Zero stars! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH MY EYE DR!! I ordered glasses SIX WEEKS ago and still have not received my product. Nor have I received an explanation as to why it's taking so long. After multiple attempts to contact the store and corporate office with no response, I left a google review. I received a response from a social media specialist the same day, imagine that. Is this company more concerned about their image or customer service? I asked the social media specialist for a refund which seems reasonable since we're going into week 7 now. I was told I could receive a discount on my next pair. That means nothing to me since I will NEVER patronize this business again. I suggest you don't either. read more

This location has great physicians, but the front desk staff leaves much to the imagination. As a Black woman, I believe the receptionist has some issues with race which are poignant and obvious. On a separate visit, my husband experienced the same treatment. Made an appointment for annual eye exam. Literally got a dozen phone messages reminding me of my appointment. Day of appointment, I show up early to fill out paperwork. The place was chaotic. I waited 10 minutes before anyone came to check me in. Finally someone did. Told me to sit in the waiting area...30 minutes later, the person who checked me in asked me if I was waiting for the doctor! I said yes. I've been here over 30 minutes now. They took me back to do the pre appointment screening. Tried to upsell me for some test. Went back out to the waiting area. Another 30 minutes before I got called back to my actual appointment. If you all can Literally call me a dozen times, why not pick up the phone and let me know the doctor is running behind???? read more

Had a referral from VA, but when I checked in I was told they didn't receive it from the VA. There wasn't any attempt to contact the referring office and pretty much they weren't helpful and they were disengaged. When I call the VA, I was told the referral had been faxed to them earlier and I found out the front desk at MyEyeDr had canceled my appointment without notifying me. If this is indicative of their service level, go somewhere else. read more

I have been using MyeyeDr at the Hanover location for about 5 years. The doctors have been great and the staff is attentive. Even during COVID, I felt safe at this location and they followed all protocols. I have to recommend and thank Dr. Friedman, he diagnosed my son (8 years old) with alternating exotropia. He was thoughtful about how he explained to my son, and recommended to see John's Hopkins specialists. He was knowledgeable about the diagnosis and optimistic for us. I have continued with my visits as he is an excellent doctor. My son is proud when he tells everyone that MyEyeDr helped him! read more

TL;DR - This location is clean, efficient, friendly and timely. I realized I had been having some minor (minor enough to keep ignoring) vision issues for the past year or so. My parents reminded me I had not had an eye exam since the MVA last required it for a license renewal. Thus...I went online to setup an eye exam as a new patient. The ONE weird thing about the website, is it asks if you wear glasses or contacts - there is no option for neither. I simply selected glasses and then clarified in person. The check-in process with COVID is such that you wait at a little stand at the main door and then a technician will give you a mask (you must wear one of theirs) and hand sanitize you. The tech then takes you back to do the "pre-screening" before you see the doctor. My appointment was for 11am and I was taken back the second time (to see the doctor) within 5 minutes of my actual appointment time. Great! Dr. Friedman was comprehensive and explained everything. The tech had already given me the option of doing the comprehensive scan (which I accepted). The images are pulled up by the doctor and explained clearly. Sadly, I was not able to make it to my 30th birthday before I joined the glasses crowd! That said, the entire staff was REALLY helpful. Glasses can be pretty intimidating. Years of going to the optometrist with my parents (they wear glasses) didn't really prepare me for the selection size. Admittedly, I just went with Oakley because I like their sunglasses. Eyewear will always be pricey - and that's not MyEyeDr's fault. Blame Luxottica (they have an 80% monopoly on global eyewear!). The entire process took about an hour and 10 minutes - and that was with the computer system going down for a few minutes. As long as I live in the area, I will be coming back here for my eye needs. The technology seems very modern, the entire location is clean, the COVID procedures are on point (they sterilize the frames you touch before putting them back on the racks), and the intimidation level of a new glasses person was very low. read more

UPDATED: SEE BELOW The temporary doctor was great but the sales lady who completes sales, I believe is Linda G., was a bit short and rude with her facial expressions when I asked for help with an existing pair of glasses I received there the previous year. A short sigh and a slight eye roll made me feel that helping me with that was the last thing she wanted to do. Dealt with Richard too and he was completely professional and helpful in every way. Glasses were ordered well before end of year and still not here as of Jan 14. I called in to ask if they came in yet and got a long explanation instead of a friendly response of "let me check". Disappointed in customer service and had to endure a week of technical classroom training with my old glasses in which my prescription has had significant changes this past year.. I'm still in a holding pattern for who knows how long. :( UPDATE: I kept getting responses on phone when checking every 2 business days (usually Linda G., to see if my glasses have come in yet, that "if I didn't receive a text message then they have not come in." So I decided to personally visit the store in person this past Saturday myself. I asked them to check their box and low and behold, they were sitting in there for a week! They arrived at store on the 11th, I got them on the 18th, only because I personally visited the store. Very sorry to report such an awful experience. read more

This is a new store that opened a few months ago--and I have had a great experience here so far. The equipment is new and clean, they take a picture of your retina and show it to you as part of an option for the eye exam, and they have a wide selection of frames. What sets this store apart is, the staff are all quite young and knowledgeable about glasses. Heather was very sweet and knew her stuff. The optometrist who did my exam was young but professional. The frames I tried on ranged from Gucci and Marc Jacobs and this expensive french brand, to Kate Spade, Ann Taylor, Guess, etc. Most of the frames were in the $100-$200 range, and they also had a selection of sunglasses. They do have crizal coating, transition lenses, ultra-thinning, and other fancy options for your glasses. read more

This is my third year visiting this location, I have had great experiences in the past but this year was very disappointing. I received a call Thursday from Richard the manager who told me my appointment on Monday needed to be rescheduled, I was Ok with that and rescheduled my appointment for Tuesday. On Tuesday I received a call saying my appointment needed to be rescheduled due to an issue with the doctor. When I arrived on Wednesday for my appointment I expressed my disappointment with the receptionist/tech Linda. I told her I spoke with a guy in their office who told me my Monday appointment needed to be moved and told her the reason I was given. Linda then told me there was no way that I had spoken to someone in their office, there is only one guy who works there and he would not have given me the information I received. She went on to say that there are call centers that answer their calls, I repeatedly told her that I knew the guy I spoke to since I had dealt with him the previous year. She basically without saying the exact words called me a liar, I must be mistaken. I told her I was also upset that my appointment was canceled on Tuesday, she told me the doctor had a emergency. I do understand that things happen however; it was difficult for me to reschedule my appointment three times in one week. She told me in exact words "things happen I just need to get over it." After my appointment with the doctor Richard was there and I asked him if I had spoken to him the Thursday before he said yes and apologized for the inconvenience. I asked him to let her know I wasn't just making up the reason I was told the appointment was cancelled, since that is basically what she inferred. I have NEVER experienced customer service like this and I hope I will never experience it again! Meanwhile Richard and Linda the consultant worked very diligently to restore my experience! I hope that no one who visits this location has any experience similar to mine. I gave this location a 2 star due to Linda but I must say that every experience I have had with the exception of dealing with her has been a 5. read more

A little over a month ago I woke up with very strange vision in my right eye - there was what looked like dark concentric circles covering the lower left half of my field of vision. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I knew I should get it checked out right away. I went online and made a same day appointment with Dr. Alan Friedman. The front desk staff was helpful, and the intake tech did a great job: thorough, quick, and full of good humor (the only downside was that my pupils were too small to get a good retinal scan without dilating my eyes). When I got into the appointment I described my symptoms to Dr. Friedman and he immediately became concerned. It was early afternoon on a Friday and (even without being able to see my retinal scan) he wanted me to be seen right away by a retinal specialist - he was pretty sure my vision changes were signs of a detached retina. He immediately called the National Retina Institute himself and stayed on the phone with the receptionist until they could find a surgeon to evaluate me that afternoon. He made the appointment for me, sent them my information, and gave me directions to make sure I got there right away. He ended up being 100% correct and I had emergency surgery the following morning. I can't thank him enough for going above and beyond everything a doctor should do! read more

The front office staff is constantly looking for ways to make the purchase of my glasses economical yet provide laying value. The optometrist wasn't very friendly and I definitely felt rushed. Come to find out he gave me the wrong contact prescription. When I called them to see what to do, their response was that I should come back in but they didn't know if they would charge me or not. Just to clarify, I repeated it back and yes, evidently they wouldn't know how to handle this situation until I physically walked in their door, and thus they wouldn't know if they would charge me. I requested additional services to have a picture taken of my eyes with a separate examination. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. Would not reccomend and will not go back. The ophthalmologist doing my exam was less than pleasant. And ordering glasses was utterly ridiculous. Ordered my glasses 10/28/2017 and was told 10-14 business days... here I am 3 weeks later with no glasses. Apparently they were on back order and I was never told. I'm sorry, I called and they told me there was an issue with my glasses at the lab but they didn't specify as to what. I've worn glasses for 5 years now, my son wears glasses & so does my father and the majority of my family. I canceled my order and will be taking my RX elsewhere. I could understand the delay if I had been properly notified and didn't have to call myself every single time. Also, why are refunds mailed? Get with the times I canceled my order with the store manager who basically was like are you really wanting to cancel your order when they are this close to being done? Yes yes I would because at this rate I'm frustrated and have been dealing with massive headaches due to not having my glasses and my spares are broken... so I'm not thrilled and I'm not hard to please AT ALL so that's saying a lot after all was said and done and my order was canceled I then remembered that I'm moving in a week after we hung up. Chose to change my file with corporate rather than speak to the manager again. Besides same day / next day appointments this place is pretty inconvienent. read more
