I called my insurance company to find a provider under my insurance plan and they referred me here. I called them to verify that they take my insurance which they said yes. I went there for my exam and to get new glasses. After the exam the optician was helping me with my glasses. I have a high end frame (several of them that are in prime condition). I just wanted to replace the lenses. I have over 50 years of experience in the optical field from manufacturing to dispensing. The optician asked what I wanted. I explained that I wanted what I currently had. She responded with, let's get the most expensive and see what your insurance covers. I asked why and she said, why not? She could not justify wasting money on something I did not want or need. Then she said "your insurance doesn't cover any glasses." Well that is a crock. I had already called the insurance company and knew exactly what they cover! She gave me a price of over $1,000 dollars for a simple bifocal lens! This place is a scam! I left and took my prescription from the VA not the one from them because I had ZERO trust now. I filled it out of pocket at another optical company for 300 dollars! I called my insurance company and filed a complaint about this place. The only thing they care about is how much money they can get out of you. read more

Dottie was so helpful with my contact lens issue today. Initially, she said there was nothing they could do but after I voiced some frustration (sorry Dottie and Krista), Dottie got on the phone and took care of my problem. We had been going here for years. They cancelled our appointments because my wife didn't answer when they called to confirm Then when she rescheduled they canceled hers for being 2 minutes late. But they had my daughter wait 30 minutes for hers?? So I canceled mine just to beat them to the punch since I was on time. The Drs. Are get they need to get a better office staff. read more

A few weeks ago during the statewide Spectrum outage, I had my routine eye exam and was measured for my glasses. For whatever reason, that paperwork was lost and I had to come back to re-do my measurements. I wasn't happy about that since we don't live too close to the office but thankfully Lori provided me with excellent customer service and got everything redone and squared away. This office is incompetent. I would never recommend their services. My wife had issues with a severely delayed lens replacement. My recent visit: they called to reschedule because they had overbooked. At the office I waited 45 min in the exam room for the doctor. Her exam was fine and she provided a different style and prescription of contact, but struggled to use the iPad and seemingly couldn't document the changes. Before leaving staff could/would not provide me with me with a prescription and said I would need to call later. I have called three times looking to get the prescription. Front desk staff was pleasant but unhelpful. I was told they left me a voicemail- it was never received. I was told the doctor provided an eye glass exam only. Not true as I received and paid $60 for a contact lens fitting. I am still waiting for resolution, but often when I call the local office, my call is routes to a doctor in Oklahoma. This office has gone complete downhill since myeyedr bought them out. Dr. Hardy is fantastic and so sweet. When I first started coming here, it felt like a small town eye Dr. it's now awful to deal with. A month ago I had an appointment, they had to cancel and reschedule due to the doctor being out sick, which is totally fine. When they rescheduled me they told me a different time than what was scheduled. I came in at 9:17am thinking my appointment was at 9:30. My appointment was apparently at 9:00am so I was 17 minutes late. Their policy is to reschedule my appointment if you're 15 minutes late. They refused to see me. There was no one in the lobby. I came back the next week to see the doctor got my prescription and was told that Michael the GM would call me to finalize my cost and glasses order. It took two days to get ahold of him. We finally discussed the cost and he told me he would call back the next day to take final payment. It has taken a week to get ahold of him. When I called yesterday, the phone kept forwarding to a doctor in Oklahoma! So I drove 20 minutes to see what was going on. The office was closed. I called this morning and of course Michael was MIA again. I don't think I will be back next year. read more

My Eye Doctor on 46 in Hunter's Village. Incompetent is the best I can say. The lab and the billing. I'm not sure about the doctor but everything else is not good. I tried no line bifocals and paid for them in December 2022. There lab takes a very long time and the no line bifocals took two tries to get them per the request. I could not get used to them and switched to lined bifocals for no charge as stated up front. Again due to lab incompetence it took multiple tries to get them correct... finally in April 2023, 3 and a half months from the date of the exam. Then after another month I gets bill for $150. I paid in full back in December. They said they fixed the billing error. But then I get another bill for $150 just this month, August 2023. The local office says they will handle it and call me to confirm. But no call came. Run, don't walk from this organization. read more

We needed a new eye doctor and found this location on line and are super happy we did. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful and Dr Matthew is the best eye doctor we have had in years. They do not put any pressure on you to buy expensive designer frames unless you want them and then they have a really nice selection. We are raving fans. read more

The staff and opticians have been professional each time I've been in. Texas country ranch design in the waiting room is luxuriously inviting. Wait time has never been an issue. My glasses unfortunately broke in the last month of my warranty and they were happy to replace as my glasses did have a warranty. Only took a week to get my new ones. Great selection of frames for adults to choose from. Happy customer! read more

My wife and I relocated here in 2022 from West Texas where we had our optometrist examined our vision annually for sometime. Since My EyeDr. was located near our residence we went there for annual vision check. The examinations were uneventful and we both received prescriptions for new lenses. The charges were extremely expensive. My copay was $418 and my wife's copay was $318 after the insurance. This year we went to another eye doctor where we both paid $15 each for copay which was what we paid in the West Texas. read more

I am completely appalled by the service I just received at this facility. I have had glasses/ contacts for over 19 years and never ever have I been treated by an eye facility in the manner that I was treated this afternoon. First and foremost my husband and I has had the same insurance for the past 10 years, and since my husband is a government employee supporting our military we move around a lot and have been seen by several facilities all over the country using the same insurance. On the phone the lady who claims she was the manager stated she hasn't heard of bcbs fep bluevision, which is the main network provider for our entire government personnel. She kept asking for another name which no other name was listed on my card no 3rd party processor. She was very rude not receptive to what I was stating to her on the phone. I even told her that I have never ever had this issue ever with an eye doctor. I even confirmed online through the bcbs blue vision website who stated they were a preferred provider. She wasn't even willing to take down the information nor investigate it until I told her that i was gonna go to another provider if this was going to be an issue. Her response was "oh I'm sorry, you Must be having a bad day." Then I requested to speak to her manager and she stated she wasn't in. I'm sorry but this person has poor customer service and poor de-escalation skills to be answering the phones/ managing your practice. Like I said I have never encountered such rude service at any eye doctor facilities I have ever been too. I chose to be a new patient with your establishment because of your reputation. But one bad experience can ruin a practice and I will definitely be spreading the word to any military/ government employees in the area about this facility. read more

I'd have to say this was the worst service for TRYING to get my contact prescription filled! Saw the optometrist, she recommended new contact brand and mono vision contacts. Ordered a 6 month supply but in the meantime while trying them out from lenses given to me and charged for, I didn't like them so asked for my old brand and single vision to be ordered instead. The inept people at the front desk ordered the same prescription I returned!!! So took them back and asked again for my old brand and single vision contacts. The optometrist came out and asked me why I didn't like the new contacts and I explained why I wanted my old brand and single vision contacts ordered. She said ok and I got old prescription. Then the inept front desk people were suppose to exchange the contacts ordered with the now new single vision contacts and with my old preferred brand. I thought great now I'll get my contacts!!! Went to pick up the ordered contacts only to find out that it was the same prescription as what I returned!!!!! So I took them back and asked for a refund. I then called to speak to the optometrist to let her know what an inept front office staff she has and never got a call back!!!! So now I have to go back to make sure they credit my card back. Once that is settled I'll never go back there again and neither will my husband!!! You lost 2 customers and I'll not recommend this place to anyone!!!!! I'll keep my business with Walmart!!! At least they know what they are doing!!!! So very disappointed !!!! read more

Dr. Hardy has been my Optometrist since the mid-1970's. He was and is the best doctor. He was the first to be able to fit me in contacts that were comfortable and corrected both my astigmatism and gave me near 20/20 in both eyes. He has additional Certifications that allow him to do more comprehensive eye exams. This greatly improves the quality of Services he provides. His Office staff are competent and caring The three offices I have visited were all very clean and tidy with stylish comfortable furnishings The back office staff were thorough with instructions and practiced effective Universal Precautions while administering tests and visual measurements. Finally, I was AMAZED how quickly my entire visit progressed. This is the most organized, patient-friendly and safe attractive clinic I have ever received systematic, competent, and empathetic care in a very short time. I hope to be a patient of Dr. John Hardy at least another 20 years. GREAT JOB ALL OF YOU! KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO THE EXCELLENT WAY YOU DO IT! read more

I called multiple times to have my contact prescription sent to me. Every time I was told it was email but I never received an email. After the third try I asked if it could be mailed and was told they could and that they would. I haven't received anything but they made sure to tell me I should order contacts through them because "they'll save me money". If you can't even send my prescription to me why would I trust you to order my contacts. Ridiculous and extremely disappointing. From the nurse that started the process to the enjoyable visit I had with Dr. Blaschke, I was totally in awe, they will most certainly be the only eye clinic I visit! I went to this office for a normal annual eye exam as I recently relocated to t he area and I saw the positive ratings online. I could not be more disappointed! On the initial visit I was there for almost 2 hours and they could not complete the exam due to some things being down....the Medical part apparently could not be done and since the computers were acting up it took a very long time to check out...I was there for over 90 minutes. So then I went back yesterday for my follow up Medical testing that should have been done on the 1st visit...I arrived and checked in with the receptionist at 1020 for my 1035 appointment and was told to take a seat, which pI did right in front of her. After being there for 45 minutes I asked her what the story was and she asked me my name!! I was so upset I just had to leave and will not go back to a place that does not respect my time, ignored me when they could have at least checked in why I was sitting there for 45 minutes and generally felt like they did not give a flip about me as a customer! Will not go back and hope they do not try and charge me for the visit read more

On February 2, 2022 I saw the optometrist at myeyedr on Hwy 46 in New Braunfels, TX for an annual eye exam. Once that was done I ordered 2 pair of eyeglasses. I was told they would arrive in 7 to 10 days and that they would contact me when they arrived. 10 days passed and no word so I called them only to be told that there was a mistake at the lab and that the eyeglasses were sent back for correction. They told me that my regular lenses were put in the sunglass frames and the sunglass lenses were put in the regular frames. They said that it was a "lab error." Another 10+ days went by and still no eyeglasses. Repeated calls to the office resulted in mass confusion - no-one seemed to know what the problem was. I called my insurance company and got them to investigate. They spoke to the lab and learned the myeyedr ordered ONLY the lenses NOT the frames, which they made and sent to myeyedr, only to have them sent back to the lab. The lab is now thoroughly confused. It has now been 30 days and I still have no eyeglasses! This is the worst service I have ever received from a professional office. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

Busted eye blood vessel, looked really awful = scared, Called the office - they had an emergency number, called it and Dr. hardy answered, I provided details and sent him photos of my to him, he called back and advised busted blood vessel - it will clear up . DFR. Hardy is a true Dr. that helps people before talking money. He did this as a courtesy. To me that says a lot about caring personality, a real human. I would recommend Dr. Hardy to anyone, he's a fine example to the medical world of what a real Dr. is supposed to be like ... Dr. Hardy and his staff is the best. Have only gone to this eye doctor twice. While the office staff can be a little short on the phone at times, I know you're busy... I have been extraordinarily impressed with my experiences. Love, love, loved Dr. Hardy, but their new Dr.Blaschke is... how do I say it... quite passionate about eyes. She took time explaining in great detail all of the test results and why they look at certain things. Truly, I did not understand everything she said, but I felt great putting my eye care in her hands. Will definitely recommend to anyone read more
