I needed it fixed quickly so the contractor can continue his work without me staying here 24/7. I also wanted a quality opener with a decent price and good workmanship by the installer. I called EZ Garage Door and they met all these requirements with flying colors. I contacted EZ and its owner, Robert, responded immediately. He was on vacation but scheduled me the next day after his vacation ended. He offered me a free inspection to find the problem I was having, but I already was planning to have a new opener installed. As a courtesy, he sent me a list of openers I could have installed, with the total OTD price for whichever one I chose. He had at least 7-8 to choose from. He installs only quality brands and is very knowledgeable of what each can do, which depends on what you want the new opener to do. He arrived at the scheduled time and was ready to install immediately, since I had already chosen the opener I wanted. Robert is extremely knowledgeable and very prepared to do the job. He had to work around a "remodel in process", but had no issues or problems with the situation. He said it would take about 90 minutes to complete the job: 60 to complete the installation and 30 to explain any and all nuances of my new opener. The installation was very clean and professional. I not only want quality but appearance as well. It must be good AND look good. Robert was excellent! It looks clean. He spent the last few minutes explaining all the new functions of my new opener and how to use them. If you haven't purchased an opener in years, BE READY FOR AN EXPERIENCE! They have modernized the opener to meet today's automation. My business with EZ Garage Doors was a great experience. Robert is young, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. He's clean, organized and leaves no trace of even being here. He truly deserves a 5 star rating, and if you're looking to replace or upgrade your opener, this is the place to go. There are a couple more I would consider doing business with because I've dealt with them before, but Robert is the cream of the crop. The second time I called because of continuous leakage, the same man came, and PERSONALLY squeezed the rubber seal and saw the water leak from inside. They never did, and I finally went in person to resolve this issue, and the owner didn't have an answer or a solution, and didn't want to refund my money after I told her they could uninstall the seal. This is my money that they are keeping for their poor quality of work, plus no apologies or attempts to find a solution. She had two opportunities to resolve this matter, one in person before the review, the other over the phone after the review. I asked for answers, she "didn't know" even though she makes the decision(s). She wasn't interested in what I was explaining. The service was paid for and it wasn't for free, and there wasn't a discount or anything of that sort. I didn't ask for a refund; however, that's all she can do at this point since the issue is much worse now, not to mention the hassle and trouble it caused me personally. I was disappointed in the lack of pricing transparency.I was quoted one price and when I received…read morethe invoice which included the down payment,and the balance once the job was completed with taxes and credit card service fee.The salesman was informative and did a visual inspection of the garage door,but I was concerned because there no break down of costs and fees associated with what the items costs.He insisted I had to give a $700 down payment before the door could be ordered. it I knew if I was getting the basic door the next morning that their third party vendor had the panels for the garage in stock.I requested not to bring a refurbished door but to provide to me the manufacturer paperwork for the door but the day of install said the manufacturer paperwork only comes with an wind insulated door.The invoice said I owed the balance of$1225.25 .The installer came and said there is no paperwork for the door and the salesman told me he would send the warranty paperwork after the remaining payment was processed.When I got the invoice again after paying the balance payment ,there were an additional $509.63 payment added without my authorization.He added the $509 and said it was for labor,gas and pickup for materials .The installer worked for 2 hours. I felt like it is a deceptive tactic the company uses.The labor costs should have been on the first of 2 invoices that I received on the 7th but modified after work was done on the 8th and not showing me the invoice prior to charging my credit card with the breakdown of costs of items and labor .Which I still don't know the price of the door.I am a senior citizen and every penny counts.I k know companies need to make a profit ,but not at the detriment of others.The salesman and installers were pleasant ,but transparency and integrity is what keeps a customer returning.Word to the wise:Don't let a salesman talk you into anything until you get another quote.Otherwise you might end up thinking about this adage:You are peeling on my leg and telling me it's raining.Would have gotten a 4 if pricing was transparent. to me.I am hurt and $500 poorer.
