My husband had a root canal done a year ago with Dr. Bhatia. The cap fell off 4 months later. We called and they said they would fix it. He had it fixed and 2 months later it fell again. I asked for a refund and they were not inclined as "this happens". We went to a new dentist that fixed it and noted that it would have to be redone. After multiple attempts we have not been able to get the money refunded or the claim removed off our insurance to have the work redone by our new dentist. Root canals are intended to last at least 7 years for insurance to cover them again and now we are stuck paying out of pocket because Bhatia will not release the claim. The tooth now has to be extracted. After 3 visits to Bhatia is just didn't make sense to continue to go back to "fix it" and now my husband has to loose this tooth. read more

First off, I have never written a negative review but my purpose is to forewarn anyone considering this dentist. I am new to my HMO dental insurance and this was my "assigned" dentist! I went in for a teeth cleaning as part of my regular maintenance of my oral care. Dr. Bhatia told me I needed xrays and a "deep cleaning" since I was older and had lots of crowns. She said my cost was 245. I was a bit shocked since all insurance work usually includes zero cost xrays and teeth cleaning. She went on about her own costs of insurance with her own children. I should of left then. My "deep cleaning" was far less then anything Ive ever had done at all my great dentists over the years. She was rough and quick. I told her assistant I still felt the rough tarter behind my teeth. She came in, looked at it moved her dental pick around doing nothing and told me it just feels different for a while and I would get used to it! I felt like she thought I was stupid and she wasnt about to continue doing a normal, proper cleaning. Then the assistant said she wanted to put solution around my gums and I told her I didnt need it. The dentist came back in and said I needed it to prevent bacteria. I said ok, not knowing that was an upcharge. They couldnt bill me until after the weekend as their office manager was out. I left very disappointed, went home and called my insurance and discovered that my gut was right and she was billing me for things my insurance covered. I went back Monday morning to discuss this matter got the insurance rep on the phone and they were told that my work was zero cost to me except a code she used for the deep cleaning would cost me 71. I asked her to explain the difference to me in a normal teeth cleaning and a "deep" one. She couldnt explain it and I explained back that I had experienced many teeth cleanings and none this limited and that I didnt appreciate her not telling me about the upcharge and further telling me I owed money which was insurance covered items. She kicked me out of her office after I told her I would not give her a good review and she said I was blackmailing her. I want to write an update about my experience because I have since met with other specialists and oral surgeons about my condition. They officially diagnosed me with ectodermal dysplasia, which is something that Dr. Bhatia never brought up to me. This is important because this makes treatment more complicated. Dr. Bhatia was ready to jump right into giving me implants and creating a whole treatment plan for me without even checking on what condition I may have. She was too concerned with the money and kept asking me if I had called my insurance company. This shows that she did not have experience treating someone with my condition but was willing to do it anyway, even if it would have caused me harm. I have since met with honest specialists who have had to refer me to various other places because they admitted to not having enough experience treating someone with my condition. If you have a significant dental or medical condition, I want to emphasize that this is not the place for you. I would have much more respect for Dr. Bhatia if she told me from the start that she didn't have experience treating someone with my condition, and it would be best for me to receive treatment elsewhere. This experience has been traumatic for me because now I am hesitant about trusting any dental professional, but I have hope that I have found a new trustworthy dentist. I never got a call back from her about charging me $260 for "fixing" my Snap On device (which again, was her fault that it broke in the first place), and then the "fix" didn't even work. I was having pain that I suspected to be a wisdom tooth, so I came here out of a recommendation from a friend. While the wait time was longer than what I expected I was just happy to get an appointment on such a short notice. After I had been called in, I had X-rays done by Elizabeth. Because my mouth was in pain the x-rays were slightly uncomfortable but she was very careful to not cause any additional discomfort. Dr. Bhatia was very caring and took the time to explain what she found in my X-rays. I haven't had been to a dentist in a few years so she talked me through the work she recommended to have done. As for the extraction itself, it was fairly quick and simple. Dr. Bhatia talked me through every step from numbing all the way through the actual extraction. My daughter has a genetic birth defect, which caused her to have missing teeth. Dr. Bhatia was more interested in my dental and medical insurance than my daughter's health. She immediately said that dental insurance is bad and we should dip into our medical insurance. However, she did not hesitate to charge our dental insurance hundreds of dollars when she pulled a couple of my daughter's baby teeth! Yes! My insurance was billed! She said she knew medical insurance can be could billed but had no idea how it could be done. All she saw was big dollar signs! She is very ignorant about my daughter's birth defect. She gave us NO diagnosis. She didn't even know what it was called! She pulled baby teeth which should not have been done, causing my daughter's appliance to crack and break. The appliance should've been filled for support. When it BROKE my daughter asked her to fix it and she charged her $260, and she didn't even repair it correctly. It was the dentist's fault that the appliance broke! My daughter made a good move and took it to another dentist. He repaired it, charging her nothing to repair it. Furthermore, the people in her office told me I haven't had my teeth cleaned there in a long time. This was very odd because I had just gotten my teeth cleaned the week before. It was like the girl was just trying to SELL me something. Trust is a big issue in this office and I would definitely not trust this doctor and anything she does. Hello I wanted to write a review about my experience at this dental office. After doing reviews online about this dental Office and coming across a Groupon deal I decided to give them a try for a cleaning. The staff upfront is very pleasant but the overall experience was awful. The dentist came in To speak to me and basically sized me up. She asked me question about what I did for a living and if my business had been impacted by Covid-19 and I explained to her that no my business that I own was very steady throughout the pandemic. Then she asked me what I was there for and I explained that I needed a cleaning before the 28th of this month because I was getting my veneers on that day. So then she proceeds to go over my X-rays and tell me all this stuff about my teeth and that I needed additional work done before I should even think about getting veneers and that the issues I have just didn't happen and that it's been like that for years. Please keep in mind that I go to the dentist at least 3 times a year to get my teeth cleaned and my regular dentist never told me any of this about my teeth nor did the dentist that is doing my veneers next week. I only went to this dentist because my normal dentist's daughter has cancer and he has closed his practice. The dentist did a half ass job cleaning my teeth I can feel Tatar build up on the back of my teeth that she left behind and to be honest I think the cleaning lasted maybe about 3 minutes. So add that on top of the fact that she was completely trying to up sell me already and then to do a horrible job cleaning my teeth. The worst experience I have ever had at the dentist. I would never go back there again nor would I recommend anyone else going there to this dentist. Try another dentist's office hopefully its better than this one. read more

Full transparency, I never loved going to the dentist in general, BUT I know it's important and after having Dr. Bhatia work on my teeth, I feel comfortable and confident. I'm a working mom and find that I often put my doctor visits on the back burner, so I love that the staff always keeps me update to date with an easy text message reminder. Even easier, I can text them back if I need to rescheduled my appointment. They are so flexible and truly put the patient first.
