In the days leading up to our wedding, I imagined a thousand disasters we might have had to deal with. The one scenario I never could have imagined was everything going smoothly, and Melissa and John were largely responsible for that. They were a pleasure to work with, and they went above and beyond to make our wedding everything that we'd hoped it would be. Working as our day-of coordinator, Melissa wrangled a difficult caterer, managed a minor emergency that happened right as the ceremony was about to start, and handled everything that was being left undone. Everything. John kept everything running like a Swiss watch, handled every announcement and knew exactly what to play to make the dance floor go wild. Seeing my elderly parents groaning and limping out of the hotel the next morning, complaining about having danced too hard, made me laugh out loud. I have waited to write this review. I waited so I was not as angry as I was during the whole experience working with this company. First thing that really made it hard to respect this company is that during the first zoom meeting he was against me (mother of the bride) being the coordinator and promoted his wife. I 100% understand some of his reasoning but to tell my daughter ill miss everything, whos taking the gifts, she will miss all the important events of the wedding.... this was not a good feeling as the coordinator. Second thing was he wanted to only use his timeline. He gave a copy of his preferred timeline to my daughter with someone else info on it saying to fill in the blank. At this point I had my own timeline for the wedding and sent it to him. He was not happy we didnt use his and sent out a nasty email. Very unprofessional in my eyes. Why would I switch to his preferred timeline when I had a beautiful one already. I also didnt understand why he wouldn't just transfer over the information. We even had the main songs needed per each major event. Color coded and everything. See attached email. This also triggered him to set up another meeting where he did copy and paste it to him timeline on zoom in front of us. Nasty email was not needed. Third we went over every detail with him. Including songs, when to play them, where dancing, reception, dinner, etc will be. It was on the time line. It was discussed on the zoom. Day of event.... he got loud with me and argued we never discussed the dancing on the patio... THE DAY OF THE EVENT!. He then shared he would of brought another set up if he knew, which HE KNEW!!. during the zoom meetings he had shared he lives close if he ever needed something it wouldn't be an issue. But it was. After he did set up out at the dance floor he complained to me about being under a tree... he doesnt want his equipment damaged and normally requests a tent. During the zoom meetings I asked because in his contract he mentions needing a table which he said he didnt need. Also he informed us that he has done many events at this venue so he knows their set up. Which is obviously not true. He had two areas to set up and he picked under the tree. Next was during the ceremony.... when the officiant was about to send off the lovely couple he started the exit music during prayer when they were to walk after... he didnt shut it off when the officiant was still going with prayer. This was discussed before the ceremony face to face with the officiant. They agreed with what the last words will be. Very frustrating!! At this point I was like what can happen next by this company.. then it happened... The ONE and ONLY bad thing my daughter remembers from this night was the EXIT SONG. He played it as the last dance song. He was using his timeline that we discussed heavily! My daughter only remembers this event happening that ruined her night. She had to come up with another song at the top of her head at the end of the night. THIS SHOULDNT OF HAPPENED AT ALL!!! NOT USING HIS TIMELINE!!. Also johns wife tried to get our bartender to stop serving. She turned in my nephew for "giving a minor alcohol " he had his wife's drink. They are 23 years old. The bartender said if he gets told something like this is happening again he will have to shut down. Talk about stressful as a coordinator, she should of asked me if I knew who they are and their age before trying to shut down the bar. At the end I was happy I dont have to use this company again. Sadly we couldn't switch as the time frame didnt allow per contract. I will say the only positive I can think of. He did help make sure we didnt forget somethings that he thought was important. As someone who does this often he did have some good advice. I was thankful for that and this is why I didnt give him 1 star. Oh and he was on time. read more

I hired them due to the positive reviews I found online. However, during the planning stages, I found that John was pushy about doing things his own way and was not listening well to what I wanted. He was overstepping left and right despite my having a wedding coordinator. On the day of, he moved things around in my reception space without asking anyone and caused problems with my coordinator. He also screwed up our table dismissals for dinner. I wish I could go back and have hired a different vendor. The music was great and the lighting was great but I unfortunately regretted hiring this company. read more

John and Melissa were single-handedly the best decision that we made for our wedding. From the second we met them up until our wedding exit, we felt the support, love and genuine attention to detail. They really are the dream team. Melissa as our day of coordinator was one of my favorite things in my life. She had the best system that made sure that our day was the best day. Every single one of our vendors told me afterwards how genuine, amazing, and down to earth she was in making sure everyone had what they needed. She calmed my nerves, took care of family members, made sure every announcement, dance, photo, and anything else that we scheduled happened on time and flawlessly. She is a miracle worker in disguise. John as our DJ was a no brainier. He is the absolute best in the business. When we went into planning we had no idea just how important a DJ/ MC was. Not only did he play our favorite songs, he also directed our entire ceremony, made sure we had the right mics and settings, and everything in-between. He had fun, involving games for the reception, and made the night one to remember. John has been doing this flawlessly for years, so he thought of every detail down to the nail and helped us coordinate the best day ever. If we could go back and do everything again, we'd choose Mystik Music a million times over! Anyone who books them is so lucky to have them. John and Melissa were hands down the best part of our reception. John was able to get everybody to dance even though we aren't a dancing crowd typically. They both helped keep us on schedule, but with enough flexibility to enjoy the evening. I was able to request special songs and they provided excellent input on items I did not think I cared about. No detail was forgotten about. Some things he asked about, I thought were silly at first, but it all comes together and makes sense. He absolutely knows what he is doing. At the beginning of the reception I told Melissa I was feeling dehydrated, through the rest of the night, every time she came to tell me something she came with a bottle of water. She helped make sure I did not stay dehydrated. For our grand exit, I was considering sparklers, but with a dry July that didn't seem like a good idea. John recommended the light sticks and I am so glad he did! They were a hit for the entire evening even before the grand exit. I am extremely happy we chose to have John and Melissa at our wedding!
