Mixed impressions, will not return. Food was fine; nothing special. Service was attentive. Restaurant has very little ambience and is quite small. Salmon entree was ok but the accompanying cauliflower mash was vinegary and unappetizing. Whole branzino encased in salt made for table side spectacle, but took forever for the waiter to (skillfully) extract and filet. The actual serving size of the whole branzino -- described as sufficient for 2-3 people -- was actually quite small and had little flavor. The puny accompanying vegetables seemed like an afterthought. The hummus appetizer was average. The highlight was the eggplant/zucchini chips, which were very tasty and had a good dipping sauce, but they were too thick and absorbed a lot of their frying oil. The ultimate issue is the pricing. This restaurant is fantastically overpriced for what you get. The Greek food at nearby Vasili's Kitchen is as good, if not better, has a much nicer dining room space, and is 30-40% less expensive for comparable dishes. Dinner for four people at a small strip mall joint, with no alcoholic drinks, should not cost over $220 before tip. That could be worth it for fantastic food or impressive portions. I'd say that this is a neighborhood gem with Potomac pricing. So your drinks are like 15-20, your app 20+ and your entree around 50 a person. Place is small with plenty of servers walking around so service is no problem. The ambiance is upscale, with lively vibe, which was interesting cause it's mostly older folks who could afford it. The recommended wine nothing special, the calamari below average. However the entrees were excellent. Everything had a taste to it. I would return here but yup, the price would set the expectations for a lot of people and they better excel in the food or it's not worth it. I have not checked out other places so hedging my ratings. I will return for more seafood. read more

I would really recommend folks try out Mykonos' rear patio in the Cabin John Village. It's lovely. Now in June the sun is out late but the sun dips behind the buildings and it's incredibly pleasant with the overhead awnings and greenery. The food is excellent whether inside or outside. This place is AWESOME! It has it all together! Sleek modern design that's comfortable and great for gathering whether you're solo, just two or a group! Fantastic fresh food expertly prepared! And, last but not least, great gender-neutral restrooms (2). Jacob, the bartender and sole waiter (!) during weekday lunch, was wonderful! The right amount of personable and professional. We indicated we were going to share everything so he upped the size of our plates and paced their delivery so as not to overwhelm the table or us! We got the Hummus and Chickpeas---delicious dreamy hummus with the right amount of crunchy chickpeas. The pita was perfect! Then came fried eggplant and Zucchini...so fresh with the perfect crunch! Good tzatziki to complement it. Lastly spanakopita rolls---the BEST spanakopita we've had (and we've had a lot over the years!) and having it rolled in phyllo makes it the perfect delivery! I visited for Mother's Day and the only option available was a preset menu priced at $90. The menu was quite limited, and unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. I hate to start this with a three, because this new addition to the neighborhood has been highly anticipated by me, but it just did not meet the mark that I expected. The score is probably more of a 2.5, however, willing to move to a three because the service was stellar and quite balanced. By that I mean, you had multiple servers that were checking in to make sure that you had what you needed without ever feeling overwhelmed, and that is truly an art. However, that seemed to also be their downfall, as three items that should not have been on the check due to not being available, not being made well and not being ordered at all somehow made it onto the check. But again the service was phenomenal so it's not the biggest deal. Drinks were good, with a large selection of Greek wine, which was extremely impressive. The hummus was visually gorgeous, and came with a massive array of pitas that were at different stages of crispness. Some were crisp as a chip, and some were extremely soft, which made it hard to understand what the intent was. This is actually a good prelude as to why the score is so low, all of the food was a struggle. I would not recommend the lobster salad, the endive and lobster and cream all conflicted badly creating a very sour flavor. The shrimp dish that I ordered next was pretty rubbery with a sauce that didn't feel elevated, and the dish my friend ordered, which I believe was a fish dish was also not outstanding. I will say that I've been to the original and loved every bite of every dish, so I feel certain this is probably just due to early weeks, a new venue, which seems to be much more of a scene based on the location than the last location, And probably trying out some new things to see what fix. I will go back because it is so close, but also because I know it can be better. I'll report back after my next visit! read more

Had high hopes for this new place but left with the same feeling as others: average food at high prices. Service is great. I'd argue a little too attentive but better that than the opposite. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy, everyone is very nice. Tables are very close together and conversation can be a little difficult as noise increases. Food was beautifully presented. Hummus was tasty but on the grainy side, chicken is fine, salmon was perfectly cooked but not seasoned, beets on the side appeared and tasted canned, and the cauliflower medley under it has a somewhat unpleasant bite to it--maybe fennel? Potatoes were delicious so points for that. Food and drink here are wildly expensive--I'm so sorry and I know everything feels expensive right now, but they are. Very much fine-dining prices, which wasn't expected in a neighborhood place. The people here are lovely and it really is a pretty restaurant to sit in. Nice location and atmosphere. The food was average and WAY overpriced. The drinks were small and also WAY overpriced. Service was ok they had bronzino on the menu twice. One was described as a whole fish, which I didn't want so I ordered the other one assuming it was a fillet since it didn't say "whole fish". Well,it was the whole fish. When I was surprised the waitress said "oh, that's a typo". And knowing that, she didn't bother telling me it was the whole fish while placing the order. It took a long time for her to de-bone it. My first bite was raw and disgusting. Couldn't eat it. No one came over to apologize but it was at least taken off of our bill. The meat on the kebab that my friends ordered was very dry. It was a terrible experience that cost us $400.00 for 4 people. We left feeling dissatisfied and ripped off. The one star is for the atmosphere. read more

Nice concept, but not when it's 92 degrees, outside. Makes for uncomfortable and insect-prone dining, inside. And, parking lot is IMPOSSIBLE. Congested to forever. Menu prices are 10% higher than their sister restaurant in Rockville, and this location's menu choices are limited. Lastly, brand new location. Brand new menus. The staff were pleasant and inviting but that is the only positive. They tried hard and it was sad to watch them fail. They are all so young and inexperienced. With prices hovering between 50 and 100 dollars a plate you would think the staff would gladly box up leftovers. We should have gone to Applebees The food we had was brought out cold and flavorless. I think it's a kitchen problem. Perhaps the chef or cook or whoever is also inexperienced. So grateful they opened a second location in Cabin John (other location in Rockville). The food is delicious and the cocktails are thoughtfully curated and SO good. The owner consistently made his rounds throughout the restaurant making sure the food was to their liking and that everybody was happy. He is incredibly personable. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Love the open bar concept with the windows open. It feels like you're on vacation. And yes, is was actually 100 degrees that day and the restaurant was still a cool, comfortable temperature! The place was bustling and every seat was filled all for very good reasons! my new favorite spott!!! we went for our 21st anniversary dinner and everything met our expectations. we got lamb chops with a ouzo fashioned cocktail along with a santorini sunset cocktail which were the perfect balance!! most importantly though our server brianna was an absolute gem. she helped us better understand the menu. she was also very attentive with making sure we had everything we needed. 10/10 overall experience!! read more
