience with the Fairfax Corner MyEyrDr last month with my daughter. I took my father to get the lenses replaced with his latest prescription on May 4, 2024. They said it would take approximately two weeks, which seemed standard. However, two weeks passed without any updates. I didn't receive a call or text, so I called on May 30th to ask for an update. The receptionist, Justin, claimed he had sent numerous text messages and questioned if my phone was in service, even though I was calling from the number listed on my father's account. Justin then said the lenses were ready and we could bring in the glasses for replacement. We went in today, June 1, only to be told the lenses had been misplaced. Additionally, we waited in their office for over an hour. This experience has shown me that they are incompetent, disorganized, and failed to deliver a service I waited a month for. I would highly discourage anyone from coming to this location. read more

Do not use these guys!! My daughter ordered eyeglasses and contacts. Went to pick up glasses and found out her contacts were sitting on the counter for 2 weeks. and no one decided to let us know. Next my son ordered a replacement pair of eyeglasses. 3 weeks later we were told they arrived. However they were the complete wrong prescription. Reordered them went in today after yet another 2 week wait it's the Wrong prescription AGAIN. No apologies or anyone owning up to this continuing mistake. So now over two months later we are praying our son gets his glasses. Look at all the other negative reviews to this Centreville location!!! HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!! So after yet, another two weeks of waiting guess what... The prescription is wrong again !!!! The original order that we paid for was supposed to have transitional lenses. Well, they got the prescription right but they don't have the transitional lenses. They said oops we must have missed that. . Do not use these guys . I seldom gripe about anything, but these guys are awful. It should not take the better part of 2+ months to get a replacement pair of glasses that we paid the insurance to cover. this is ridiculous. read more

not a fan of this place. the Drs are very good once you get to one, but the staff at the desk are not attentive to customers and keep you waiting while they answer the phone or type away on the computer. I had a noon appt but was not seen for step one of the exam until 12:30, then another 15 Min before I saw the Dr. I was told that my contact lens eye exam would be $99 by the person at the desk, when my bill was totaled at the end of the visit it was $99 + $165 for contact lens fitting. In addition the sales people put the hard sell on everything post appt telling you the inexpensive options are not good enough. While this is my first yelp review, This is our families third bad experience with this place so we will not be trying again. read more

The people at the front desk don't seem to like their job and are annoyed with people in general. The guy walks around doing nothing when there are no customers to fit for glasses. Interesting as I sit next to two glass cases with tons of dust - very dirty. Get off your phones, talking and at least look busy. Not worth the hassle...I've had to call 8-10 times for 2 months to obtain my contacts. Each time they say they will call me back and I have never received a call from them. I've been going to various MyEyeDr locations over the years since I've moved around. This location is super convenient to where I live and I tried to go here a couple years ago but this location didn't accept my insurance at the time. Now with new insurance, I made an appointment and thought everything would run smoothly. The parking lot is very hard to maneuver because it's pretty tight. The inside of the office isn't huge either so there aren't specific "separate" waiting and consultation areas. The doctor that I saw was pretty nice and personable but the staff seemed incompetent to me. When the representative was checking into my vision benefits, he sounded unsure when he was telling me what was covered. I asked to get a price match on my contacts with the price from Costco (since this chain is known to price match) and he asked me if I wanted to pay that (lower) price instead. Of course I do that's why I asked??? I still had some boxes of contacts at home so I called back a few months later to order my yearly supply of contacts on the phone. When I came to pick them up, it turns out the same representative only ordered me 6 months worth. He "fixed" the mistake by giving me a discount on purchasing the rest but it was still an inconvenience. ***TLDR; I work in health care and I have to say that I've noticed PLENTY of HIPAA violations in this office. The staff will leave patients' charts pulled up on their screens and walk away without locking their computers. Other patrons can clearly see patients' sensitive health and personal information. Please train the staff better.*** Time for me to find a different office. read more

I am very unhappy with employee not even reaching out to my eyebenefit discount program which I was told works in addition to primary insurance. I was told that they would only except one insurance. It ended up that I received a discount of 40% without using my insurance which still ended up being a lot of money. I would not recommend this location or use them again. My experience at this location was just...ok. I was thankful that they had an appointment the same day that I called, however that's when things felt less "personal." Weirdly, there were a large number of people that were working at this location that didn't seem to be doing much, however the front desk attendants were very polite! When I went to do all the initial tests the technician that was administering these tests just mumbled through the entire ordeal and it felt like she just wanted to be done with her day. When I eventually met with Dr. Mojgan Haghshenas, she also seemed like she wanted to hurry through the process. It was probably the most impersonal doctor/patient relationship I've every experienced and she even took a phone call in the middle of my exam (which took only 7ish minutes). When my exam was over, the costs weren't explained very clearly, specifically what my insurance would pay for and what I ended up paying. I paid and was given a receipt, but nothing else. I had to go back in and ask for my prescriptions and an itemized invoice. In summary: a very strange and impersonal experience which wouldn't necessarily warrant a return to this location. read more

I tried to go on the website to see where I could reach a customer service line but found nowhere to express the experience I had today. Zeshan has the worse customer service I ever had to deal with in a Dr's office. His attitude and inability to work through the issue at hand is unexplainable. Thank you to Amanda who politely asked some questions to assist me in what was going on. Which was my 10 year old daughters appointment was somehow cancelled by the "call center". She was able to go into the system and SEE that an appointment was made earlier in the week by someone at the office and then at 10am the morning of someone cancelled it. How bazaar is that. Someone cancelled the appt without notification??? Zeshan could've did the same thing but instead wants to be rude. Keep Amanda around because she seems to know EVERYTHING and helped most of the staff during our visit. Justin the office manager then came out to assist and apologize for the confusion and found a Way to make it right! (As he should). Thank you This has Been a difficult transition for All eyes. Make sure you absolutely know your insurance plan and what is and isn't covered because they will do whatever it takes to add, add, and add charges! The doctors/exam are as expected, but it's once you go out to pay where you need to be on high alert. To maximize my benefits, I decided to do my eye exam and contact fitting exam here but buy my contact lenses out-of-network, but the moment I expressed that, the demeanor of the lady working with me instantly changed. Red flag. But when I asked for a copy of my prescription they did so incredibly reluctantly. Doctors are nice and staff is friendly for the most part but overall they are very disorganized. Initially ordered glasses on 2/5 and over a month later I finally get a call saying the glasses are ready and I could come in to pick them up, and they where the wrong pair. No big deal we could just get the pair that we ordered, but they did not have the frames in the store nor did they enter the model number into their system, so they had no idea what the correct frames where. No apology for the not knowing what happened to the glasses and any sign trying to make it right. She just wanted us to pick out another pair of glasses. We quickly looked and did not see anything so I ask for a refund and they said that it is "Company Policy" that they can only refund as a check. None of their receipts state this supposed policy. If you need glasses done efficiently and correctly I would not go to this MyEyeDr location. Any other optometrist in the area would be better. You can get your exams here but don't waste your time ordering you glasses here, but you might get lucky or not really care what you get. read more

Let me start by saying the doctor was great to work with. But it was not worth all the hassle. I ordered my glasses and contacts and was told they'd be ready in 5-7 days and they would give me a call when I should come and pick up. No call. I waited over a week and finally called... they forgot to tell me the glasses were ready, but contacts are not in yet. I waited a few more days, no call to pick up the contacts so I call. They lost the order. They assure me they're going to place it *right now,* the contacts will be there in a few days and I'll get a call to pick them up. Guess what? No call. I call back again a week later, no record of the order anywhere. I give up, am looking elsewhere. As nice as the doctor is, it's just not worth the hassle of having to constantly call and STILL end up with no contacts! read more

My wife and I came here to get glasses for myself and contact lenses for her. We have been here before and we only go here because it's convenient to the house and work place. Our appointment was for August 30, 2019. Surprisingly, the eye exams all went smoothly as well as the purchase of the glasses and contact lenses. And after spending almost $900, the gentleman that took our order said the glasses would be in 5-7 business days and the contact's would be sent to the house. Fast forward a week and the contacts come in. The glasses however, are a different story. It is Sept. 17, 2019 and I have yet to receive my glasses. I called on Sept. 12, 2019 and the person I spoke with on the phone stated that there was a delay in getting the frames to the lab and that they should be getting the glasses by Sept. 16th. So today on Sept. 17th at 3:10pm, I call to see the status of my glasses and they still don't know when they are coming. The answer "maybe tomorrow". Needless to say, I am not a happy customer. I guess this place does great customer service when they take your money but could care less after you leave. If you read all the reviews and the answers from the "owner" on google, it says they "strive to get orders ready, in a timely manner while keeping the patient informed of the status during the process." Um no, you don't. But thanks for the cut and paste reply. So "Samantha" the manager called me and gave me another reason why my glasses are late. That they apparently got shipped to the Clarendon location and will be here tomorrow. This place is great for making excuses. I need to get a hold of their training manual as they seem to have excuses coming out every time I speak with someone from this place. So today, Sept. 18th the person that replied below called me to hear my displeasure with this location. My basic reply to her was that no one likes to be lied to. If it's delayed then tell me the real reason, even if it makes you look bad, I'll respect you for your honesty rather than lie and me not wanting to do business with you again. Booked an appointment 1 month in advance. Wanted Monday 12/26- but the scheduler said books were not opened yet for that day and put me in for the 27th stating that the appointment will be adjusted for the 26th. Called to confirm the day before and sure enough- non of that was true. I had to fight my way to get the 26th scheduled as originally requested a month in advance! Went in for an exam on the 26th. Was scammed to do the retina testing without being informed of the additional cost. Called today for status of eye glasses and was told it won't arrive until1/13. 3 weeks wait for a pair of standard eye glasses is NOT ok, not informing clients of procedures that would cost additional and proceeding any way is double not ok. Worst customer service ever! Their online system messed up our confirmation even though we received the confirmation 'we'll see you at your appointment' message the day before! Once we arrived, the staff had no knowledge of our appointment and then made us wait for over an hour. They even did the patient intake, but we watched everyone else walk right in. When I finally asked the staff why we were watching others being seen before us, they said they would ask the doctor. Their system is messed up, they totally ignored us, no one said we would have to wait or that they were sorry this is going to take a while. If they were going to work us in, we should have been notified and then been seen sooner rather than later, but they made us wait and no one said a word. We've been coming here for years, but will not return! This location has gone down hill tremendously and lacks great customer service! Oh and the doctor could care less! read more

Had one of the best experiences today with my son. It had been a while since we've visited this office. New doctor! She was absolutely wonderful with great bed side manners. Something that is rarely seen nowadays. From the time we checked in to filling out the paperwork it was seamless! We were very comfortable bc it wasn't super busy and everyone is still masked so that put us at ease. My sons apt was first and mine was for later in the day, however when I asked if I can be see sooner, Amanda said she would try to fit me in and it worked out that Doctor Polin Lay was able to see me at the same time as my son's. She is the first Cambodian doctor that I am aware of in the Centreville area so I am happy to support her and her team. I did not feel rushed at all at any time. The person who helped us check out and find new glasses for my son was extremely helpful as well, I'm sorry that I did not get your name. She helped us tremendously with figuring out the paperwork and our insurance plan as far as what was covered for my son and I. I am so happy and satisfied that my family and I have found a new place for our eye needs, you all have no idea...thank you again Dr. Lay! read more

First of all the wait? The receptionist was sweet but you come on time you should get seen on time! The eye dr herself was very nice, but afterwards ordering contacts/glasses was the worst experience ever! The manager of the store looks like a dweeb who just wants to take all of your money. My insurance somehow didn't cover practically anything? He kept pressing me to buy 2 years worth of contacts after I kept telling him no. He was also rushing me the whole experience. After I decided not to purchase frames from them. I called to get my prescription faxed to me, the first two times I did not get anything. The guy said he would get back to me later, and fax it to me as soon as possible. Two days later I call back and ask for my prescription and they tell me I did not sign a release form and I have to pick it up myself?? Are you kidding me? Their check-up was good, however they were not honest at all about the timeliness of their products. After i got my exam I needed to get glasses and was going to go somewhere close-by where they had my lenses on hand. They assured me they would have my glasses ready the following day after I stressed how important for my job it is that I have eye glasses (I broke my previous ones). After convincing me after a few minutes that my glasses would be ready the following day I decided to purchase them. i call them the next day and the person picking up the phone says my order hasn't even been placed and if he was to place it that day it would be in 2-3 days later. So 3 days passed and nothing, they said they would call right back after they checked and again...nothing. I'm on the 4th day and they promised they would call back to tell me the status of the work on my glasses shortly. A few hours have gone by and what do you know...nothing. I've been very unproductive at work (i'm a designer) because I haven't been able to see and it is making me look bad doing my job. Very unsatisfied with their service! read more

I went here for my last eye exam and my GOODNESS it was the worst experience EVER. One of the guys was so amazingly rude to my brother I was appalled. He was condescending and one time when he (he was 16 at the time) didn't understand what the guy was saying, this man put his hand on my brother's head and pushed it down, like he was making my little brother "nod" in agreement. They were rude to me, gave me the wrong order and when I went back to ask them about it, they tried to lie their way out of having to go through any more trouble. I made them CHECK my folder to confirm their mistake and they FINALLY acknowledged they did something wrong. Please go somewhere else. My experience was so horrible, I stormed out. You can ask for your prescription without buying contacts or frames. It's the law!!!! A female older associate lied to my face about my insurance not covering a second part unless I paid for at least one pair of contacts. I didn't believe her but she kept on and on. I know when I'm being ripped off. I called my insurance up and she suddenly realized "she was putting it in the system wrong." I felt like I was at a car dealership. So I casually dropped in one evening just looking for new frames. It's been two years since I had an eye exam and since I changed frames so I figured it was time to update my glasses. I cam in 10 mins after they were supposed to be closed but Aaron the manager was kind enough to let me walk around and window shop some glasses while he finished up with his last customer. I wanted to look at some Nike frames which he then assisted me with. I really liked them so figured that I would shop here. I wasn't sure what insurance I had since I hadn't used it before so Aaron worked out a deal as if I didn't have insurance and threw in some great savings... 20% off the frames, free warranty, free AR coat, % off on lenses and the exam. over all he told me when everything was said and done it would be no more then $325 for Nike frames, lenses and eye exam if my insurance didn't cover more.... So my appointment was for the next day during my lunch hour. I arrived got checked in, filled out the paperwork and was see by a tech who got a base line on my eyes and took some additional test. I'm pretty sure that I checked no on a box asking if I wanted to pay for additional pictures of my eyes but she said that I didn't. she said they would knock off $7 so I said ok. The Doctor was professional, checked my eyes, upped my prescription and sent me on my way. I went to go check out and since I had already picked out some frames it was supposed to be simple. I did want them to check and see if my insurance was going to save me any. They said no that the offer they made was cheaper but after reviewing my plan further (after I paid) I think they were wrong that I would have saved more (my fault for not being an educated consumer). So they said that it would take a week for them to arrive (if not sooner). They offered to send me a text when they were ready so I said that was fine. Ok so i edited this review.... There were some issues with getting my glasses on time. The frames broke when installing the lenses... My Eye Dr. could have been better about communicating it and they realized that. They offered me a pair of prescription sunglasses to make up for there mistake. As a consumer I appreciate it when a business makes the effort to keep me happy and to continue to earn my business. Aaron the manager was very helpful in helping me pick out a great pair of sunglasses in keeping up with current trends. When I went to go pick up my prescription sunglasses I had my 7 year old goddaughter with me. They also gave her a free pair of kid sunglasses. It was very thoughtful of them to do that, again going above and beyond to make us happy. Everyone loves both my new glasses!!! read more

I'm only giving it 1 star because yelp won't let you select ZERO stars! I am a returning customer. Last year I fell for the "3D picture of your retina for an extra $30 that my VSP insurance does not cover" scam. So this year I opted out of it. ALL of the employees tried to talk me into the picture. It was obvious that this was MyEyeDr's way of increasing revenue. Even after I had politely declined FOUR times the lady doing my pre-exam tried once more to tell me I'm making a big mistake by declining because my eyes could be damaged and the only way to tell is with this picture. Then, the doctor completed my eye exam in less than 4 minutes. I'm not even exaggerating. I wish I was. She had me read things so fast I felt like she either had to use the restroom or had a hot date. THEN, yes it gets worse, I couldn't find a frame that I liked (besides the fact that they are way over priced) and told them I would just like a copy of my prescription so I can shop for frames elsewhere. They acted like I asked them for $50 out of their own pocket. They were completely rude. Maybe the employees make their commission from frame sells...i dunno. But what I do know is that I will never go here again. read more
