All I can say is choose another location. Wish I had checked the reviews before going to this location. I've been to Canton location in Baltimore and didn't have an issue. My glasses came before the order date. This location gave me a date. Then two days after the expected delivery date, they tell me I have to wait more than another week. If you don't have the frames that you're selling then don't sell them. I could have gotten a different pair or went somewhere else. For almost a month waiting on glasses that I paid for and can't see. Never again read more

My father goes to this locations and was seen about 6 months ago. We went in to get a MVA form filled out and they told us it would take 3 days to fill it out because that doctor is a floater and is not in the office until then. We should not have to wait 3 days to get a simple form filled out. They said the doctor that did the exam needed to fill it out (that was not said on the MVA form and no signature is needed). They just needed an admin or another doctor to fill it out but instead we had to go to Americas best to go get a whole new exam. This place is trash with trash customer service. read more

I visited for a routine eye exam and contact lens order, but the experience was remarkably disorganized from start to finish. Only one box of contacts was ordered--something that was never communicated to me until I arrived to pick them up. When I asked about the discrepancy, the staff appeared confused and uncoordinated, struggling to explain how the error occurred. What followed was several minutes of fragmented conversation between employees that ended with them asking why I hadn't ordered both eyes--a question that defied logic given that this is typically handled by staff, not the patient. To make matters worse, because the order was split, my insurance may have covered only part of the purchase, leaving me to pay out of pocket for the second box. That unnecessary expense, combined with the lack of accountability, ensured this would be my last visit. Unfortunately, the overall impression was one of low competence and inattentiveness. At checkout, the front desk associate seemed unsure where the credit card terminal was located--despite it being directly in front of me. I had to pick it up and hand it to her. The entire interaction left me genuinely concerned about the level of training and management oversight at this location. In short: this was a disorganized, frustrating, and unprofessional experience that eroded any confidence in the staff's ability to provide even basic service. I will not be returning. read more

It was very easy to make an appointment online, and I called ahead to ask about pricing. Check-in was very easy and speedy. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and professional. Another scam operation. They tell you there is no co-pay with your insurance. Then SURPRISE they charge you and do not explain the reason for the charge. Then they want you to buy glasses and frames only because you have the benefit left to use... yeah right!!!! Like I would trust anything they have to say after charging me a copay. Shame!!!! Stay FAR away especially if you are on Medicare with an advantage plan that includes vision benefits. They will bill you anyway!!!! read more

I have been buying new glasses every year for the past 50+ years. I switched to MyEyeDr in2024 and I am very pleased with the results. My new glasses and lens fit perfectly and the lens are crystal clear. I recently needed a small repair to the frames. The fix was completed in less then 5 minutes and there was no charge. Go anywhere BUT here. Told I don't have proper insurance with no effort made to confirm outside of the system. We've been here several times before. Called billing department and they were immediately able to confirm insurance information. What a waste of time. Every time I go the front offices staff has turned over. Incredibly kind and patient doctors!! I think the doctor who helped me learn how to put in contacts was Dr Carlos, he spent what was probably 20 minutes helping me get comfortable with putting contacts in and out, he even put a contact in himself to show me how he did it haha. read more

The visit initially went well but we apparently were the last appointment for the day and then Dr Patel left immediately after our exams were done. There was an issue with my daughter's prescription. She wears progressive lenses which we previously purchased from this location at her last eye visit. The doctor apparently didn't check her file or notice that's what she was wearing so she didn't get tested for the reading portion which required us to come back. Autumn scheduled us for the next day to see Dr Rainey and assured us she'd be able to fix the prescription so we could order a new pair of progressive lenses. The next day after a long day of work, spent an hour driving to MyEyeDr only for Dr Rainey to refuse service. She said we had to wait for Dr Patel the following Monday which happens to be after our insurance coverage ends. It being the end of the day maybe she just wanted to leave or maybe she didn't want to help us for monetary reasons. Either way this office does not operate as one team and certainly does not put customers first. We wasted our time and insurance benefit and my daughter still needs the proper prescription so we can order her new glasses. We also paid for the updated retina photos and Dr Patel never reviewed that with us. I plan to complain to our insurance company. read more

The staff was very friendly, professional and took all necessary precautions to make the customer feel safe during Co-vid. I wouldn't recommend this particular location because of 3 separate experiences over the past year. I tried to dismiss it before but this is the third time I've had an issue with their scheduling and following up with me for contact lens samples after my fitting. Twice already I showed up in person for an appointment that I made online on their website only to be informed at the front desk that they cancelled my appointment because they were not able to reach me over the phone to confirm it the day before. They also did not even try to accommodate me even when I was already there. This last instance, as I was speaking to the lady at the front desk, another employee joined in our conversation and was not very professional in speaking with me. Beware if you set an appointment, maybe try to call them and make sure they're not cancelling you the day of the appointment even if they havent reached you. This all could have been avoided by trying out other avenues of communication such as email and maybe a simple text. I also did not appreciate the way they talked to me in person. read more

I have been a loyal customer and spent several thousand dollars in this establishment for several years. 11 months prior a purchased a pair of glasses with all the bells and whistles to the tune of $800. About a month ago I took the glasses to the store as the plastic nose piece had fallen off and there were a few scratches on the lenses (despite the special coating). As I had purchased the warranty my glasses were replaced. I have had the new pair for 3 weeks. Alas, again the plastic nose piece broke and I took them to the store. I discussed with the manager the problem and was told there was nothing they could do. He handed me a card with the phone number and location of a glass repair shop. There was no attempt to call the establishment and see if they could fix the nose piece and when I objected the manager shrugged his shoulders. I need to use my health care spending account dollars and thought I would be purchasing a new pair of glasses from My Eye Doctor but I guess not. Lense Crafters here I come. Carol Wade read more

I have gone to My Eye doctor in Ellicott the first because it was in my insurance plan, however I went back because the staff and doctor took amazing care of me and answered questions that I had. They are all very personable and friendly. I know not everyone has a great or good experience with places , but we all have experiences, mine was amazing. As with any doctor you may have to wait that is normal it happens there is never a need to be negative when this happens even if you have an appointment scheduled because the person who is in front of you may be having more in-depth issues. And to those who complain about timely matters just remember that if it where you having the issues wouldn't you want the doctor to take his/her time with you? Anyway. I love My Eye Doctor and will continue to be a patient and tell my friends and family about them. read more

Scheduling was never a hassle and Matt (staff-optometry tech) was very helpful with informing me what my insurance would cover, so it was no surprise after all costs. The doctor was very patient and took time to explain my vision to me. I went on a Saturday and was the last customer. The staff was patient while I took my time trying to decide on frames. I started going to this Ellicott City LOCATION in 2014. At that time, all of the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and diverse. As I continued to go over the years, I began to notice the black employees were dropping like flies. New employees were being hired and trained by the personnel who had been there for a long time. I felt bad for the black employees who were for SOME reason, left on their own, were let go or just disappeared. Both of the Drs at this location are EXCELLENT and did a thorough eye exam for me. If not for the poor attitude of one of their employees, Victoria, I would probably return. However, NEVER AGAIN because I called today to see if someone could help me take out my contact lenses which I unfortunately slept in and was told they would have to schedule an "office visit" or pay around $75 out of pocket if no insurance. When I relayed my concern to Victoria, she let out an agitated sigh before placing me on hold to confer with the Dr. Customer service is extremely important to ALL who are spending their hard-earned money for eye care. No matter of race, people should be treated the same and I felt that she would have been more accommodating to me if I were not African American. So long for good Ellicott City My Eye Dr. I and my family and associates will be taking our business elsewhere. Update: After contacting this office for the name of the employee who was disrespectful and rude, I did get a msg from a different employee offering me a one time courtesy visit to take a look at my eyes. I am a hospital PA. For better protection, I was looking to get new glasses so I could stop wearing contacts at work with the coming wave of covid patients on their way. I checked the box that I worked in a hospital and was refused service. Way to stand by your HealthCare workers!! You guys have closed up shop and I still have to go to work every day and at risk everyday. This will not be the last you hear of me. Ordered my glasses on 12/6 and went to pick them up on 12/22. The glasses arrived on 12/22 with the wrong coating and the alignment of the progressive lens were off. According to the employee It had only been a week and a half or so since I ordered my glasses, and they had not called so I should not have expected the glasses to be ready. Okay, so apparently I was little off on the time frame, in spite of the communicated eta to receive the glasses. Also, I had called to ask if someone could call me as soon as the glasses came in because of my situation (my pup chewed up glasses). The employee informed me the delay was due to human error, and it may be at least another week or so. My impression was I am supposed to be understanding, rather than expecting them to take responsibility for the subpar quality of the service( not exactly inexpensive for the product and service). I'll provide an update when I receive the glasses, since it is contingent on the service provider and not the client need. I picked up my glasses. Here's my recommendation to anyone contemplating buying glasses here: if all you need is single vision glasses, then you should be satisfied. If you need more complex glasses, i.e., progressive lens, then you may want to consider a different provider. My glasses were adjusted today, and are still not right. After three trips, I will not return. Good luck and I hope you have a better experience. Being able to see is very important. read more

Something is wrong with this company. We have been trying to get them to correctly fill my prescription for 8 weeks now! They have had to send the glasses back 5 times because they keep coming in wrong. And you have to wait a week between each screw up! Now I can't even get a regional manager to call me back even though I have contact their corporate offices and left messages for three different people. Furthermore they won't even issue a refund on your credit card, you have to wait for a check from corporate. read more

This was my first time going to an eye doctor in about 15 years, and it was the best experience I could've hoped for! They saw me on time, which I never expect at any doctor's office, and my eye doctor, Dr. Nachman was so friendly and made me feel comfortable asking him questions and he helped me understand everything. He gave me a prescription for eyeglasses and the lady that helped me was wonderful. She was so patient and helped me pick a pair of frames that was right for me. She helped me with pricing and gave me a better price than my insurance was offering. She told me my glasses would be ready in 3 weeks, and I got a text 4 days later telling me they were ready! I went to pick them up and a different lady helped me and made sure I liked them and they were the right prescription and she fitted them for my head so they wouldn't fall down. I went to My Eye Dr. a few years ago and the first thing when I walked in was that the optometrist asked me an inappropriate question about my ethnicity. I didn't go back for a few years but decided that I would try them again this year. The person I dealt with was no longer at this location. I was there for glasses and contacts. All was good. Until...I received a sample of colored contacts with my regular prescription and just tried to reorder them. The order was rejected because they didn't specifically write the colored contacts on my script. The colored contacts are not exact to my script but were provided (?). So, lets be clear...they already gave me the colored ones to begin with. So, I just called over and they told me that they needed for me to come in again and be fitted for the colored ones (same prescription mind you, just the diameter is a bit higher and I had been wearing them since February off and on). I tried to explain that to them that it was the same prescription that I got in February but she insisted that I come in to see the doctor to be refitted. What a crock. That's called a bait and switch, I think. Why give me the colored ones but only write the regular ones on the script? And they were aware that these were provided as samples as she mentioned it to me. Not ever going back there again. They should be pleased with themselves that they lost the same patient twice. There will not be a third time. After reading the employee reviews, I see its all about $$$ (like I didn't know that from the get go). Really bad customer relations. It would have bode them well to just call in the colored contacts script for me but then they wouldn't have made any money on the deal. Shame. read more
