the best she could do on a cheek
    Carrie H.

Bait and switch. Short story: I checked reviews before booking this company for my daughter's birthday party a month in advance. The old reviews are pretty consistent that the company can do great work-- everyone raves about Celese' work. That's the catch though Celese as an independent worker can paint-- however Celese using other people to do the work is another story. Had Celese shown up, or been professional enough to cancel when she couldn't *professionally* staff the booking then my review would probably be different. Instead she knowingly sent someone who didn't have face painting skills. "Sorry" is not an acceptable form of making things right in business, any more than "thanks" but still not paying the bill would be. I run a medically fragile foster home. These group homes are made so that kids who would otherwise have to live in the hospital can have some normalcy in their lives. The 4yo birthday girl on the IV is waiting for a transplant. The boy in bed on the ventilator is end stage. I tried to do something special for them in booking this service and I am absolutely appalled that this business would take advantage of my desire to fulfill my daughters wish of a grand birthday party. Yes, having a face painter was important to me bc I don't know how many birthdays she will have so I will give her the world while I can. Granted I did not mention their condition or my home dynamics to Celese, but the artist surely saw who she was painting on. You don't screw over people who are already going through so much. Be a better business!! Full story: Celese immediately accepted the booking and asked for deposit. I paid it. Party bookings are $300 for 2 hours and add on glitter tattoos by the same artist (additional $50/hr). Several weeks later she reached out to let me know that she, nor any other artist even from other companies, was available to do the face painting part of my event but since I booked the additional service of glitter tattoos that someone could still come do that if I wanted to keep that. I told her the main thing we really wanted was face painting. I asked if it was possible to put the tattoos on faces, or for that same artist to paint with the stencil little things on faces. She said that was not possible because it adhesive that can't go on faces. Understandable. So since it was already Tuesday and the party was that Saturday-- too late to book anyone else I said just go ahead and send the glitter tattoo person only. She offered $50 off and some free custom signage for the inconvenience. I thought she was at least professional for acknowledging it was bad business to cancel the main thing 4 days before the event. On the morning of the party she called me saying she found someone who was newer to face painting but that she was still very good and could do both the face painting and tattoos. She said she knew how much my daughter wanted the face painting so she had been looking for someone. I thought it was professionalism but it turned out this was just greed. The girl who came told me she didn't really do face painting at all. She was trying to get into character work (dressing as princesses etc for parties) but that Celese wanted to send someone out to do my event so she agreed to come. Basically sounds like Celese wanted to be able to get the full booking payment by sending someone who knows how do the glitter tattoos (which are literally a stencil they put glue and glitter on over --no artistic skills required.) and having her paint happy faces on cheeks and call that face painting. She had no ability to do ANYTHING that is depicted on the business' website. She was very sweet about it and I felt bad for her being asked to do things she couldn't do but seriously... you're charging $300 for this face painting package and happy face or a peace sign is the best you can do?!?!??!?! Following up I let Celese know I was disappointed with the artist, and that she herself not only gave me the run around the week of the party all the way up to the day of the party, but she also failed to even bring the customized stuff she offered as an apology for the run around she was giving me. Sending a complete amateur and still charging the same professional rate is ludicrous. All I got in response to my complaint was excuses, an insincere apology, a flat out lie about why she didn't do the custom signage and a copy of the invoice she still wanted full payment on despite acknowledging her artist was not skilled.

This only too Celese about 5 minutes!

Celese was hired for my husband's company party. Kids AND adults had a great time getting painted by Celese and her assistant. She is friendly, fast and talented! I would not hesitate to hire her.

Definitely not your typical face paint.

I attended an event today where PNW was present, and my experience was completely ruined by one of…read moretheir staff members, BLANCA. What I witnessed was shocking and unacceptable -- she yanked a toddler by the arm simply because he grabbed some sand. The child was visibly terrified. If sand is too messy for staff to handle, it should not be provided for kids to play with, but under no circumstance is physically grabbing a child appropriate. Later, Blanca yelled at my own child for "drawing on the table," even though the table was already covered with orange crayon when we arrived and my child was using a blue marker with the cap still on. I explained this to her, but she continued to act harshly toward my child. This level of unprofessional behavior is extremely concerning for anyone working around children. I strongly urge PNW to review this incident, provide proper training for their staff, and reconsider who they have supervising children's activities. Families should feel safe bringing their kids to events like this but today, we did not!!! Please let me know who I can talk to about a formal complaint as grabbing children that are not yours is not ok!!!
