Everything and everyone was spectacular until aI was at the eyeglass desk with the employee Jordan so I could possibly order an inexpensive pair of eyeglasses just as a back up to my contacts if and when needed. He was extremely demanding, sarcastic and rude telling me what I was going tonitser and telling menI was going to wear glasses and not contacts. No matter how politely I tried to respond he got even more obnoxious to the point after he told me to rest assure he doesn't need the customers or that job that I said okay, good for you, I will or a er my backup glasses elsewhere. I'm a bit suspicious that he may have had something to do with the other employees thinking I backednoutnof contacts amd wanted glasses. Never, as I told him, Ive always when contacts and had inexpensive glasses as a back up. I will not mention any names but I overheard a comment about many people coming in for contacts but got there and got glasses instead...things thay make you say hmmmmm..IDK if the employees at rhe eyeglass desk earn commission or not. If I could give them a minus 10 I would. We got here to pick up our glasses (we got them from a good eye doctor in Texas and had them sent to Florida). They are rude. We were told it was going to be a while. We could leave and come back. We did but when we came back we were told to sign in at the bottom of the list again. They do not have appropriate staffing. I am not sure how to review this. I used MyeyeDr in Virginia for years with no problem. Moved to FL & thought I'd use same company. I decided to try progressive lenses, I couldn't do it, that is my bad. They tell me to come in, so I take off work, drive about 45 minutes for them to do nothing that couldn't be done over the phone. I say I cannot read with them, so they order new lenses. Not knowing they were "reader" prescription lenses. Take off work, drive 45 minutes to pick up new lenses. Try them & determine this is not what I need. I asked for a recheck of my vision to make sure the Rx is correct. They schedule it, I take off work, drive 45 minutes for them to tell me no recheck is going to occur & they will order lenses in the format of my last ones that worked with new Rx. Lenses show up & I take off work, drive 45 minutes to pick them up, NO ONE IS THERE TO SWAP LENSES, I have to come back another time. Yep, take off work, drive 45 minutes to finally get lenses. I can read with them, but something still isn't right. They hurt my eyes. I don't know what else to do, but I'm not happy. And the 2 trips there for what could have been done over the phone is ridiculous. read more

I am proactive about my health. I switched to them for my yearly exam at which I was told I have macular degeneration. 2 weeks after my exam when I picked up my glasses I asked them for a referral to a retina specialist. I also ordered another pair of glasses. The person went in the back and later came out and said someone would be in touch in a couple of weeks. They never told me who the retinal specialist was. After picking up my second pair of glasses, I asked about the referral to the retina specialist again. Again they went in the back and came out and told me I should hear from someone in a couple of weeks. I finally called the retina specialist and they did not have any referal for me. I called MyEyeDr back and they said they sent it and I verified the correct fax number. After a number of back and forth, I was scheduled for the retina specialist. Meanwhile, my vision rapidly decreased and at my current visit two months later I felt chewed out because I didn't call them. According to the doctor I was at fault because referrals are supposed to go through him. If the referral had gone through as I requested on day 1, I might not have lost the my vision. What a great experience as a new customer. I had taken a few foster children there and always been pleased, but when it is for yourself the diagnosis of what good looks like tends to be a bit more real. I used their on-line system for setting up my appointment. I then called to confirm at the same time they were calling me. The script wasn't anywhere near correct for me to be able to see. she refused to assist in getting this corrected. Had my 2 yr exam at this Ocala location in Aug and subsequently purchased a pair of bifocals from them, as well. When I received the glasses, my vision seemed a bit off but I chalked this up to the glasses being new and I believed I simply had to get used to them. I kept having to get within 13-14 inches of my laptop screen for the bifocal to focus in well enough for me to see and read text. Two months later, I ordered a pair of bifocals via the web using the exact same script I used at Myeyedr and when they arrived, they allowed me to see normally at my usual distance of 22-25 inches. Since I paid to receive bifocals that were made incorrectly, I won't be taking any of my future business to Myeyedr from now on. read more

This place is absolutely horrible I ordered glasses here and they had me purchase protection so that if anything happened to them they would be fixed I bring them in and the lady just tells me that I have to take them home as a throwaway pair she doesn't tell me that I need to keep them in order to get the new glasses that she's ordered so when my glasses come in I don't have them because I threw them away and use my contacts well she proceeds to tell me now I can't get the glasses unless I pay half price. I parked in a "Doctor's Spot" and was asked to move. I have no problem moving my car if I am parked in a reserved spot. However, when every spot is open next to my car and the said dr parks next to the spot I was in-- is just ridiculous. Maybe you should worry about doing your job rather than a parking spot. (Not) MyEyeDr has a text message service that allows patient's with scheduled appointments to provide a text confirmation, which I did, TWICE, yet when I get to my appointment today I was informed that my appointment was cancelled because I didn't provide a "verbal confirmation" when called. How about joining this century and run analytics on the reliability of response rates between phone calls, emails, and text messages? How about that? Then, MAYBE, your organization will LEARN that a text response is far more reliable, and likely to receive a response than the previous two options! Lastly, I can only blame myself. I Purchased two pairs of glasses from them, one every day glasses the other pair was for reading. Well I was sold for my every day pair scratch resistant, lies lies lies my lenses are scratched my warranty is up and I'm pretty much screwed. My other pair the reading glasses Are perfectly fine, go figure. I spent $900 for glasses with them and they won't fix my issue with the scratched lenses with I was told it doesn't prevent scratches well then what are you selling me when you tell me scratch resistant. Beware! Watch what you purchase from them be on your toes. You're hearing from a very unhappy customer that now has to go and purchase new lenses for my glasses because they lied to me and they made me pay for something extra that doesn't even exist. read more

I requested to just have an exam and not the eye pic and it was supposed to be 99 dollars. They have you sign a book when you come in and apparently one of the papers is to get the picture of your eye done. Even though I had already requested to not do, they did and charged me 143. If I have already said no, why do you put a paper in a book of papers that most of us don't read and just sign when we go to the doctors office Just doesn't seem right. Had an appointment at my eye doctor for an eye exam. The exam went well. They said two weeks for my glasses to come in only took seven days. Received a text message to pick up my new glasses. Live in Dunnellon drove to Ocala to pick up my eyeglasses. All they would do is hand them out the door for me. They would not fit my glasses at that time. They said I needed to make an appointment. Looking through the door the receptionist was there and the optician that sells you and fits your glasses was there and no one else in the store. They could have taken five minutes to adjust my glasses instead I have to make an appointment that is five days away and drive from Dunnellon to Ocala again to get them fitted. They never said I need an appointment to have my glasses fitted in their text. I wouldn't be upset except for there was no one in the store and they were doing nothing. They didn't have five minutes to take care of a customer that just spent hundreds of dollars at their establishment. This is not a way to do business. This is very unprofessional. I will never go back there again. Please take my advice and find a different optician. Highly disappointed and unsatisfied. Quality of the glasses is fair nothing better. read more

I made an appointment for the Ocala office back in December for my son for is 4 years old. I had asked them if the doctor sees the patients that young and the lady came back on the phone and explained that he did. I proceeded to make the appointment for today at 9 am. I drove an hour from my home to get there. They seemed very iffy when they were checking us in. the lady then proceeded to give me the paperwork, she took the referral and the insurance card. I was filling out the paperwork and the receptionist came to me and asked, does your son know his ABC'S? I said he knows some but not all of them due to being a bit delayed. she then asked if he knew his shapes, i also answered with yes, he knows some of them as well. she said OK and walked away. I began to fill out more of the paperwork. Then another lady came out and start apologizing, saying that the doctor would not be able to see him and that the person who scheduled my son should have not scheduled him. She stated that since he does not know all his letters and shapes that they would not be able to tell anything. I told her Well he is ADHD and is delayed. I explained to her that you guys called me yesterday to confirm the appointment, so I know that you saw his age. I just drove an hour for you to turn us away when I could have not wasted a trip. She was saying sorry again, but I made sure to explain to them that they need to give better training to the people that make these appointments. My current eyeglasses are in very poor condition and I really need my new prescription, however, they keep returning my glasses due to the prescription not being correct. This was one of the worst experience at an optometrist service my wife and I ever had. I would give them no stars if I could. My wife and I made an appointment in the afternoon and we were there for three hours for an examination, I for contacts my wife for new glasses. We were given a price for the services that was rendered and paid the bill accordingly, my wife purchased glasses with Transitions and bifocal lenses. I had to wait 6 days on a trail pair of contacts. Two weeks later my wife called to see if her glasses were ready. They told her to come pick them up as they should be in that afternoon. When she got there she was told that we owed another $177.00 and the glasses where not correct in the bifocals and there were no Transitions on the glasses. when asked about the added money we were told there had been a mistake in the insurance process. We talked to Brittany Stallard the General Manger of the business and was told this was what the Insurance charge them. We are very very disappointed with the service and action of this business. My first time here and it was based primarily on hype from Dr. Lange's radio show. i arrived at 1:40 pm for a 2pm appointment. The office was empty except for one other patient who was already being seen it turned out.I completed my four page questionnaire,and handed it back 1:50. There were about four employees out front from the optical lenses area to the check in area,and no other customers.Average chit-chat among them about there personal lives,but no feeling of anyone really doing anything.I continued to wait until after 2:30. Then a nice guy came out and called me to a little area just off from the check in desk. he did a view tests with a couple of machines for measuring and had me follow him back to another exam office.He then did a vision test much like the one most of us have done before as in "read the line you can read clearly to me" etc. The nicest employee of the day by far.I then was dilated and started my wait for the doctor. I won't mention his name,as its not that important.He did another few standard tests including precursor for glaucoma.Once his tests were done,he left the machine in front of my face,and began to write.The only conversation with me at that point was 'at your previous eye exam,did they say anything about glaucoma ?" i said "no not that I recall. He began writing again. "Well he said,a few of the muscles on the right eye show something suspicious that may be the beginning." "But don't worry about that now a days we can catch it and treat it earlier." End of conversation. I started to ask a question,but based on his demeanor and eagerness to "wrap it up",i thought maybe we were holding off for the end of the visit. He then said "I'm gonna take you out to the frame and lenses area where they will help you further.' So grab your belongings and I'll show you the way out." At this point I'm feeling like an assembly line or like 50 people are waiting and they have to hurry to catch up. he took me out to the area I had been sitting in,and told the lady something,and then said " she will get you set up.have a nice day." Nothing about what my vision was now,was it 20/20 20/40 etc.,nothing.No discussion on glaucoma,treatment,do i have it or not,nothing. i spoke up to the lady and said i have some progressive lenses I brought that have never been put into frames,and i think maybe I'm ready to try that. She then proceeded to tell me that the doctor said I needed "two-stage bifocals". i said wait a second 'so i don't need just ready glasses,i need bifocals? She said,well the doctor feels thats whats best for you at this stage. So i said ,he didn't say anything about that,do i need to wear bifocals to drive legally now? She said ,"oh no,were gonna get you into some progressive lenses." i just literally went"huh?" "so your gonna use the lenses I brought?" "Oh no" she said ,I wouldn't suggest that.The newer ones are far better. So I asked how,in what way. She began to draw on a post-it note. She drew a pair of lenses and said "this is what your lenses look like and this is their blur area. This is what the NEW lenses look like (looked the same in her drawing),and this is their blur area. You see its much less!" All i could say was ah-huh (not seeing anything in the drawing that helped.) So what is the price based on my insurance of these NEW progressive lenses (granted we had not discussed frames costs). Looking over my new file she stated "$382.00". After my jaw dropped,i asked her what was the difference in cost of the OLD lenses I had and the NEW ones she's trying to sell. "your lenses you have there sold for about 82 dollars. I said so these NEW lenses are still the same type progressive lenses,but less blur on the edges right? She said 'yes basically". But they cost 4 times as much!! "Well with your insurance they would be something like 145.00 without the frames. " REALLY!!!! Bare in mind i was not any choices as to materials (glass,plastic or poly carbonate),nor offered a short or wide corridor type of lens. Based on the lack of customer service as in "we are here for you",or do you have any questions you would like to ask about anything today?" I felt as if (especially this lady), I'm working on a commission here so will you please spend some high dollars and leave.All in all not an experience of "we really do care about you the patient,but more of a this is just what we do all day long and we can't wait to get out here,will you please conduct your business and go-thanks! read more
