I feel bad for small business owners. It's a really tough time to be surviving with a small…read morebusiness and for those businesses that have employees that don't care about customer service, they are likely the difference between life (open) and death (closed.) What is funny, is that bad employees see no connection between bad service and a future of no paycheck. You know why? They don't care. And they have never had to work to earn the money to PAY the ungrateful employee who is destroying their business. I went by Vision Shoppe today after seeing 4.5 on Yelp (my barometer 4.5stars 99% of the time means 'great experience ahead) because I hoped to find a local eyeglass place cause I bought a house in Newtown and am trying to shop small business locally. I wanted to order contacts, and replace two pairs of lenses (read: high margin item) with a new prescription. So, I arrived, and the front doors look like what you think an Ebola ward would look like. (I was tightly masked up) Signs plastered STOP!!! STAY IN YOUR CAR! in multiple places and a phone number. I had parked my car around the corner in the shade and was on foot. Of course, the door was locked, why wouldn't it be with so many dire warnings. So, through the store window, through the plexiglass shield at her desk, and from behind her mask (in the store ALONE as far as I could see) the receptionist could only bring herself to lift up the handset on the phone and point to it. New customer, probably $1500 to spend, I took my phone and then started to dial and though - she can't even get up and come say hello through the glass and have some sort of human interaction? Neither I nor my money is that transactional and if I wanted to have an experience through the glass, I would either get a friend who is in prison or try and see if Hannibal Lector is in an institution nearby. Until then, I will find a different eyeglass place where customers are human and not an infection waiting to happen.

Bad experience! I am trying to get them to correct a pair of prescription glasses they screwed up…read morefor over a month! Never going back!

I visited Dr. Lerner's office in August 2022. I purchased an eye exam and new glasses That cost…read moreover $600.00 with insurance because I have a bad stigmatism. I have worn my new glasses for about five months and I noticed trouble seeing far distances. I recently misplaced my new glasses and used my old pair and noticed right away how well I could see driving not only at night but during the day. I tried to call Mr. Lerner's office several times, leaving multiple messages without any response. I would not use Mr. Lerner's services or purchase any products from him.

Dr. Lerner is extremely thorough and has been wonderful for my whole family. Here are the facts:…read more 1. Prior to seeing Dr. Lerner, we went to My Eye Doctor. I needed progressives and after 3 attempts, My Eye Doctor still didn't get the prescription right and my insurance would not cover any more changes. Dr. Lerner got it right the first time and it is WONDERFUL to be able to use progressives. 2. Dr. Lerner identified an issue with my 8 yr old that My Eye Doctor did not identify, he sent us to see a specialist and thank goodness, with eye exercises we hope to avoid surgery because it was caught in time. 3. It is hard to find an appt for my 16 yr old with his busy schedule. Dr. Lerner worked with us to fit him in and got him done within 45 minutes! 4. My father went to see Dr. Lerner through my recommendation and even though he is 79 yrs old, he said he never had an eye exam that was so thorough. I know some people complain about how they have to wait, but you know when he is giving you an eye exam, he is taking the time you deserve to do a great job and do it right. He is not rushing you through the appt just to stay on schedule like other places do. Bottom line, if you want a thorough eye exam, see Dr. Lerner. If you have to wait a little, aren't your eyes worth it?

Went here because my eye doctor is in the same building so I felt it was convenient. It has been…read moreover a month and I have still not received my glasses. I need them for work and it is becoming an issue. About two weeks after the initial order, I received a call that my glasses were in. However, when I went there, it was the wrong frame and wrong lens. Such incompetence! So, they were going to reorder. It has been an additional two weeks and I still do not have my glasses. I would go elsewhere but sadly, I paid upfront. Will not use them again.

I went to the Danbury Eye Optical Shop because the Store is Adjacent to my Ophthalmologist's…read moreOffice. The Store was Clean and Nice. The Service was O.K. Although, despite generally being quiet/ empty, when someone finally spoke, the First Thing that I heard was that I wouldn't be helped without an Appointment. (Not sure what, exactly that meant as whenever I've been to my Ophthalmologist and looked over, and each Time that I've been to this Store, it's been Empty or Nearly Empty. Nor are there any Instructions on how one actually Schedules an Appointment there.) I Replied that I wasn't ready to purchase, and preferred to be left on my own to Browse. After a little while, I was Instructed that I could Look At/ Try On Frames that were Hung on the Displays. If I tried any Frames On, to Please Not Replace them Directly onto the Displays, as they'd have to be Disinfected prior to being Replaced. Frame Selection was O.K., Prices were on the Higher Side. I continued to Browse until I found a Frame that I liked, and tried it on, making Note of the Brand & Model Number. As I was about to leave a worker called out indicating that she had some time if there was something that she could help me with. I inquired further about the Frames that I liked, and she asked to see my Prescription. It was decided that the Frames were a good fit, and could accommodate my Prescription. Not having a lot of Time, nor Patience to Devote to Shopping around for Eye-Glasses, we Commenced with the Ordering Process. DOUBLE Check Your Order Details BEFORE leaving the Store as their Software is 'Glitchy' and your Order may get 'Transposed' with another Client's. This happened to me. I ended up getting Charged Twice for the Same, Single Pair of Glasses. (MY Glasses, with MY Prescription, 'attached' to Someone Else's Account/ Name/ Address/ Phone Number.) When I Noticed that the Phone Number was Incorrect, I asked about the Address... that was also Incorrect. That's when it was discovered that My Order had been Processed for the Wrong Client. I was told that the 'Initial'/ Incorrect Order, as well as the Charge to my Credit Card had been 'Deleted'. (I wasn't given any Receipts for either the Charge, Nor the Credit because they would've had a Different Client's Personal Information on them, and also because I was told that it was all 'Deleted' so there was 'Nothing' to give me.) The Order was then 'Re-Processed' with MY Correct Information. I did later Follow Up with my Credit Card Company and found BOTH Charges Pending (This was a $1,000.00 Charge incorrectly 'Doubled' to $2000.00.) I Called the Store and left a message for the Manager. While it did take Two attempts, my Refund did Ultimately get applied. My Glasses arrived, in about 2 Weeks. However, I only know this because I called the Store... No-One ever Called me. It took an Additional Week for me to finally get my Glasses. Why? Because the Hours of Operation for this Store are RIDICULOUSLY LIMITED. (I hadn't realized that at the Time of my Purchase, only to discover it later -my bad for not Checking!) When I was finally able to pick up my Glasses, they were Perfect. Not a Single Adjustment had to be made. I was given Clear Information about my Glasses, how they work, how to care for them, and about what to expect as a 'First-Time' Eye-Glass Wearer. I was also given Clear Instructions about the Challenges of Learning to Adjust to 'Progressive' Lenses. What I found Extremely disappointing and somewhat shocking is the Cheap Cardboard Eye-Glass Case that came with my $1,000.00 Eye-Glasses. I had to take my Glasses off so I Put them in their Case to Protect them/ Keep them Safe. I put the Case in my Handbag (Fortunately Not a very Full Bag, and nothing too Bulky/ Heavy in it.) When next I went to get my Glasses, the 'Case' was Crushed/ Open and my NEW, LESS THAN 2 HOURS OLD Eye-Glasses Were in my Bag Unprotected. Luckily they didn't get Damaged. (My Glasses are very Thin, Wire-Rimmed. Not only could the Lenses have gotten Scratched, but the Frames could've been Destroyed.) I've since tried to Purchase a Better Case, but can't find the Correct Size. Nor a Case with a Soft, 'Scratchless', Lining. Nevertheless, having Spent $1,000.00 on One Pair of Eye-Glasses, I really don't Believe that I should have to take the Time to Search for, as well as Spend ADDITIONAL Money on an Eye-Glass Case! As a First Time Eye-Glass Purchaser/ Wearer I have Nothing to Compare my Experience to. I've simply tried to State the Facts as they Happened, and Hopefully Presented a Fair, Balanced, and Useful Review.
