Had a great 2 nights at Mystic. Patrick and his family were great hosts. We grabbed a Redwood baby from the store as well as a cool coffee cup. The general store is well stocked and he has fresh coffee and espresso drinks. We saw our first banana slug of the trip. Dog park is excellent- and that was a huge determination in our decision. Lots of trails and berries. Definitely will be back. read more

I had to leave early because of a family emergency, but I'll be back! This site was AWESOME! The owners are friendly and courteous. The whole site is very beautifully maintained. The campsites are very good sized, and come with fire pits as well as tables. It's a place you can come to and feel relaxed, safe, and in awe of the beauty around you. There are bathrooms with showers, and are kept super clean. There is a building with a pool table, as well as a bookcase of books you can read. There are spots for RV's, and then sites for tents. It's only 1 mile away from Trees of Mystery and Forest Cafe. I loved the gift shop too. We have decided to make this place our yearly destination. Thank you so much! read more

"This is the my favorite campground we've ever stayed at!" -my daughter. I found Mystic Forest a couple mi this when planning our families summer vacation. I had checked out some other places but had a good feeling about this one. I called and spoke with Carolyn and knew we needed to come. I am so glad we stayed here! The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. We were close to all the Redwood National Forest locations we wanted to see. We took a day to travel south. Carolyn helped us map out what was best to see. The property is beautiful. We lived staying here. You have this beautiful connection of Redwood Forest and amazing trees. There is a cute walk around the property. The kids loved playing mini golf. Did I mention there is a free min golf course! The kids loved it! Our site was epic. Very quite. Really the freshener our family needed in there interesting times. The bathrooms were super clean. Free showers! We're still new to this. You can get ice and firewood onsite. There is a great little gift shop. We picked up some shirts for the kids and postcards to show our family what they are missing. Don't forget that we grabbed an ice cream! The location ideal. For 10 years this has been our family vacation. We absolutely love it here. Tom and Carolyn are amazing, they are so helpful and gave us a map of all the places we should check out. The park is perfect whether you have kids or not. The play area is great! They add things periodically but my kids love the tractor tires!!! the miniature golf is so much fun, they have a small arcade my kids love..The bathrooms are always clean. We love the nature walk, we walk it a few times a day. This is always our destination spot and we come from Southern California to camp here. We also have stayed in their cabin, which we love also. Loved this campground! We stayed here for 1 night on our road trip to Oregon.. super close to trees of mystery! 1/8 of a mile to be exact. Owner was super nice and basically let us pick out our site. There was a bike/walking trail behind the park our kids loved! Mini golf was a huge hit too. Their game room was a nice touch since it rained a little.. sites are huge and ever know you're close to one another if full you feel very secluded ! Love and will return! read more

Beautiful campground in the heart of the redwoods. The site was level and had all the hookups. I was given a back in site that was nestled in the trees. It had a very rustic feel to it. I've never before camped in a place quite like it. My kids really liked the mini golf and horseshoes. The nature walk on the back side was really nice. My dog seemed to really enjoy the forest smells. Keep your eye out for banana slugs. Weird creatures, but neat to see. The bathrooms and laundry facilities were spotless. The owner was very helpful and had very detailed maps on places to see in the area. Thanks to him, we saw some incredible sights - ocean, river, forest, everything. We even caught a glimpse of a bear nearby. It's a very short drive to the Trees of Mystery. Classic American roadside attraction. If you need a place to stay to explore the redwoods, check this place out. you won't regret it. read more

The new owners really love this park. They're a wonderful couple with two adorable children, but I think they're a little overwhelmed right now. Hopefully, as they catch up with much-needed repairs and upgrades, they'll have a little room to breathe and settle in. It's in a great location and the RV spots look great. We stayed in the 8 year old cabin/park model, and it's sorely in need of attention. The other cabin/park model is brand new, so I suspect it's in perfect condition; hopefully they'll soon find time to work on the older one. It was pretty clean inside when we arrived, so that was nice. But, it needs a complete overhaul, from top to bottom and front to back. It's useable as is, but really needs a deep cleaning, especially outside. The kitchen really needs a thorough going over, including cleaning out and wiping down the cupboards, throwing out the odds and ends left from various campers, upgrading the pots, pans, utensils, small appliances, etc. They are looking into a better wi-fi system and they're aware the system currently in place is woefully inadequate. The mini golf game needs attention, the pool table is useless at the moment, so they also need to work on those. Personally I'd get rid of the pool table as apparently it's been severely abused by disrespectful campers, and likely will continue to be. It's sad that some people have a total lack of respect for the property of others, but seemingly that's the world we live in today. If they keep the pool table, I'd suggest keeping the balls and cues in the office and loan them out so, if anyone destroys them again they'll know who did it. Maybe require a deposit to check them out? We stayed at a campground in a unit similar to this one a few years back for 2 months, and we had to check out the pool table equipment, and also the key to the rec room, if we wanted to play. As a result, it was always in great shape and we enjoyed many nights of pool while there. This park has the potential to be absolutely wonderful with some repairs and upgrades-hopefully they'll soon be able to do them, or have them done. read more

In September 2022, we had the privilege to stay at Mystic Forest RV Park in Klamath, CA. Upon arrival, we found we lost a wheel and needed to repair our fifth wheel. After conferring with the Park owner, Tom put us in a larger spot and allowed us to repair our trailer at the campsite. He provided knowledge, tools as needed, and a source for the parts we needed to complete our repairs. We had to extend our stay a few days to complete our repairs and Carolyn moved the schedule to assist us. Tom and Carolyn had compassion and helpfulness we had not found in other RV parks or campgrounds. They were available when we needed assistance. The Park is open and easy to maneuver. There is a walking trail about 1/2 mile long circling the Park in the forest and an 18 hole mini golf course to idle time away waiting for parts and supplies. We didn't use the restrooms or facilities but the lodge has a store and gift shop. We have no children or pets but there is a nice playground and dog walking area. We stayed at Mystic Forest RV Park one other time and now it will be our go to stop on the California Coast. read more

We had a great time here! Got in a little late but Tom was nice enough to open the office and get us checked in. Knowing we had kids with us he let us play in the rec room as late as we wanted as long as we promised to turn off the light when we were done. The place is BEAUTIFUL!!! Right in the heart of the redwoods. Trees of Mystery is just down the highway. They also had really nice warm showers!! Definitely recommend stopping by! read more

July 21, 2020 We stayed at Mystic Forest 3 nights. Our 4 grandkids ages 5, 6, 7 and 8 years old loved it! We were beneath the Redwood Trees. Very close to all the major hiking areas! Our grandkids are pretty active and they hiked the Tall Trees Grove (Permit Required) and Fern Canyon. Kids played miniature golf daily and rode their bikes around after their daily hikes. Stayed here for 4 days over the July holiday. A really great experience. Privately owned and it shows. The owners are just fantastic people. They live here and are always avail for help or questions. Salt of the earth great people. We have 4 kids, 8 total in our group and everyone had a fantastic time. We ventured out during the day to the beach and woods and have a wonderful time. There is a playground and mini golf on site here for kids, plus a game room. It is quiet here and everyone is very respectful. On the 4th the owners put on a free BBQ for everyone! Just bring a drink. Pretty awesome. I saw someone pull in at 11pm last night and the owner came out to help him park and setup. Another example of how great these folks are. This is the best RV park location if you are going to see the Trees of Mystery. The facility is clean and the service was very good. The couple who owns the place were very friendly to us. I like that they greeted us with smiles when we entered the office/store. The hookups are pretty easy to use. The only thing I didn't like about the place is that most of the RV spaces are very close to each other. The best part is that the trees of mystery is about 2 miles from this RV park. Our 5 star rating is based on having spots 1 - 5 on this property. The rest is open field RV park. The first spots are in Redwood shade and offer a bit of privacy. The showers are very, very clean the owners could not be nicer. The location is central to everything you'd want to see in the area. We skipped the touristy Trees of Mystery and headed north past Crescent City to Jedediah Smith SP. We also headed south to a (foggy) overlook where the river meets the ocean and spent the afternoon quite busy with activities recommended by the camps owners. There was power outage while we were there, but there was no helping that. On our rating scale of.... 5. Plan on it 4. Worth an hour drive 3. Back up 2. Only if you have to 1. We took our 3 young children on a 10 day motorhome trip up the coast. I am so happy we found this place and it was also the nicest place we stayed on our trip. As others have stated the owners are so friendly, considerate and treat you as friends. We arrived after hours and my kids needed to stretch....seeing this they opened to give us golf clubs to play on their mini golf course before the sun set. Big hit! They were also one of the cheapest places we stayed and by far the cleanest bathrooms we used. We walked across the street to a little café with friendly people and good food. Right before we left we let the kids choose something in their store and I noticed most of the same merchandise as other Redwood retailers but their prices were much much cheaper. Stayed here in the off-season, so the play structure and the miniature golf-course were not up and running. We would still absolutely come back here again. If nothing else just because the woman running the place is so fantastic! We stayed here for one month in January 2018 and would absolute stay here again. The woods around it are gorgeous, our site was flat and well kept. My daughter made a little fairy house and left it in one of the trees. I hope we can get back and see it someday. read more

My husband and I have decided to make this our annual labor day getaway. We stayed at this Park last year with our pop up tent trailer but this year we wanted to take our Jeep without towing a trailer so we opted to rent their Cabin. What a great place! The cabin is clean, cozy and convenient. It had everything we needed to cook meals and spend more time out exploring. We love the location of the park, it is central to everything we wanted to do. The park is clean and well kept. The nights are peaceful and there is a beautiful trail that goes around the park where you can pick blackberries along the way. Another great feature is that they are dog friendly! One more thing! The owners are great! Super friendly and helpful! Highly reccomend staying here for your redwoods trip! I don't often review anything. But this park deserves a great one. We've stayed at this park twice. Both times we absolutely loved it. Both times we've been it's been the off season and we just about had the place to ourselves. It's always clean! The owners are sooooo friendly and deserve to be recognized for keeping such a great place. I see they're selling and it makes me sad. We travel a LOT, as my wife is a flight attendant, and we also backpack and tent camp all over the western US. This our favorite place to stay in the entire world. Yes the owners seem like old friends, and the bathrooms are super clean, but it's the overall ambiance that just can't be put into words. Just 2-3 miles north on 101 is a world class coastal trail hike, and to the south is a 15 mi "parkway" that was the old highway with numerous otherworldly hikes through the redwoods. We stay in the tent camping part of the park, and we are always sad to have to move on. To give a little perspective, our second and third favorite places to stay are the Blobergerhauf in Saltzburg, and Watchman campground in Zion NP in April. read more

This place is nice. The owners were super nice too. They don't have a river on the the site but the owner gave us a map and highlighted the way. it wasn't even 10 min away. I went to see the Redwoods this past weekend and choose this place because a friend of mine told me about it. Well My group and I were very happy with this park. The campsite is very clean, the bathrooms and showers are super clean, and the spaces are not to close together. The management is very friendly and helpfull. The campsite is located about 3 minutes south of Trees of Mystery park, 5 miles north of Klamath and 15 minutes south of Crescent City and only minutes from lots of recreational and exploration activities. When ever I go camping anywhere in this area, I will stay at this campsite again. read more
