I immediately note 2019 ???? I've been going to Vanilla DDS regularly since 2015. During my visit on Wednesday, he showed me a big dark cavity at the base of my tooth, then he said the good news. No root canal needed. However, it does need a crown as the solution. I've been telling them for years that I've had a bad taste in my mouth, and they said nothing about the cavity they knew was growing on tooth 32 since 2019. They left that decaying tooth in the back of my mouth until it needed a $900 crown instead of a $50 filling. I've also had other major work done with them. Not a word. Stay away! Unethical at the minimum, evil at most. I literally don't know what to say. No, I have to add this to my list of ways to avoid being taken advantage of.

Despite good detail dental work, I stopped coming to this facility years ago because AFTER paying…read moremy bill in full of $5000. (Crown work) according to their "dental treatment plan" they said I owed an additional amount. I found it odd because I had paid everything already out of pocket. Fast forward, recently my new dentist was out on maternity leave. I was at a time crunch. Therefore, i returned to Denton Smiles and saw Dr. Tran again. They supplied me with a complete and detailed "treatment plan" including x-rays. Again it was several thousand dollars. I'm a senior citizen living on a small fixed retirement pension, but am serious and responsible about paying my debts even if I use credit cards. Again this time I paid punctually 2 large payments over a few thousand. Again, after a month of having paid my bill (treatment plan") and dental work was completed, mysteriously i was billed an additional $200. dollars. Now every week i receive a harassing text of owing $200. I have called, I politely emailed and texted. But no answer or response. I requested a meeting with their accounts manager to show them a copy of their treatment plan and the payments I made that paid it in full. No response not even out of courtesy! Total I paid this practice $10,000 ! All to Denton Smiles. Their behavior can put responsible paying patients with good credit into a debt collection agency that ruins their credit! CAUTION: This facility does not keep their word nor respects their own treatment plans and bills they provide to patients. Even when you pay in full out of pocket and clarify insurance doesn't cover it (which they already know) they'll look for a reason to bill you a month or two AFTER you've already paid your bill in full. These are deceptive practices squeezing additional money out of responsible patients and worse ruining one's good credit. Months later, I am still waiting for the appointment to settle the matter.

We prepaid their annual in house plan for our 3 children (7, 4, 2) - $150/child for a total of $450. The in house plan was supposed to cover 2 exams, 2 cleanings and x-rays for the year. Unfortunately, our visit didn't go well. The office apparently isn't equipped with an x-ray device small enough for children's mouths. The technician accidentally hurt the inside of my 7 year old's mouth while attempting to get the x rays. This unfortunately upset him and the tech prepared a topical numbing agent for his cleaning (this seemed crazy to me as I have never hear of using a topical to make a cleaning "more comfortable" as she described it). I was very surprised this was prepared without asking me if it was ok. Maybe they would have asked prior to applying it, but it was locked and loaded so to speak. The dentist then explained that he had 3 cavities to be filled (in front of him) which caused him to get even more upset. I had him calmed down and she mentioned referring us to an orthodontist where they can determine if he needs braces. This sent him in to a crying freak out. Upon which she suggested we wait to do his cleaning until he's under nitros with his cavity filling. We scheduled the next appointment and they said they'd contact me with pricing to fill the cavities. This kiddo has seen a dentist twice a year since he was 3 years old and has NEVER even been nervous. They were unable to x-ray my 4 year old because "her mouth was too small" for their equipment however she did receive her cleaning. My 2 year old received a cleaning and no x rays due to his age. I asked the desk clerk what the plan would be moving forward regarding getting x rays for my 4 year old and my very soon to be 3 year old for his next visit. She said she would speak to the dentist about maybe ordering a smaller device. After discussing the experience with my husband we decided this was not a good fit for our kids. My husband called and left a message to discuss canceling our appointment and requested a partial refund for the services paid for and not rendered (since we wouldn't be returning for our 2nd set of semi-annual check-ups). The next communication was to call me with a voicemail telling me the price of the cavity filling procedure, making no mention of the message my husband left. He called once again and left a message. The office staff attempted to reach him but he didn't answer so she called me. This is long so I'll summarize: they told us we were due zero refund since, had we not done the in house plan, our services would have been more than what we had paid for the year a la carte. She even sent me a link to a website to "educate me on fair pricing for dentistry." I did not expect a full refund. I would have been satisfied with any effort to refund a portion of the prepaid services. Considering we received less than 1/2 the services promised to no fault of our own, I was shocked they have refused to refund any of our money. They only offered to conduct the cleaning when I come back, however there was absolutely no was I was taking my son back. He was TERRIFIED. I chose to take my son elsewhere for his cleaning (of which I had to pay for again) and was told he only needed 2 fillings and no need to consult an orthodontist at this point. He was so scared from his prior experience, he couldn't stop crying. Again, he has never shed a tear in a dentist's office. Thankfully we chose a SPECTACULAR pediatric dentist and he was able to completely turn it around and my son was all smiles when he got his fillings done. I would not recommend this office for children or anyone else for that matter due to their business practices.

Every time I talked to that woman I feel a strong dislike after she caused me to pay extra a few times and then denied it. They over charge and their administration is not good. For example, they charge for Novocain (like $150) and have other add ons so that they can get more from the customer, even though they have insurance. We changed dentists for a couple of crowns and weren't charged those extras. Also, the dentist is very happy but talks over the patient so, every time I would come in, she would make fun of my name and then chat away with the hygienist instead of talking to me. I can't tell you how dismissed I felt by her. So, I loved the woman who cleaned my teeth but she is no longer there so I have switched to another dentist.

I have been to Dr. Holmgreen for a number of years. Have found everyone to be pleasant and easy to…read morework with. Unfortunately had a crown needing replacement and she elected to do the one next to it at the same time. The work took 2 hours and never have I had a needle for numbing cause the discomfort / pain I experienced. The temporary crown was ill fitting and caused me to bite the inside of my mouth when eating. A few days later it broke and came out. The permanent replacements were also ill fitted. The bite was high and a sharp edge was left which irritated my tongue. Went back and had some adjustments made but did little to correct the High and Off center bite. Any pressure on those while eating cause discomfort. After two different consultations with other DDS. Both said unfortunately they will need to be replaced. One did take the time to correct her work and give me a "normal" bite. Left his office this morning with two new temporary crowns and little to no discomfort while in his chair. I wish her and her staff well but I will not return. My wife just told me a filling that was put in last week came out this morning........wonderful just wonderful.
