Overall, I wouldn't recommend Austin Wedding Planners. We went with the wedding advisor package. We…read morefound them generally unwilling to provide opinions (I would ask questions about something and all I'd get back is "well every vendor does things differently"). They were overly pushy about preferred vendors (for instance, I heard from our venue who were contracted to provide our table settings that Austin Wedding Planners tried to get them to use one of Austin Wedding Planner's preferred vendors without talking to me about it) and they made some expensive oversights with the vendors that they'd recommended. For instance: They insisted a florist they suggested would not give us an a la carte (vs. full design) package. They did. We reached out to a florist AWP recommended with a minimum for full design. When we got that quote back it was clear they were struggling to get to that number and were suggesting more florals than we actually wanted. I saw they also offer a la carte options. I asked Rosa to ask about it. She said no, that that was only for elopements. I was really excited about them so I emailed them directly to ask if it would be an option. They immediately agreed. After I told Austin Wedding Planners the florist would do a la carte for us Rosa called me stressing out. Who would set up and break down the flowers? I said we would figure it out after our call with them. It turns out they were able to do both for a modest fee. Another instance, Austin Wedding Planners said our tenting company would not allow our venue to set up lighting in the tent. They did. I asked our venue which had string lights if they'd be able to set up lighting in our tent (our rain back up plan). The venue said yes. Rosa said no--that the tenting company wouldn't allow it. I followed up with the tenting company (who were not on the call). They said our venue could set up the lights. These two things would have cost us over $4000 if we hadn't followed up. Is it possible these vendors gave me different answers than they gave Austin Wedding Planners or they changed their policies recently? Sure. But given the premise of the advisor package is that you have a relationship with these vendors you should be getting me better deals not worse ones than if I negotiated on my own. Austin Wedding Planners have clearly been doing this for a long time and I think if you needed a day of planner this could still be a good pick for you.

There are A LOT of crappy photographers out there who overcharge for a mediocre product. I spent weeks researching photographers in the area and Sarah not only has one of the most impressive portfolios but she also has very reasonable prices. I definitely recommend calling Sarah if you appreciate good photography and are over the big impersonal photo studios and want a more intimate experience for your wedding photos or portraits!

I knew this is someone I wanted to have around me on my wedding day. Despite how awkward I thought the engagement photo session was going to be, I had a lot of fun. Sarah directed us the whole time ("stand closer together, chin up, relax your shoulders...") which is what I really needed. Sarah searched everywhere for the best lighting and kept moving us around as the sun went down. I think of her as "the sun chaser." She got the engagement photos back to us just a few weeks later and they were amazing! She is also very well priced. I'm so thankful she was available for our wedding date! I can't recommend her enough. Edit: We received our wedding photos from Sarah a few weeks ago and they are gorgeous and so perfect. There is a lovely mix of portraits and documentary-style photos. Sarah and her assistant captured every moment of the day. I was so happy to be able to view photos of things I wasn't able to see, like my husband getting ready and my mom tearing up during the ceremony. When we walked through the venue before the wedding, I was thrilled with how everything looked, and somehow it was even more beautiful on the wedding day. We intentionally kept our florals fairly minimal, using bud vases, candles, and repurposing our ceremony flowers for the reception. Even with that approach, the space felt full, elegant, and intentional--you never would have guessed we had taken a more minimalist approach. I had emailed her a list of furniture that I was interested in and of course, a good majority of the items on my wish list were gone. Thankfully, Bianka was willing to sit down with me and together, we went through their inventory and came up with some really cool selections. I was also impressed that she was able to schedule a delivery within the timeframe that we needed! I received plenty of communication the day before delivery as well as the day of and was also called 30 minutes prior to their arrival. The team was quick and efficient during drop off and pickup and the furniture looked exactly as pictured online. To say everyone that visited the room was in awe is an understatement! I cannot say enough great things about the A-team at Loot. You guys were all professional, courteous and worked amazing under pressure. I look forward to working with you in the future.

If you order ahead of time, you will have a great selection, so jump as soon as you have your date nailed down! The person I worked with on the order was mostly helpful, but did not answer one specific question that I kept asking about matching items. The delivery men were really nice. They brought the items to the two different locations inside our office as we requested. I was disappointed that the tables were FAR more used than the pictures appeared. We were so disappointed in them that we didn't even use them, but we did not have time to call to get alternatives (and I doubt there were any at that point anyway). I was shocked to find that they wanted to pick up the items that we rented pretty much the minute our event ended. We obliged since we figured that would help get the crowd moving and realize that the party was over. Again, the gentlemen were kind in the process. We ended up using two companies and I will say that the items from both were more "tired" than expected, so I think they should let clients know that ahead of time. Update: I was given a refund on the tables we were unable to use, which tells me that they care about customer service.

Accurate delivery and pick up timing. 3. Unique bouncers I was looking for something super fun but hoping for a little bit different than the bounce slide combo we get every event. The jumbo playtime was utter perfection for my 6 year olds party! Lots of room to bounce around, play hide and seek, tag, and more! Two slides made it easy for them to climb UP one (as we know they all do no matter how many times you say slides are for sliding down) and one way down on the other. No argument s = happy parents enjoying some social time! My only complaint, though I've had this same complaint with all three bouncy companies I've used this far, is the white folding chairs were disgusting and dirty. Mud smears on several. A bummer but not a deal breaker- just plan ahead for some wipe downs. :) I didn't get any photos of the bouncy to note it's awesomeness, but here are a couple to show that it provided us with ample time to enjoy ourselves as adults and pups because it was so fun.
