This review is about the optometrist (Jolly Good) and not the glasses center. The optometrist…read morecenter makes it seem as though you are required to either take pictures of your eyes for $39 or have your eyes dilated for part of the exam. They will tell you without the pictures you will need to get dilated which will effect your vision for 6-8 hours. They fail to tell you that these are optional and not required making it seem like it is mandatory. They are trying to scam you out of money by making it seem you are required to get one or the other when you are not required to do either. Go to America's Best or somewhere else that is honest with their patients.

I corrected her to let her know my prescription is for progressive. (Why would you just assume single vision?) While I was looking at frames, I watched several customers come in to pick up glasses. The lack of personal attention they were given for fittings, etc. caused me to decide that unless the process was fabulous, I would not purchase my glasses here. Then, as she was finding out the cost, she asked, "What kind of progressives do you want?" My reply: " What do you mean?" "Well, these days there are different kinds of progressives." Me: "In what way?" "Well, the regular ones have a smaller field of vision." At no point did she show me an example or have a diagram... Anyway, my glasses were going to be $250 after my $250 allowance!

My visit with Dr. Dobson at Dripping Springs Vision Center was a complete turnaround. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, efficient, and genuinely kind. The whole process felt smooth and well-organized, which was such a relief after what I'd been dealing with. Dr. Dobson was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. He took the time to really understand what wasn't working before and quickly pinpointed what needed to be adjusted. He didn't just update my prescription--he carefully considered the type of contacts and what would best fit my eye shape. That level of detail made all the difference. For the first time in months, I put in the trial contacts and could see clearly without any straining or second-guessing. It honestly felt like such a weight lifted. I'm beyond grateful for the care I received here. Dr. Dobson is truly exceptional, and the entire team made the experience a positive one from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for someone who really knows what they're doing and takes the time to get it right.

I chose Dripping Springs Vision Center because of its positive reviews, but my experience was quite…read moredifferent. If I could rate DSVC at a zero, I would. For more than three months, I struggled with glasses that had the wrong prescription. I saw shadows above letters, could not read signs until I was remarkably close, and suffered blisters, pain, and headaches from wearing them. I returned more than fifteen times for help. Each time the technician adjusted the earpieces and stated that I needed to give my eyes more time to adjust. That never happened. After I requested a follow-up exam and waited weeks for the promised callback to schedule it, I was finally given an appointment. During the exam, the optometrist said my cataracts were worse than he had originally diagnosed and might be contributing to my vision problems. He wrote a new prescription but also told me I was still at least two years away from needing cataract surgery. I then brought in my old frames and asked that the new lenses be placed in them because the new glasses had never been adjusted enough to eliminate the pain and fit problems. It took more than three weeks for the updated glasses to arrive. During that time, I called three times for an update and told one time that someone would call me back with an update. I did not receive a callback. When the glasses finally arrived, the same vision problems remained: shadows above letters and difficulty reading signs from a distance. In addition, the earpieces on my frames had been adjusted even though I specifically asked that no changes be made. As a result, my frames were now painful to wear. By this time, more than three months had passed, and I still had glasses that were painful and did not have glasses with the correct prescription. The technician later emailed me saying the optometrist now believed I needed cataract surgery because this prescription was not working for me, which directly contradicted his statement just three weeks earlier that I would not need surgery for at least two years. At that point, I decided to stop working with this practice and requested a full refund. The technician emailed to confirm I would receive one, but I later received an email from the practice manager stating that the exam fee would not be refunded. I replied by describing my deplorable experience and pointing out that I had been told I would receive a full refund. I also stated in this email that I would be sharing my experience so others considering this practice would be aware of the poor service, lack of support, and misleading communication I encountered at DSVC. I absolutely would not recommend anyone go to DSVC for their vision needs.

We are new to the area, and my husband and I both went to 20/20 express this past year. Now we will not be back. Our daughter first went to Wal-Mart eye care that day because she felt like there was a scratch in her right eye. Wal-Mart said they could not see her because they no longer deal with scratches but told her to go to 20/20 express as well. My daughter went there because only because that was our eye doctor. Melissa the eye doctor was sitting up front when she came in and told her she felt like there was a scratch in her right eye. Dr leaned over and looked at her eye and said "I don't see anything". Dr then asked, where and my daughter pointed to where it hurt, and she said as she laughed, those are your blood vessels and she smirked and looked around at the other customers. She told her to fill out the paper work and front desk would give her a price. Dr Melissa also told her, oh and this was supposed to be my last patient today because I was supposed leave after her, but I guess I can see you after her. Lady at the front desk told her it would be $129 and then asked her, "Can you do that?" My daughter said yes, but I don't want to spend that. Point!!! She has the money, she felt like she was spoke to like she was a dumb teenager that didn't know anything. My daughter has Noonan Syndrome, she is 32 and 4' 11". She just got off work and didn't have any make up on. So, my daughter may have looked young to them, but they made her feel stupid. NOW.....she called America's Best in Georgetown (she goes to America's Best in Tyler), they wanted to get her in that day but she lives an hour from there and it was already late in the afternoon. I went with her. Guess what?! She has a scratch in that eye. The eye dr was so sweet. They were also shocked to hear how she was treated at 20/20 Express. The eye dr was so thorough, he is referring her to a specialist as he believes she has Glaucoma. That is common with people with Noonan Syndrome. Thankfully!!!!!! Someone chose to be nice and caring to her, had she not got this SCRATCH in her EYE checked, so what is going on behind her right eye he saw would not have been checked. Here is the thing, my daughter doesn't mind spending $129, America's Best was only $75, but that wasn't the point, she called me so upset how she was treated by 20/20 Express. We will never go back to 20/20, it's worth driving an hour to get good, thorough professional eye care. The entire Hulse Family!
