Buyers Beware!! We…read moreare having an awful experience with this company. They used a classic "bait and switch" technique on us. My wife and I "own" the solar panels that came attached to our new DR Horton home; however, after living in the house for one year, we decided to purchase additional solar panels from an agent we encountered at a kiosk at the local mall. The friendly sales agent visited our home a few times in an effort to convince us, because I was beginning to get a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach. With each visit, the salesman commended us on making such a wise decision to "purchase" solar panels. He discussed all the tax benefits that come along with solar panel ownership, before finally having us sign a digital contract on his hand-held device. Immediately, I asked for a copy of the contract I had just signed, but I was told that the installer would bring the contract to our home in a matter of weeks. However, weeks later, when the installers arrived they had no contract for us. They told us the contract would most likely come in the mail. (Well, it never arrived.) Now that it's February, it's time for us to prepare our taxes. Hence, we telephoned the company to inquire about when we could expect to receive solar panel tax documents. To our astonishment, we were told that we hadn't "purchased" the panels; rather, that we are "leasing" them from the company. Furthermore, the agent suggested that their company would be receiving the tax credits, not us. We rushed to our filing cabinet, in search of our contract, only to discover that it was never sent to us! We would never "lease" solar panels from anyone!! Even when we first purchased our home, we were faced the choice to either "lease" the panels that came with our home, or "purchase" them. We Purchased them. That was a No-brainer decision to make. Similarly, we would never then choose to "lease" solar panels from this new, particularly-deceptive company. We plan to fight this tooth and nail.
