I have been a patient of Dr. McIntosh for years and was genuinely looking forward to seeing him through his retirement. Unfortunately, after my experience today, I'll likely never see it. I texted the office in advance to let them know I was on my way. When I stepped out of my truck in the parking lot, my clock read 3:09. I got my things, walked in, and stood in line to check in. When I reached the window, I was told that according to the front desk staff's clock, I walked through the door at 3:11, and the doctor was already with another patient. I'm curious if she tracks the time every patient walks through those doors. The text I sent was never communicated to the office manager. When I raised it, it was repeatedly dismissed. The office manager and staff member were inflexible, I honestly felt bullied, and she used her authority to force me to reschedule rather than find any reasonable solution. She even told me the owners would simply back her up, stating the staff did the right thing, when I shared that I felt like this was unfair and I should advocate for myself, asking for an email to share concerns. I was on the premises within the grace period, communicated in advance, and was treated as though none of that mattered. Very disappointed in how this was handled. read more

The price for new glasses.... is NOT the price! 3 weeks after I bought my glasses, I get a bill in the mail for $40.00. I called to ask what it was for and they said "We forgot to charge you for something on your new glasses" ""But that is the price we agreed on" "Yea.. but we forgot to charge you for (whatever)" " "I don't think I should have to pay that" "We're sorry but you need to pay this" ""I'm sorry but I'm not going to" Less than 30 days later, I start getting phone calls from collection companies. I told them this was not a valid debt. They insisted. Now I have a collection on my credit score.... Remember THE PRICE IS NOT THE PRICE!! read more

Text alerts for appointments and reminders and they handle all my insurance questions too. I scheduled 2 appointments a month and a half in advance. Both were for the same day. I had to cancel one. I texted the same number that I made the appointment on. Everything was confirmed. I get to my appointment today. I tried to enter but the doors were locked. I assume do to the limited capacity due to COVID-19. The receptionist directly in front of the door just sat there looking at me like I was crazy. Another receptionist opened the door for me. I told her that I had an appointment at 2. She looked in the computer and didn't see anything. She asked the other receptionist (ya know the one who sat there looking at me like I was crazy). She eventually told me that they had reached out to everyone who had appointments bc someone in the office had tested positive for the virus. I truly understand and appreciate cancelling appointments due to exposure to the virus. However, How did you reach out to "everyone" but I didn't get a call OR text. And then she asked is your number still.."XXX-XXXX". So you do HAVE my number but failed to call and cancel my appointment? I was considerate enough to cancel one of my appointments but obviously courtesy is not extended to the patients as well. And there was a patient in the lobby waiting to be seen as well as a gentleman who had just been seen. So who exactly were they cancelling appointments for? I will NOT be returning to this office. Very unhappy with glasses and verbally being told things that are not being honored. Rating zero.

If I could give a ZERO I would!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I've been back 5 times for them to correct my prescription/newglasses and their answer finally is, that it's MY FAULT that they are still NOT CORRECT. Went in for my initial exam in Feb 2020 with Dr. Will J. Sawyer, and this is how I was treated: 1.They gave me my 1st pair of glasses in the parking lot because of COVID. I immediately told them I COULDN'T SEE OUT OF THEM and was told to just take them home and try them out. When I called back they said that they were not SEEING PATIENTS (per Covid lockdown) so I couldn't go inside to have them looked at. When they reopened (months later), I went back in to have them look at my glasses, to find out that: 2. They NEVER PUT THE PRESCRIPTION IN MY NEW GLASSES... ZERO Prescription in my glasses. By now this has been 5 months with no glasses. 3. Next I have to come back to pick up the ORIGINAL Glasses that they never filled. I looked through them and immediately couldn't see correctly. 4. I asked to have another exam, which I had with the OWNER, Dr. Thomas C. McIntosh. 5. Came back to pick up my prescription and the prescription is STILL WRONG. I was once again told to take them home and try them out, which I did again. 6. When I came in to have them looked at AGAIN, I was told it was the frames I picked out that were the problem... the problem with this analogy is that I had tried two totally different frames, and my prescription is still WRONG! I was once again told to just take them home and try them out. 7. I was told that it's been a year since my first visit and therefore if/when I come back in it would be a whole new exam. If I could give 0 stars I would. I needed to get an eye exam and went in to see if they would accept walk ins, they do, but they had no openings. The girl made an appointment for me the next day for 2:20pm, and asked me if I wanted to fill out my paperwork so I didn't have to fill out before my appointment. I filled everything out and left. Today I come in for my scheduled appointment and the girl taking care of me says that my appointment is not scheduled. She tells me there's a 2:40 that she can schedule me for. At 2:45 she tells me that she has to contact my insurance and it would be a 45 minute wait and the next available appointment is at 3:45... I then told her to rip up my paperwork and walked out. I will never step foot here again. I would much rather go get my eyes checked at Walmart then this place. read more

Called and requested my lense prescription. Advised the young woman I was going to get it filled at another location. They emailed it over and I took it to eyemart where they told me it was expired. Called Carolina vision back and the young woman was very short with me. The whole thing was a complete waste of time and she was dismissive to boot. I won't ever return. read more

Wasted my time. Called on the phone to book an appointment and make sure they accepted my insurance. Waited weeks for my appointment date to arrive, just for them to tell me my insurance wasn't accepted there (they said it was over the phone). Tried to tell me my insurance wasn't vision insurance, then they realized they did not accept it. read more
