I usually see both a retinal specialist and an optometrist as I have had Type 1 Diabetes since December 1958 (age 1 1/2 years). As I've had no eye complication, I opted to try just the optometrist, and ask for a dilated retinal exam in addition to the assessment for age related macular edema (runs in the family) and glaucoma screening. when I called the front desk was able to fit me in the next day, take my insurance information, and tell me what my insurance covered. When I arrive, I quickly filled out relevant question, and was taken back where the assistant explained I could have the dilated exam if I wanted, but the retinal laser scan obviated the need for that in most patient. Dr. Parker gave me a detailed explanation and went through the retinal scan with me (I've had multiple scans over the years, but never one so quick and clear. As a recently retired endocrinologist, I was very impressed). Dr. Parker conducted a thorough eye and visual exam, adjusted my prescriptio, and I was on my home after 45 minute. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!! I work in the medical field and its because I enjoy helping people. My daughter is 3 hrs from home attending ECU and had an accident which broke her glasses. I told her to go to this location because she purchased the glasses from MY EYE DR near our house (THEY ARE GREAT) KRISTIN is completely rude and clearly shouldnt be working with the public. My daughter is clearly upset at the fact that she cant see and Kristin offers no solution and didnt even offer to try to glue them. I happen to be on the phone overhearing this so I asked her to please try to repair them. Just trying to help goes a long way Kristin. She acted like we were bothering her by asking for help. Shortly after she comes back with the glasses and states that they are beyond repair and that it will take a few weeks until her new glasses come in. This is the absolute worst customer servce. You need to put a policy in place for situations such as these or at least have qualified staff that want to help people. FYI: after leaving this location my daughter went to Walmart to the eye center and not only were they nice, they repaired her glasses right there for her. read more

I would like to make a comment to a review that I wrote about My Eye Doctor on Friday June 2, 2023 I was at My Eye Doctors office Saturday, June 10 to pick up my glasses. The store manager asked if I had a few minutes to speak with her regarding my recent comment review. She and I spoke and had a pleasant conversation. She was very apologetic about the misunderstanding regarding the contacts and for the person that checked me out, and was also helping with my glasses purchase, but seemed to be more interested in having a personal conversation via her earbuds. I do feel that the office manager did address my concerns and speak with the employee. As she stated to me that she had had other complaints about the same employee. I do appreciate the office manager reaching out to me and I will definitely reconsider My Eye Doctor for my future eye care needs. Thank you office manager B, I am giving 4 stars to the office manager B, for addressing my complaints and 4 stars to the Doctor. As far as the person that was checking me out and helping with my eye glass purchase. ZERO stars for her, and when I go back this upcoming week for my contact purchase. So I came here thinking I could get a good prescription and order my glasses online which I do most of the time. I came here for my exam and I ordered contacts through them and glasses using the prescription. I couldn't believe even with insurance they charged me $250. Now I did get a year's worth of contacts but my insurance paid that, I tried to get the bill explained to me and it was lost in translation. I should have gone to Walmart. read more

Do Not Go here. Save yourself the trouble. When I went to check out, the clerk was LITERALLY watching a movie on her phone and not paying attention. Can't make this up!. Was promised new lenses in a week. 3 weeks later I had to stop by to see where they were, Only to find out the TV watching clerk had ordered my lenses for an old set of Frames. Not the frames I was holding in my hands asking them to order them for. 11-2-23, Update. I want to take the time to update my review of MyEyeDr. over two years ago I had a bad experience with a local Eye Doctor in Greenville which left a very bad taste with me. When I went to this particular MyEyeDoctor on Greenville Blvd and had some confusion with what eye glasses I wanted upgraded to a Titanium pair of glasses, my computer glasses I had ordered or the main pair of glasses, and received the wrong glasses I became very upset and immediately decided to write a bad review. I should have waited a few days to give myself some time to cool down. After going through in my mind how I had asked the technician to upgrade the glasses I should have been more clear as to which pair I wanted upgraded. A couple of days ago I received my glasses and they gave me the pair of glasses that were made in the wrong frames along with the Titanium pair. I went in today to have my glasses adjusted and these people were so kind and I have to admit they went way above and beyond in helping me. read more

On December 10 I had an appointment for an eye exam. It went great. Then I was taken to select new eyeglasses because my prescription needed updating. I was told I could use my old glasses that they would simply replace the lenses. What they didn't tell me is that they would break my frames and then offer a cheap replacement. I ordered my new glasses on December 11th with a promise to receive them by December 27th. I called on December 27th they were not ready, I was told to call back in another week, I did they were still not ready. After several phone calls and getting the round around I went into office, where I was told my frames had been broken, I was not offered a refund but some second level glasses that would take another ten days to 2 weeks to receive..I am so disappointed in the quality of your services..The eye doctors are great, the eye glass department awful..definitely would not recommend to friend or foe read more

Outrageous compared to my experience getting bifocal glasses, contact exam, and 6 months of contacts from a local Optometrist Practice that came highly recommended. Had my exam, picked out two pairs of glasses and was told I would be paying $200 dollars for both. Their system had gone down so I was instructed to either come back later or call back to pay. I went back that afternoon and was told that my bill was $400 dollars. After consulting with the person that I had originally spoken to, he told me that it would be $250 for both pairs because of a technical mistake on his part, which is not terrible, but not what I had been told in the beginning. They would not honor the original price, although they admitted to being wrong. I paid full price for both pairs and went back later due to issues with glare. I had specifically paid more for glare protection on both pairs of glasses but was then informed that one pair could not have glare protection. I gave up and have dealt with the glasses that I paid for. Will never return to this location. read more

Beware!! Their lab was suppose to put new lenses in my personal glasses and they totally messed them up. Two other local eye glass places said they couldn't believe they got past the screening from there and my eye doctor place and made it all the way to me. The replacement lenses were too big so they stuffed them in and in the process the hinges holding the arms in place got pulled out. All the lab had to do was call to tell me they wouldn't be able to do it, they destroyed my property. I gave them back to the doctor place to return to lab to fix weeks ago. Finally I called My eye Dr. office and they had no idea about the whole problem. That's too bad because they do a good job at the prescription part, Dr.'s and staff nice too. read more

I simply love this Optometrist and the staff!! She's so soft spoken and polite. She kept me informed on what she was doing and why. Not only that, but my appointment was so quick and hassle free. The staff was so polite and knowledgeable and the facility was very clean and welcoming. I'll be going back there next year, when my exam is due again. The worst thing that happened was.......... it took forever to find a set of frames I felt was "me"!! I should have gone a day or so before my appointment so I could select my frames before my exam. I would love to give this place ZERO stars but unfortunately this app does not allow it. I should have paid attention to all the NEGATIVE REVIEWS about this location in particular but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. What a mistake that was!!! I absolutely do NOT recommend wasting your time or money here. Between myself and my daughter, we spent over $1K on our exams, contacts and glasses in one single day (and that was our cost with insurance). I walked in to their office a few days ago to inquire about why it took so long for me to receive my contacts in the mail, which were delivered via USPS and left on my front doorstep 2 months after my initial eye exam (thank God I also bought a pair of glasses since I had to wait so long for my contacts to arrive). The manager Julie preceded to read the notes in their system that stated they made several attempts to contact me to inform me that my trial pair of contacts were ready for pickup but got "no answer." Interesting since I have a cell phone and my voicemail is set up, yet not once did I have any messages from them. I informed Julie that the notes in their system were blatant lies to which she just shrugged her shoulders and said 'that's what our system says.' I asked Julie if she was aware of all the negative reviews their business has and she stated 'We read them online everyday.' Well Julie, as I informed you, here's another bad review I mentioned I would be writing; just add it to your existing pile of negative reviews. I also asked Julie if I would be credited at all since I never received my trial lenses or this supposed phone call, to which Julie responded 'No ma'am.' They actually did owe me a credit however, since my lenses were switched out for another brand when I went for my recheck, yet never bothered to inform me about the cost difference at the time of my appointment since I obviously paid for the more expensive lenses during my initial exam. However they were quick to tell my daughter she would have to pay an additional $200 for the lenses the doctor recommended when she went back for her recheck, if she chose to go with the "new" ones she tried on. My daughter refused and I'm glad she did because when I questioned Julie about this, she said the price difference between the two different lenses was approximately $60 yet my daughter was told she would have to pay $200. About an hour after I left the location, I received a call from KC informing me that my trial lenses could still be picked up since, as she stated "they're yours." Are you kidding me??!! Why were these lenses not given to me while I was still in your office??!! I drove back and picked them up later that afternoon....That's nice that I finally was able to get my trial lenses almost 3 month after my initial eye exam. Save yourself the misery of dealing with an office that practices in falsifying your records to make them look like they are doing their job. Please pay attention to the negative reviews, they are very truthful. Take your business elsewhere, you'll be happy you did. read more

Crappy customer service. I came in on 8/21/17 just to get my glasses tightened. Absolutely no one acknowledged me. Granted there were only two eye care associates working, it wasn't even busy. I stood, sat, got back up, and stood some more. After about 20 minutes I was fed up and walked out the door. I still need to get my eyeglasses tightened. Wish there was another location to choose from. Will I go back? Probably. Only because there are no other locations nearby. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would My order was totally bungled. They had to call me and remind them what my frames looked like. The glasses came in, and they were the wrong frames! So, I kept my cool, and picked out more frames ( which is almost atop my list of things I hate to do) So these new glasses come in. They forgot to remeasure my eyes to the new frames!!! When i told the lady that the middle of my line of sight was bluured, she told me not to worry that I'd get used to it (I shudda asked for my refund then). So back again for the third time.... I walk in and the lady that helped me the first time literally trotted to the back when she saw me coming in. The manager tried to help. She seemed like she was sizing me up for how much money I had. I could buy whatever I wanted in there. I was offended by this. As we were reaching the end of the deal, she told me she was taking this experience with a grain of salt...RUDE!! So now I'm stuck with 500 dollar glasses, not much better vision, and a horribly bitter taste in my mouth over the whole "glasses buying" thing. Go down the road to the next place. Absolutely love the doctor and the staff but they have recently been bought by the group "my eye doctor". The service is much different now. I waited 50 minutes to see the doctor and he still wasn't available so I had to reschedule. On my reschedule I waited 40 minutes to see him. He was as thorough as usual. I had time to read other reviews and seems this is an issue with many other 'my eye doctor" offices. I noticed the response to each review was to call this 888 number and speak to their patient rep. I did and got a cold reception. They were not open to feedback. I explained I have been to the same eye doctor for more than 15 years and have never had an experience like this. He tried to say it was the doctor was slow but it seemed like there were at least 4 people scheduled at the same time. There is one way that would be possible. I think the management of my eye doctor is what is making the service so unacceptable now. It's less about patient care and more about increasing through put despite what the patient rep tried to explain.
