I learned a great deal from observing from her work. I was either taking notes or lending her a hand. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious, and it got me off of my behind. I had many years of recyclable materials that became overwhelming. I didn't know where to start, but she sure showed me how to tackle it. It's been a couple of years now, and I learned how to stay on top of the cardboard, plastic, paper, glass, etc. in my home. She (and I) spent approximately 18 hours working in total, on a few different days. I definitely recommend her to whomever needs help. *** Stuart S., West Seattle

Several years ago I became disabled and unable to leave my house. I didn't have anyone to help me…read moresince I had become a shut-in with no friends and my only relatives in Europe, I am also embarrassed to admit, I am a "hoarder" and that has made it difficult to let anyone into my home unless I trust them completely! Well since I had no choice I had to call an errand running business and after two weeks of phone interviews with several companies I finally settled on Helping Hand Errand Services. I chose this company because the owner offered the right price, availability and friendly attitude someone like me needed. I was very worried that first day about what she would say when she saw and unfortunately smelled my house. As it turns out I had nothing to worry about. The owner Sylvia came in with the biggest smile on her face and she reassured me that life was going to get better, and it has!!! After years of living under my things that I could never find and the nice stuff I had getting ruined and broken from years of neglect she changed all that. After several months of organizing (at my slow pace) the house is now neat and clean and I was finally able to let go of a lot of useless things I didn't need. I am eating better, I feel better and my appearance has changed. Sylvia even helped remodel my bathroom so I could use my shower and toilet again (yes I said again). We are planning a large yard sale for the summer so we can clear out the house even more and I am very excited about the future. I even have an amazing new wheelchair that Sylvia managed to find for me so I can finally get out of my house and to doctor appointments. I can not say enough good things about Helping Hand Errand Services. I know Sylvia changed my life for the better and she can help even the most extreme people get organized. If she could help me she can help ANYBODY.

I can't thank April enough for all of her help and guidance! Our family's life turned upside down…read morewhen we learned that our "independent" loved one had dementia and could no longer care for themselves. After a couple of years navigating the government and state care assistance, hitting several dead ends, we were introduced to April and her company. April helped to turn our world around within a couple of months and our loved one is now safely living with round the clock care, our family is at peace! My Sincerest Gratitude to April Sage! Please reach out to April and her company if you find yourself in a situation with your loved one and need a direction to go or help to find the right care facility.

The time was approaching when we were going to have to start looking for an adult living facility…read morewith the option of memory care for my mother in law. Two of her siblings had Alzheimer's before they passed, and we knew we needed to have a plan. We had no idea where to start. I remembered a friend who had recently gone through this with her mother. She quickly recommended I reach out to April. After spending an hour on a Saturday afternoon on the phone answering questions, April put together a plan. It was the middle of covid, but within a week she was able to find a local place that we could tour so that we could get an idea of what Adult and Assisted Living looked like. From there, she presented housing options that met our needs and finances. April was incredibly thorough, and went at our pace. The biggest thing I learned from the experience is that finding the right place is just the beginning. It is definitely a process, and what comes next is where April truly shines. She will literally hold your hand as you present this move idea to your loved one who may very well meet it with resistance. She also walks you through the steps of sorting and purging and all the things that come with moving an elderly parent. Where family members may get frustrated and impatient, April is sympathetic and understanding and right there to help. She is a wealth of knowledge and resources. In a nutshell, a move like this is not only stressful on the elderly parent, but the whole family who is involved. It is a huge decision with a lot of red tape. A third party like April helps navigate the process, and prevent unnecessary stress, misunderstandings and disagreements that can occur when families need to make these decisions together. She's an angel.

These folks have a HUGE selection of gently-used manual wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs (I…read morethink!), wheelchair cushions, hospital beds, toilet chairs, bedpans, portable urinals, laptop tables on wheels (to use with a hospital bed), recliners, etc. I needed a wheelchair because my back problems are getting worse and I kept falling, even with using my rollerator. I didn't want to wait for Medicare/Medicaid to approve a wheelchair purchase b/c they take too long and they usually spend the least amount of money for a person's medical needs. Instead, I paid out of pocket for a nice wheelchair that was originally $300. I paid $85! And the service was great, too. There's a guy named Bob who fixes wheelchairs and other mobility devices. He was friendly and thorough! He made sure that my wheelchair had everything it needed. He swapped out some parts for better parts and fixed the two footrests about two weeks later because one of them kept falling off. All of their profits from sales go back into the Multiple Sclerosis community to help people pay rent, get jobs, etc. I am glad I could help out by buying one of the wheelchairs. I plan on returning in a month or so to buy some more used accessories for my wheelchair. There WAS a weird woman who kept pestering me about things I was looking to buy. At first, I thought she worked there but she was just an obnoxious customer. She kept trying to touch my hair! My caregiver had to tell her to back off! Thankfully, she wasn't there the second time my caregiver and I went there. Anyway... ;-)
