And she provides virtual care. After alll of that, they came back with a higher price, higher than my insurance... sat there and looked at me clueless. Such a horrible experience i had an appointment at 9:40am on a Saturday 2/23/24 i was exactly 8 min late and there was heavy rain. I had an appointment with my wife which her appt was at 10 aswell,just to be turned away by the lady at the front desk which didn't even bother to acknowledge when someone was standing there. As the caretaker for my mother, my husband and I made appointments for the three of us weeks in advance. This office confirmed via email, text message, and multiple phone calls numerous times. They called for verification of insurance we had already entered, for verification of appointments and every time we answered and reconfirmed the information. On this morning's call (less than one business day before the appointment) when they called AGAIN for insurance information that was already entered and confirmed in their system. When I tried to save time by confirming my husband and I have the same insurance (different from my mother)- they instructed me they could not see all three of us on the same day because of "policy". When questioned, they kept citing "policy" and then informed me if we didn't show up we would waste the doctor's time. I reconfirmed that we had answered every phone call, email, text message and taken the day off work, again confirming we would be there and they refused to budge citing "policy". So after wasting MY time, we are unable to continue with the same doctor I have seen previously. What a waste of time and ridiculous "customer service". read more

First, let me say Dr. Gonzalez (Oxon Hill) is awesome...HE gets 5 Stars from me. The young lady at the front desk, Dria, absolutely awesome, great, and friendly. She get 5 stars for greeting me so nicely when I arrived and for assisting with my initial selecting of frames. The young lady who helped with finalizing the eyeglasses, Mo, she gets 5 stars as well...super funny and hilarious. A very beautiful young lady inside and out. The young lady who did my initial exam was very rude and curt. Contemplated leaving after my initial exam, but stayed anyway despite the fact that my appointment was at 10:20 and it was already 11:00. Not good. She seemed to have an attitude when I told her I was unaware that my insurance did not cover a contact lense exam and no one made me aware of this and her very rude response to me was, "Well, I'm telling you now." What! Okay...Doctor late, rude staff member, not going well for this location for me to return ever again. Have examination with Dr. Gonzalez at 11:30...he was awesome, very nice, informative, and knowledgeable. Okay, maybe I'll give this place a chance after all. Go to select and finalize frames with Mo. Very friendly young lady. Helps me pick out frames from ones priced with my insurance. She takes measurements, finalizes purchase, let's me know when to expect them to return. I call to see if my eyeglasses have returned and a very nice young man name Brian informs they haven't yet; however, within 5 minutes he phones me back to say the orders just came in and so have my glasses. I say, great, wonderful...I will pick them up tomorrow. He says, "Great, see you then". I go to pick them up the next day and am assisted by Devon. Glasses had a strange effect going on and another young lady on the staff told me I was experiencing what they call a "fish bowl effect" considering I had not worn glasses in almost 30 years and had just removed my contacts to test the glasses. She told me to go home, wear them for a week or so and see if it gets better and let them know if there are any issues. Great, wore them for a week...no contacts...put them on that Tuesday after New Year and could not see a thing when I went to use my laptop! I am like what...hadn't been on laptop since before Christmas. I call office to let them know and had a very unfriendly conversation with Kizzy who informed me that the Doctor recommended I get progressive lenses and I informed her I did not at the time because I did not have the money. I told her I would get the money and be in there. Went in encountered Devon, who I learned was the "Assistant Manager"...worse uninformative conversation ever! Asked him questions that he said he did not know because he was not a doctor. What! How are you and why are you the Assistant Manager then? Not to mention a young lady at the front desk...NOT Dria...kept constantly asking him while we were speaking "wasn't it lunch time yet?". WHAT! I guess assisting a customer was not her priority nor was she apparently taught any manners to not interrupt people when they are speaking especially without saying "excuse me" and the fact that it is rude. And, Devon, the Assistant Manager, did nothing to discourage her rudeness nor shut her down. Devon suggested I see the Doctor...for what...especially since He couldn't see me for almost another week, and the fact that I was truly getting annoyed by the fact that he was not, could not, nor did tell me anything that was effective, understanding, or pertinent to the situation at hand, I asked him to please do what he needed in order to have the lenses changed. While waiting for him to do what he needed to do, Ms. "Isn't it lunch time yet" proceeded to leave the office and did not know that I saw her making faces at me behind my back at Devon which I said nothing to the fact of her continued rude, unprofessional, and ill-mannered behavior. In any event, I phoned today to see if the glasses were ready and I got Dominique...she is definitely not part of the friendly part of the staff. Thought she was Dria and she got upset and told me, "No, hold on"...in a very nasty voice. I hung up. A few moments later, my phone rang and it was Dria with her usual sweet self. Assisted me with the information I needed and told me she would keep me informed and would speak with me soon as the glasses were not ready yet. Oh, and Brian picked up the phone while I was waiting and I told him that Dria put me on hold and he said no problem, thank you, and hold on with his usual pleasant self. If you go to this location...where most of the staff acts as though you knocked on their door at home to assist you despite the fact that you came into the place of business where they supposedly WORK...please try to make sure that you interact with Dria, Mo, and/or Brian outside of Dr. Gonzalez because they are the nice ones who have no problem assisting the customers and will not act as if you are disturbing them at home! read more

So I received a text from this location stating it was time for my eye exam. So I scheduled my appointment and arrive in a timely manner. Doors are locked and you need to wait for someone to let you in. They if you have an appointment I said yea and told them my name and she found my appointment in the computer. She asked for my ID assuming to verify I was who I said I was and then she started with the paperwork. If you're sending me a text to inform me it time for a exam only thing you need to know is if my insurance info has changed. I forgot to write a good review about this place the first time we went there. We've been there many times since and we love them. We go so many times because my daughter is always breaking glasses. But that's how kids are. Okay, I'm getting off topic. Anyhow, the first time we went, there was a great eye doctor that did magic tricks. My daughter has special needs and she loved him. From that time forward, any time we went to that place, she expected to see him. He has since moved closer to his home and doesn't work at that location anymore (really sad about it). However, there is another guy that is still there. Either his name is Brian or Ryan. He has a ponytail. My daughter loves him too. Any time we go there, we have a good experience. They call to let you know about your appointment. They tell you what is going on. They are extremely patient and have great customer service. I have NO problems with them and I have probably been taking my daughter there for about 3 years now. I have to remember to write good reviews when I receive good service. This place definitely deserves all the stars. Sorry to the other folks that had a bad experience but mine have ALL been awesome and that place stays busy. I mean, their turnover rate seems a bit quick (new employees all the time. I rarely see people twice besides Brian/Ryan) but I've liked everyone that I've interacted with in the past 3 years. read more

Sits behind the glass to your left, black hair and brownish eyes (sorry, forgot her name) she made you feel like family. She put up with me and that's saying a lot! I did have her laughing quite a bit. She knew her stuff when it came to the frames. She asked me a few questions and then, we began looking for the right frames for my personality. This eye doctor location in Oxon Hill Md. is so friendly and professional. Only thing is it is really hard to get an appointment they are booked up which is a good sign everyone loves the service. I had an appointment that had to be cancelled due to the Dr. having an emergency the staff called me early enough that I did not start my commute, was very friendly and apologetic and was able to rescheule the next day. On to my appointment the Dr. extremely friendly and made my visit so pleasant. The tech who helps you at the end knowlegeable. I just left MyEyeDr. in Oxon HIll and I must say I had a wonderful experience! I called around 2:10PM and there was an available appointment at 2:30PM. I dashed to Oxon Hill and was able to see the doctor on the same day! The front desk specialist were really nice and welcoming, they weren't informed of my appointment, however, they happily assisted. The Dr. was very friendly and thorough, I can't remember his name but he had personality for days and really explained the whole vision screening process to include the additional retina photo service. He suggested I try a new brand/type of contact lenses and I turned into a fan as son as I tried them on! I opted for getting a pair of glasses and Ms. Virginia helped me pick out a pair. I tell you, this lady is GOOD! I picked a few pairs and I didn't really like them and she picked a pair and her first pick was the winner! I tried several other pairs on that I picked after her suggestion but they didn't look as good as the set that she picked. I tell you, this lady knows her stuff. Everyone was very friendly. The only downfall is that they didn't have a wide selection of designer glasses, I didn't get a pair but I didn't really see a big selection. Oh, and the rude customer who wasn't nice to the staff there. Definitely, not MyEyeDr's fault, she was just impatient and didn't appreciate the Dr's one-on-one time with his patients. They have great deals and prices on glasses and I walked away with a year's supply of contacts, a pair of glasses, and a pair of sunglasses for literally a steal. I've been a "my eye doctor" patient for 12 years and have received premier dental service but today was the most humiliating experience ever. I was at the office 3 months ago for a exam. I came into the office for a replacement contact lens because There was a tear in one of lens. The rude front desk clerk and manger told me that my prescription expired and that they have no record of me being seen. Dr. Gonzales went to the front desk and confirmed with them that he did my exam a few months ago and that it should be in the system. The manager David tell me that I didn't pay my copay so they did not keep any of my records for my visit that day, I offered to pay just so I could get my replacement but he said that I would have to get another exam which I would have to pay for as well. I told him I'm not paying twice and that they should have kept my records. Instead of admitting to dropping the ball, he kept telling me there was nothing he could do but charge me again for another visit not to mention I would have to still pay for the visit 3 months ago (the one that they did not keep record of). Distraught and feeling helpless because I can't see, I politely said ok and went to the exam room where the Dr. Gonzales was to see if he could help in any way, while talking to Dr. Gonzales the manger bust into the exam room with another male employee with a bushy pony tail who waited outside the room for a sec. After starteling Dr. Gonzales and I David told me to leave and that I could not speak with the doctor. I informed The manager David that he was intimidating me by the way he came through the door and was giving me axiexty by the way he was stand over me and looking at me. I also told him that I wanted to talk to the doctor about a personal issue and did not want to talk infrint of other patients. Dr. Gonzales told The manager David that it was ok form me to talk to him in private and for him to leave the room and close the door. Dr. Gonzales listened to me talk and encouraged me to reach out to the corporate number that I was given because he did see me a few months ago and that they should've been able to pull my records. Dr. Gonzales ensured me that he would do what he could to help me, little did we both know The manager David was calling the police on me while I was in the room taking to the doctor. Dr. Gonzales left out the room to see if they could possible give me a replacement until we get the record issue resolved. He returned back to the room with the manger and told me that the manager said no and that he is a temp doctor and that he is unsure how they run things. He did tell me that if corporate needed to speak to him he is willing to talk to them. The manager David then tell me to leave and that I could never come back to the office in front of patients. As I am walking to the front of the office I noticed the nice clerk Ms Kizzie and asked if I could speak with her, as I am waiting the manager tells me in front of staff and patients to leave again and that he have already called the police because I am now trespassing. I ended up leaving after I spoke to ms Kizzie and quickly made a complaint with corporate. But as I'm sitting in the car making my complaint I noticed two officers pull up to the facility. It is humiliating and embarrising for patients to be threatened to be banned from the office and to have police called because they want to make a complaint. And just to think a life could've been saved but you called two police officers out so you could avoid a complaint. I ended up going to their sister office who helped me with no hassle. I had an appointment with this branch today at 1:40. I missed my exit on the highway, so I called them around 1:38 to let them know I was on my way, but would be about 5 minutes late. They thanked me and said, "See you then!" I showed up at 1:44, no BS. They made me fill out paperwork, then tell me the doctor had left for lunch and would not return until 3. When I asked them to call him, considering he had an appointment with me, they simply responded saying he told them he had already ordered lunch. I told them I would find another eye doctor rather than waiting. Before I can pull out of the driveway, the gentleman at the front desk calls my cell to remind me I've left my license and insurance card with them. When I return, he gives me the most horrific attitude as he announces to the store that he couldn't find me in the insurance system anyways--as if that makes blowing off my appointment better? I reply with, "Well, that's a mistake, but your doctor left before my appointment any ways..." To which he replies, "well, that's because you were late." I informed him I was 4 minutes late, and had even called ahead to apologize and ensure I would be there soon. I got no apologies. My second time using this location and my last. Had appt. on May 7 for eye exam and new glasses. Was told it would be about 2 weeks. Called today, May 23, since I hadn't heard anything. Besides the long wait on hold, I was told that my glasses were scheduled to be delivered on May 31. I asked why was I told 2 weeks then. I was put on hold again and after about 3 minutes was told that they didn't pass inspection in the lab. So why was I not notified of the delay was my next question. All I got was I'm sorry. SMH!!!!! I left feeling very disappointed. The staff were very friendly, however, when I went back to pick up my glasses, the prescription was wrong. I told them I could not read anything with the glasses on. I was able to see far away. I was told I have to come back and get an entire new examine because the doctor who examined me was off work. I asked why should I come back when the doctor have my reading. Well needless to say I kept getting the same response that I would have to come back for a new examine. Yes I was very upset because I wasn't able to return due to going on travel with my job. The decision to keep my money and schedule with another company is what I will be doing and looking into getting laser surgery. This location is not for me so farewell. I really had a great experience here. I had to get new frames after one of the legs on my trusty old pair of glasses broke. I had to super glue the leg back on. I must admit, it had been 10 years since I had an eye exam & new glasses, so I didn't know what to expect during my appointment. I chose MyEyeDr because they accepted my insurance & they are located one street over from where I live. On the day of my visit, first, I had the eye exam, which I passed all 4 tests with flying colors. Then I met with Dr. Ibrahim, I believe, so he could find out what type of lenses I needed. He is a character. He was doing magic tricks, making paper/tissues disappear, all the while cracking jokes. I asked him if he could make the bill for services rendered disappear. He thought that was funny. I enjoyed my visit there & the employees were friendly too. There is a strong chance my company will be changing their insurance come this January. That'll give me all the more reason to go back & get a backup pair of glasses with the new insurance company! :-) read more

I like this location, as well as the location in Hyattsville. I came to this one because it's more convenient for me know. The staff is very pleasant and personable and AWAKE, even at 8am Saturday morning, which is when my appointment was scheduled for. I had to wait a little bit after the start of my exam, the doctor came a bit later in the 8 o'clock hour, but Dr. Ibrahim was great, so it's okay. Angela was great, and very pleasant and patient helping me make a frame selection. My only issue (if there is one) would be that there isn't a very wide or varied selection available based on my personal preference, but there are a lot of frames quantity wise. So, I wish there were more of a variety of designer frames that didn't all look so similar. Also, I wish they were open on Sundays, or at least later than 7pm on one or more days during the week. My eye dr in oxon hill is the best. As soon as I walked in I told them I had a appointment at 10am and was attended to as soon as I walked in the doors. The staff was extremely friendly and gave me the care I needed. Since this was my first eye exam,they explained everything to me and made me feel at ease. Once I had my initial eye exam and went back out to the waiting room the dr called me back in. Dr. Ibrahim was extremely friendly, funny,and a character. He had me laughing the whole time during my visit with his magic tricks. I told him my eyes are the best so he can't keep playing tricks on them..lol...Once my exam was over I was escorted over to the frames to pick out the best frames for me. I was very pleased with the selection I was able to choose from. I found the perfect frame,I just have to wait a few days to get my glasses. I believe the lady who helped me name was Yvette she was amazing as well and processed my payment and I was good to go. I'm glad for insurance and the deal they had because my initial price was more then 600,but with my insurance and the deal I only paid 101 out of my pocket.
