$1,500+ In Damage I hired this company for a move in Northern Virginia. My old and new apartment are about a tenth of a mile apart. This was a small move that only took about 2.5 hours for the 2 employees. Shortly after they finished, I realized that a pair of high end bar stools had been scuffed and cracked in multiple places. One of the stools also had a tear in the leather. It appeared that they had just been placed into the truck on their sides with no blankets or protection. I called management the same day, and they agreed that the damage was unacceptable. The damage to the wood was unfortunate, but mostly cosmetic. The split in the leather, however, would need to be repaired. I agreed with the customer service rep that we would split the cost - My Pro Movers would pay for the shipping of the bar stool to and from an upholsterer, and I would pay for the repair itself. A couple days later, they called me back and said that the shipping costs were more than they expected, and that they would need to re-negotiate. It was a huge red flag for me that they were backing out of an agreed upon deal. I get the sense that each decision made by this company has to go through multiple layers of management, and very few people have any authority to make decisions. Eventually we agreed to a new deal - My Pro Movers would pay for shipping from Virginia to the upholsterer, and I would pay for the repair and return shipping. Upon making this agreement, an employee for the company came and took my barstool. About a week later, I received a message from the upholsterer. They had opened the box sent by MyProMovers, and the stool was literally split in half. There was other major damage to the wood as well - you can see all of this in the pictures. It was packaged insufficiently in an effort to cut costs. I called the customer service representative that I had been working with, and he told me that the company had gone "above and beyond" to help me, and that everyone in the office will be on vacation for two weeks, so I would have to wait two to three weeks for a response. This feels like an outright lie. How can every manager in the company be out at the same time for weeks on end? That is where the situation stands today. I am not allowed to speak to any management, only the one customer service rep. I have no idea if or when anyone will look into this. No one seems interested in reaching out to me. I feel like I have been scammed. I will say that I do not blame the employees that I have dealt with. This company's strategy seems to be to go as fast as possible to get jobs done, and pay out pennies on the dollar for any damages. That mentality comes from leadership. None of the employees are empowered to make decisions. They cut corners leading to the initial damage, and then cut corners again to destroy my property. By doing the bare minimum over and over they have compounded the situation into what it is today. If you have any objects of value I would not consider this company for your move. read more

I won't get into the details of the conversation but they did do the right thing and refund a majority of what I paid them (not all...I did agree to pay for supplies and some labor). THE WORST MOVERS EVER. THE WORST MOVERS EVER. THE WORST MOVERS EVER. WARNING-Just because this company claims that they are "professional movers" does not mean that they are actually professional movers. The only thing professional about MyProMovers is that they charge professional mover prices, but then provide none of the professional mover services. 1-It was supposed to be one day to pack then one day to move. They showed up late the first day, were moving at a snail's pace packing which caused them not to make much progress, and left promptly at 5pm. Then they came back on the moving day and spent the entire day still packing, before loading items on truck. They weren't ready to drive to the new place and start unpacking until 7pm, so they didn't "finish" until 11pm. What was supposed to be only 8 hours of packing magically turned into 16. 2-The manager who had the keys to the truck left the job (yes, he left midway through the move) and took the keys with him. When the other movers were ready to move the truck, they realized they didn't have the keys, and it took 90 minutes to get the keys. 3-For how long they took packing, you'd think everything was packed perfectly. That was not the case. Everything was just left randomly thrown into boxes and labeled "basement". They did this so they wouldn't have to carry the boxes upstairs. They individually wrapped plastic children's bowls but then just tossed expensive picture frames into boxes with vases. Surprise, surprise, things broke. 4-Many items were broken/damaged. Freshly painted walls at the new place were severely scuffed and damaged with holes. 5-They demanded me to sign a piece of paper saying everything was complete with no damage and pay in full while many items were still on the truck and even more items weren't reassembled or in the correct room. I refused and said I'd sign and authorize full payment (which was over $1000 more than the estimate) when the move was complete. Fast and reliable. Workers came on time, courteous and work all the way till it's finished. Easy booking through yelp and very responsive. The price is reasonable but they will charge 3% if you use credit card. They can pack any items necessary. The packing materials is a bit expensive but almost all moving companies charge quite a lot for materials. They also can ensemble and dis ensemble tables and other furniture items. I would recommend them for moving and if I ever need it again I'll definitely call them again. read more

The movers showed up late, which may have been due to Daylight Savings time. They did call with an ETA though, so that was helpful. They got everything in the truck fairly quickly, and moved it all. Didn't see any dings or issues with anything breaking during the move. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is there was a bit of unprofessionalism at the beginning. They showed up arguing and yelling at each other, but once they were "on the clock" they were very professional and nice. I was also quoted 2-3 hours and it took 5. The movers didn't took one bathroom break but otherwise they were moving the whole time so I have no problem that it took 5 hours. My wallet just wasn't prepared to spend an extra $200ish. PROTIP - Expect to pay an hour or two more for the move and if they finish early, that's money you save. read more

Needless to say, I was extremely impressed with the prompt, respectful, professional service of the 3 guys who packed up our home, to move us from Mission Viejo, CA to Texas! Tommy, who I dealt with at My Pro Movers, sent the best TEAM to do the hard work. Victor was at the helm, and he covered every detail. He took us around the house, making notes about items to be moved, then explained the whole process, answering every question we had. Each of the gentlemen knew their job, and did it with the utmost care and consideration of property. No shortcuts here! They wrapped, taped and covered every item to insure it's safety. They were constantly moving from 9:30 am till 5 pm, taking a brief 1/2 hr lunch. I was amazed, and highly impressed! THEY WERE PROS! They never a waisted moment. Procedures were followed as promised, they were masked and followed Covid protocol. Unfortunately, with covid, no one was sent out ahead of time to assess everything that would be moved, it was all done over the phone. I personally would have liked that. However, although the truck looked smaller than I had anticipated, their expertise showed me a thing or two. IT WORKED just fine. I would not hesitate to use MY PRO MOVERS again. They are storing our furniture until March 2021, as we're waiting for our home to finish being built. I will add to this review when the furniture is delivered and set up. If I could give MyProMovers zero stars I would. Booking the move was simple and straight forward, but that was the only thing simple and straight forward. On the moving day, the guys showed up 30 minutes early and called once they arrived. Most companies call when they are on their way and give you a 30 minute notice. That wasn't a big deal because my wife and I were awake and ready. Near the end of our move is when the issues began and continue to this day. One of the movers came to us and said they broke the leg of our TV and they would not charge us for packing materials. No big deal until we plugged the TV in and turned it on. The TV was fuzzy and only showed black and white, which after talking to others, they clearly dropped the TV and tried to hide it. It is one thing to break something and tell us, it is another to try to hide it from us. After talking to Nick, we learned their insurance would only pay us $21, which after negotiation we managed to get $100 for a broken $500 TV. The worst part was the condescending email I received from Nick about how we should always keep the TV box for when we move. Who has space to keep TV boxes? The movers damaged the wall in the one bedroom while moving/putting the bed together. I didn't bring this up to the moving company since it is an easy fix, but they again tried to hide this. The only reason I knew it happened was because I was standing there watching them. Here we are, almost a month after our move and finally fully unpacked and we find that we are missing items. We have at least one box missing from our move that has various kitchen items in them (Pyrex bowls, mixing bowls, etc.). They aren't in our old apartment because nothing was left for our walk through and we have all boxes unpacked where we are. My best guess is that the people we hired took them, but unfortunately, I don't have proof and can't prove they did. I should add one more thing. Nick continues to be condescending in his tone of his emails. The unprofessional conduct alone is enough to tell people to stay away. To end this longer review, just don't do it. Great movers! My movers were very fast and efficient. Granted, I only had a few boxes, a bed, small desk, dresser, and small bookshelf. They dissembled my bed very quickly - something I would not have been able to do by myself. My new location was around a 25 minute drive, and once they got to my new place, it only took around 3 trips to get all my stuff into the apartment. They reassembled my bed very quickly too. The only thing is that my mattress is dirty from dragging it on the floor, but that's my fault. They asked me whether I wanted my mattress wrapped and I said no, because I thought it would take more time. I didn't realize it would get dirty - so I recommend wrapping it! For 2.5 hours, it was around 280 bucks and with tip around 350. Very cheap, efficient, and great. Also, they offer a 5% student discount but also if you pay with CC, they charge an extra 5% (so they cancelled each other out). They don't take checks, so be ready to pay in cash or CC. read more

A friend of mine highly recommended my pro movers and said great things about their service. I gave them a call and I immediately felt like they were good people, just by the tone of their voice and the fact that they genuinely heard me out. They were warm and asked me a few questions about my move and went over all my options. They answered all my questions in detail and I felt a sense of comfort right away. They require a deposit and follow up with an email confirmation right away. They called on the week of my move and sent out 2 guys to move my belongings on the day of. The guys were extremely nice and professional, they worked amazingly fast and were gentle with my belongings. They disassembled and reassembled my bed and even fixed my wobbly TV, that I originally put together. They had no problem navigating to my new place in the city and were equally fast bringing everything into my new home. When I originally spoke to them they predicted my move would take about 3 hours and sure enough, it took them 3 hours. These guys truly went above and beyond. This "team" of movers appeared to have NEVER done this before in their lives. Their lead mover was a college kid from Florida, just in town for a short time and needed work. They had no experience whatsoever. They showed up for a very long day without any water or lunch. We fed them and ended up buying them two cases of water- and they left empty water bottles all around our property. They unloaded the truck and would bring things in and drop them in doorways, at the top of stairs, completely blocking all entrances to bring in more - let alone large furniture, which they decided to bring in last. I seriously went into every room, emptied it, reorganized the best I could, so that they could bring in furniture. They banged up our nearly brand new black stainless refrigerator horribly. We're at a loss with it and will need to order new doors from Samsung to fix it. The house was freshly painted prior to moving in. They banged up every wall in the stairways, halls, and then some. My husband can fix and patch drywall pretty inexpensively, but matching paint is no fun. Here's the most disturbing part of it all. We documented these accidents on the paperwork given to sign in the end while paying for the service. We reached out to Nick DiMoro about these concerns. After a long stressful conversation, he offered to reimburse us $100. He said things like, "we are NOT going to buy you a brand new refrigerator" and "you aren't being receptive of my solution". $100 doesn't pay for a new Samsung fridge door, let alone two doors. He's been completely unprofessional and rude throughout this entire experience. Not the service we paid for. Find someone else. Don't waste your money!!! read more

I was very happy with the scheduling and general professionalism. I scheduled a move in June 2020. They were to arrive at 9:00am with 5 people. They arrived after 2pm with 3 people. They called me 3 times in the morning to adjust the time. I felt a bit worried but was at their mercy. After several hours of work, a few more helpers arrived. They all worked very hard and were very careful with our boxes, furnishings and making sure they were placed in the right location in our new home. After sometime we began to realize that our beds seemed to be wobbling, all three of them! My husband who is handy had to go through and tighten every. single. screw. When he got to my daughter's bed, we realized that the entire headboard was just placed above her bed and not screwed in at all. Not only that the pieces were just GONE! (Our theory is that is was late and someone just tossed them, ugh). I called them and they were very nice, offering to find the pieces and come back and fix it. Wonderful, just what they were supposed to do! But unfortunately after a couple weeks of promises and no shows still no progress. Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend this company despite that they are nice and present themselves professionally I think corners were cut that could have been potentially very dangerous! read more

I needed to move from one building to the one right next to it - so this was a short distance moving. I called MyProMovers, explained what exactly needs to be done and I was told that the move would take 3 to 4 hours to complete. Oh yeah, the guys on the phone informed me that the company would charge on hourly basis, which makes sense. 1) Time: on the move date the guys showed up on time and got to work. 6 (!) hours later I was told that my stuff didn't fit into one truck and they would do two loads which was fine with me as long as I hoped every furniture piece would be moved. I was assured that the longest part was completed and they would finish up unloading in 1.5 hr. However, that didn't include the furniture assembly part! All in all, guys "finished" the work in 10 hrs, they were complaining that management didn't send enough people all the while knowing that one of the movers had worked 8 hrs till 1 am the previous night!! After they left I had to move a large glass TV stand and another wooden stand, glass bookcase, 65'' TV and 45'' TV, small kitchen appliances like coffeemaker/pressure cooker and all glass and silverware by myself cause I had to let them go after 10 hrs of work!! 2) Quality: a) Bedstand with one broken leg, when I brought it up one of the guys showed me his deeply scratched knee and said he fell, so I just let it go. b) wooden dining table top chipped. c) Glass table screws lost - so can't fix the top - can't use with kids around. d) bunk bed's side storage bin leg is broken etc, not to mention misplaced screws from other furniture pieces- they were just hammered in at random spots. 3) Management/ Customer Service - when I called to say that the work took 10 hrs instead of 3-4hr per estimate because the office sent too few men and that was the wrong call of the sales office - not mine, not only the guy one the phone didn't acknowledge their mistakes but wanted to threaten me with calling the police!! *facepalm* But the worst part was when I said that I'd seen how hard the movers were working so I would pay the charge including the tips using my card over the phone, the phone guy agreed to give the tips to crew when they got back to office and a minute later I overheard that he was telling the crew that they wouldn't get the tips!!! read more

I had the best moving experience with Tony and Ben. They were extremely efficient and were very quick about getting stuff from point A to point B. They even agreed to pick up a couch from the other end of town and were particular about getting back on time so as not to incur an overcharge. In addition to the truck and heavy lifting, they also help you dismantle large furniture and pack it up in preparation for transportation. For a single person with just enough stuff that is tough to move by yourself, this is an excellent, extremely cost-efficient option in the area. 10/10 will use for moving again. read more

The guys at MyProMovers did a great job! They showed up on time and ready to work. They worked quickly, took good care of my belongings, and never complained once; even after I added more stuff to the list. I had a lot of stuff and the guys moved everything I asked them to! They did manage to break one of the little plastic wheels on my elliptical machine, but I'm pretty sure I find another wheel on eBay for $5. These guys were great. They were quick to respond with a reasonable quote. I contacted several companies at the same time, but MyProMovers had the best hourly rate & they didn't charge extra for stairs or have 3 hour minimums like some of their competitors. They arrived timely, and worked efficiently to get the job done. Most importantly they were careful with my belongings. They unloaded a storage POD into two separate condos, and another room full of boxes down two flights of stairs. Everything went as planned with no surprises or issues & they worked extremely hard. We hired Mypro movers because we had a very short move within McLean. So we were doing most of it on our own and only needed them to move furniture and a few already packed boxes. They were very polite, kept working efficiently as possible for two people. They came prepared with all supplies, were very careful with our things and also asked questions about whether we needed certain pieces wrapped. We had a misunderstanding over the price when the move was completed. But when we talked about it with them they were willing to honor our understanding.
