What is funny, is that bad employees see no connection between bad service and a future of no paycheck. You know why? They don't care. And they have never had to work to earn the money to PAY the ungrateful employee who is destroying their business. I went by Vision Shoppe today after seeing 4.5 on Yelp (my barometer 4.5stars 99% of the time means 'great experience ahead) because I hoped to find a local eyeglass place cause I bought a house in Newtown and am trying to shop small business locally. I wanted to order contacts, and replace two pairs of lenses (read: high margin item) with a new prescription. So, I arrived, and the front doors look like what you think an Ebola ward would look like. (I was tightly masked up) Signs plastered STOP!!! STAY IN YOUR CAR! in multiple places and a phone number. I had parked my car around the corner in the shade and was on foot. Of course, the door was locked, why wouldn't it be with so many dire warnings. So, through the store window, through the plexiglass shield at her desk, and from behind her mask (in the store ALONE as far as I could see) the receptionist could only bring herself to lift up the handset on the phone and point to it. New customer, probably $1500 to spend, I took my phone and then started to dial and though - she can't even get up and come say hello through the glass and have some sort of human interaction? Neither I nor my money is that transactional and if I wanted to have an experience through the glass, I would either get a friend who is in prison or try and see if Hannibal Lector is in an institution nearby. Until then, I will find a different eyeglass place where customers are human and not an infection waiting to happen.

I procrastinated and waited to get them two days before I went on a long trip. I asked if there was any way I could get them the next day but they said it would take at least 4 days for the glasses to come in. They do her exam & we go sit down for them to order the glasses and they gave me paperwork for me sign something saying insurance will cover this and that... please keep in mind that I stated numerous times that the insurance doesn't sound right as my husbands insurance through work was no longer active. They said it's pulling up so let them pay. Okay cool. I go to sign paperwork and my daughter's first name is spelled correctly, her last name isn't. My daughter's birthdate is wrong... they initially told me that the woman just copied it over wrong & it's fine... then she begins looking back and forth a bit more closely and finds that the last name is spelled this "incorrect" way... then they ask me if my name is Crystal and I say no. Suddenly everything that was covered through insurance needs to be paid. We cancelled ordering glasses with the understanding that I would just order online and then they tried to charge me for today's visit. They tried justifying it by saying they were reimbursing me for something from our previous visit that should never have been ordered to begin with. I made it clear that I wasn't paying because she has insurance that they apparently no longer take & it's not on me that they ran the wrong one. I did walk out with my refund from the previous visit and I plan to reschedule my daughter's visit with another business. Any business that is okay with brushing off the fact that they were running the wrong insurance as if it's no big deal and has still tried to run it in the beginning is shady. Really makes me wonder what they've been up to. I do intend to report them because this is not okay.
