My home was being rented out in 2016 and 2017 while I was in a nursing home. People stole items from my kitchen, used my drapes as napkins (which the cleaners did not catch, so they never paid to replace them). The cleaners used the wrong cleaner on my wood floor and I had to pay someone to clean, the floor was filthy and put more finish on the floor, they would not pay for it. They use substandard help. If you call them, the call is for sales only not for helping. read more

We rented this place through Vrbo. It's advertised as 2000 sq ft home but you only have access to 1/2 of it which they don't mention. Says it sleeps 7 but only sleeps 5 with 1 king, 1queen, 1 twin bed. The Queen and twin were old and hard. I (60 year old women) decided to sleep on the couch because of being so uncomfortable. It is $695 a night with a $350 cleaning fee. If you use the grill or fireplace you are required to clean it yourself. It was just the 2 of us and we stayed 3 days. There was an extra $1000 in fees!!!! They don't show you these fees until you sign up for your NONREFUNDABLE property. So there is no way to get out of it after you see the extra $1000 added on. It does not tell you about the construction that is going on behind the house which is been going on for three years. The view is amazing and worth the initial price but they owner tacked on another $500+ for host fees. This would usually go to a management company which he doesn't have, he is just pocketing extra money bringing the price of the $695 advertised property to over $1000 a night but you don't know it until you sign your NONREFUNDABLE contract. It's not worth that. This happens a lot with Vrbo. Be careful. They have great properties but is always exponentially more expensive than advertised. read more

My husband and I found a place on this awesome new app called Whimstay (like Hotel Tonight but for vacation rentals) after being quarantined in our SF apartment for 3 months. Waaaaaaaa. The house was gorgeous, pristinely clean and absolutely everything we needed or wanted. The best part was the staff. We communicated with Jonathan and Jomar. First thing: we booked it when things weren't open yet in Napa Valley, so Jonathan very patiently sat with us on the phone and found a nice date while honoring the awesome price we got on whimstay. Then during check in Jomar (sp?) was so attentive and on top of it. Every email was responded too quickly and cleanly. So pleased about the whole experience. They run a nice ship over here with a focus on customer experience...an important component to a nice vacation. Well done guys and thanks. read more

What a disappointment. I am a long time Airbnb host in SF, seeking a partner to manage my listing while I'm out of the country. MyVRHost is a perfect reminder "don't judge a book by its cover". After a thoughtful detailed initial email from their customer team, I spent considerable time and effort to answer their questions about my circumstances and needs, including potential challenges. I scheduled a call via their online system with Jason Bandera. I logged into the Google Meet link provided but no one let me join. After 7 minutes I received a call from Jason who said he'd been waiting on the phone number provided. He seemed surprised I was waiting on Google even though that was the identified connection point from the meeting invitation. He expressed no knowledge of my situation, was driving his car, thus had no access to the photos or listing links I'd provided. When I commented that this did not seem to be a good start to a relationship he made no effort to apologize for anything, said instead he could respect that we were not a good fit. So, if you have a desire for respect for your time and effort, attention to detail, and consideration, MyVRHost may not be a good fit for you either... read more

I rented out my place for a month with them -- nervously, because I'd had a terrible experience trying to do the same via Air Envy (now "Pillow") -- and I learned that MyVRhost are on top their game. They replied to guests' messages quickly, booked out almost the entire month, optimized the pricing of my listing, coordinated with cleaners and managed reviews effectively after the fact. Getting set up was super easy and I appreciated the personal attention to detail from the Founder, Jason. Don't waste your time with startups trying to get the hang of providing ancillary Airbnb services. This company is the absolute shadiest company we've ever dealt with in our lives. These good reviews are fake, they paid for them, the real (negative) ones have somehow been removed. ( I can prove I've done business with myvrhost. I highly doubt any of these others can. Feel free to contact me for more info. This company listed our property, did not disclose where else they listed it (it was only supposed to be on airbnb). They would not give me access to our listing or informed us of what was going on while we were out of town. Luckily I checked all the days they were booked out by trying to reserve the dates myself on a daily basis. They took a way higher percentage than agreed upon, added extra fees for "insurance" even though they they assured me they would deal directly with the guests/airbnb in case of any issues. We came back to a broken brand new couch, trashed apt, missing things, and no accountability on their part to solve these issues. They completely ignored all emails, did not give us access to our listings, did not show proof on how much they made on our apartment on all platforms. They are thieves and liars. They promised increased revenue, instead they made us less money and left us with massive damage and problems with our neighbors and landlord. We made more money and far less of a headache doing it on our own and hiring a maid service. DO NOT TRUST THEM! They are the absolute WORST. Do NOT believe these reviews. I really didn't want to have to write a bad review but we trusted our home to this company, and they completely took advantage of us. My VR Host has been renting and managing my short-term home rental for two years and I would highly recommend them to others. In the process of transitioning from another property manager, My VR Host handled this process very smoothly which saved me much time and preoccupation. Whenever problems arise, which is part of renting, My VR Host has always handled guests and myself very professionally and effectively. I've had toilet, TV and other appliances breakdowns and My VR Host staff has been quick to get things fixed and always makes sure that guests are having a good experience including the scheduling and rental of my home. My VR Host's cleaning crew has been impeccable and is very attentive to bringing repair and maintenance items to my attention which has helped save me money me in the long run. For example, fixing a leaky faucet or funny noise in the dishwasher early has saved me more serious problems down the road. They have been so cooperative and a pleasure to work with. I believe my guests have returned again because of My VR Host professional services they have offered. Also my guests and I receive immediate response whenever we need to speak with VR Host including the owner, Jason Bandarra, when necessary. He has gone out of his way to work things out with me in a timely professional manner especially when we first started working together which is always challenging when one starts with their first short-term rental. Jason and his team were outstanding with their services. The house was extremely clean, all amenities were well stocked from linens, paper towels, toilet paper, games and even detergent. We cooked a few meals and were pleased with the fully equipped kitchen. Our rental had amazing views from numerous balconies, all of which were clean and furnished with awesome patio furniture. This was by far the easiest check out from any rental I've ever used. The cleaning crew showed up exactly on time as we were checking out and they were extremely nice. The communication between us and VR host was amazing with almost immediate responses. Do NOT hire this management!!! They have horrible customer service and partner with the worst cleaning team. I was a superhost on Airbnb. Before letting this management take over, I've received positive feedbacks only and almost all of them have marked my place sparkling clean. I'm currently abroad, so I had to hire a property management that helps me manage upcoming reservations - HUGE mistake... Out of my 5 reservations, I have received 3 complaints about the cleanliness. One of them even said that the place was in such poor condition that she had to stay at a hotel. They should've resolved all issues, since they're the only ones that can access the platform. However, they did not take any action and I had to be the one calling them multiple times to let them know about the complaints. Whenever I called, I was only able to speak to some receptionist who had a pretty bad attitude. I don't even know if the messages were relayed, as they didn't even bother to get back to me. I had to call them constantly until I was finally able to speak to someone in charge of all this. I find that extremely unprofessional and upsetting, as the cleaning team charges my guests a fortune for a crappy job. Also, they don't even bother sending you upcoming reservations and at the end of the month, they send you a vague statement with extra charges. My experience is a few years old but it was not good. I hired them to manage my new short term rental while I recovered from surgery. Everything seemed OK at first but, when I had recovered enough to check the apartment, I found the apartment was not properly cleaned. Soraya was not helpful saying that there were bound to be 'hiccups.' That was not acceptable. She also came to my property, knowing that I lived there, and consulted with the cleaner without including me. Again, not acceptable. She allowed the cleaner to leave the linens at the laundramat without telling me so I thought my towels had been stolen and I went out and bought more. On another occasion I had guests checking out at 11AM and new guests checking in at 3PM. When the cleaner hadn't shown up by 11:30, I called and was told she was on her way. She did not arrive until 2:30 and was still cleaning when the guests arrived. The lack of communication and disrespect was appalling. And then they were taking 20%??? I was glad to tell them good-bye. read more

This review is a "work in progress". Today marks the first day of interacting with Myvrhost, and we'll see how this relationship evolves over the next several months. Like hundreds of home owners here in the SF Bay Area, we have finally decided to experiment with converting our property into a vacation rental. After doing my research, I decided to contact Myvrhost. As a quick test, I called them at 6:30 am. I've tried out this test with other management companies in the past. It's hard to find a property management service that will pay to have a human answer the phone early in the morning. Myvrhost did. Well done. She answered in just 2 rings and was super polite. She took down all my info and said that someone at Myvrhost would call back right away. Less than a minute later Soraya called back! Turns out that Soraya is the director of operations. I asked her a lot of questions. She graciously answered all of them, and by the time we ended the conversation, I was sold. And sure enough, just a few minutes later, Soraya followed up by email with a detailed letter that included info about the On Boarding process and even a "New Owner's Prep Guide". So far at least, I'm seeing good potential to add value. They understand the importance of fast response rates, and they pay attention to details. Vacation rentals seems to me like a tough business. But perhaps Myvrhost can succeed where so many others have failed. I'm excited to start working with them. Our listing opens in a few weeks! After a few months, I'll write another update and share what's been happening. --- Also, to Brandi who last year blamed Myvrhost for a price change in a vacation rental during Dream Force, I just have to say, Yelp is supposed to be a place for reviews, not rants. Just tried to rent with My VR Host through VRBO, booked, confirmed, then the next morning an email by My VR Host cancelling on me saying it wasn't available those dates...at 11 pm the night before when I booked it, it was! Then they say this morning it is not available until the next month and updated the website. I tell them I am contacting VRBO because something is fishy. Then I get an email about an hour later saying they no longer represent the property. I was suspicious from the start when such a beautiful, clean, update property only has one stay and it was obviously a fake review. On top of it, I was still charged the booking fee! read more

We (two couples) stayed in this AirBnB for two nights during a weekend in the City. Every aspect of our stay was perfect...the check in was done with a key box and a phone call. Very convenient. The apartment was beautiful! Spacious, clean, modern. There is a Whole Foods market and Peets a short walk away where we got the basics to have breakfast in. Having a private parking space saved money on hotel parking. We walked to the Twitter building for lunch and ran across some cool antique shops along the way. Otherwise we used Uber to get around. MyVRHost has handled my two properties for the past two+ years. They did a good job managing the day-to-day sales and operations aspects of short-term rental properties, and have provided a personalized service to me that I have not found at two prior property management companies. What I particularly appreciated was my ability to communicate directly with the founder or the highly capable operations manager whenever I needed. Their response was always quick, effective, and professional. One bigger example was when my Sonoma property was affected by the wildfires in October 2017. MyVRHost was on it right away, let all my guests know about the situation, and allowed me to process the event without having to worry about answering a million questions from our guests. There was not a single bad review coming out of that. Then AirBNB mistakenly cancelled all reservations, at both properties, not just Sonoma, and MyVRHost was on it right away again, fixing it on my behalf. They were able to facilitate rebooking my San Francisco rental through AirBNB as well as negotiating an extra payment when AirBNB had cancelled a guest during a high-rates week (DreamForce) that would have been difficult to fill last-minute. All that would have been flat out impossible for me to handle on top of everything else. MyVRHost has been a big help with a million other smaller problems that arise daily, whether it was finding an exterminator for a raccoon problem or getting my very specific cleaning and setup requests at both properties handled promptly and effectively. I can recommend them for all who value personal service that takes care of the many small and large things that can and will happen in the course of short-term rentals. read more

Do NOT trust this organization! They "managed" my cabin in Lake Tahoe for a year and consistently, repeatedly, and fraudulently lied to me about being "local". They didn't even have a local manager on site!! Just a maid who didn't even clean properly. Needless to say, maintenance was "never" performed and the property deteriorated under their "management" which is simply to place adds in Airbnb and VRBO and collect the fees for nothing but subpar maid service. I even caught them writing several fraudulent reviews on both VRBO and Airbnb. The only conversation I had with the "owner" lasted 10 minutes (he was trying to sell me an $10k decorating "package" in which I tried to ask property advice....he just rushed off the phone. Do not trust these liars! Do your homework and use a "real" property management company. Oh, whenever I would call them....I would only get an answering service. read more

I am giving this management company 1 star because you can't leave it blank. I booked a property in South Lake Tahoe on 12/09/17 to check in 12/16/17, obviously less than the 30 days they require for a refund. The day after I booked it my wife got hurt and was deemed unable to travel by her doctor. I called My VR Host immediately to cancel, knowing full well about the cancellation policy, but I thought, "Well I just booked it yesterday so they might cancel it as a courtesy, after all there are still 6 days until the arrival date so they can probably still book it for someone else." WRONG!!! When I called was given the schpeel about how I agreed to terms and this and that. I told them yes, I know what I agreed to, just hoping you guys were a little understanding, but I see that's not the case. I asked them to cancel my reservation without a refund(because I would go with my credit card travel cancellation benefit instead). Mind you this was Sunday 12/10/17 and arrival was 12/16/17. On the arrival date I get a phone notification reminder that I was supposed to check in at Tahoe that day. I called My VR Host immediately and ask why it wasn't cancelled Sunday. I was told it wasn't cancelled because they didn't receive medical certification for my wife. I asked, "Why do you need medical certification? I'm not asking for a refund from you." I was on the phone for about an hour asking for it to be cancelled and they would not. Dumbfounded is a word that gets thrown out a lot, but this is how I felt, that this institution, after being told I DID NOT want the money back, still wouldn't cancel my reservation. Now I was being told I neede the medical docs. I had the medical docs, I wasn't trying to pull a fast one, so I emailed the medical document to the company within minutes and called them back. The rep acknowledged she received the document, so I thought, "Ok, now they'll cancel." WRONG AGAIN!!! I was astonished that EVEN THEN they wouldn't cancel. This was a few hours before check-in. The rep told me she would submit the medical doc but was not promising a refund, and this is what I told her, "Ma'am, I don't want a refund, I want a confirmation of cancellation." She told me there was no one else I could speak to but that she would call me back later or the next day. This was Saturday 12/16/17. I had not heard back by Monday so I called back, left her a message with a co-worker, no call back. Today was my check out day, I called and was told by another rep that they "would open up my reservation to others and if anyone booked the property I might be able to recoup some money. By this time I was tired of saying I didn't want a refund so I didn't tell him, I didn't even bother to tell him that my check out was today so "opening it up to others" wasn't going to help. All I got was an email saying they "are not authorized by the property owner to give a refund." Sure, and I was born yesterday, my bank statement says "My VR Host" so they have the funds, not the owner. I am actually pretty sure the owner doesn't even know about this situation. And please read other reviews where this management company actually goes off on previous business partners and calls their reviews retaliatory. I know My VR Host will write back and find a way to blame me for this, I wouldn't expect less from them. I do want to make it clear that VRBO has nothing to do with this. Actually the day I booked this, I did it immediately after cancelling a trip to Big Bear. Funny thing I cancelled Big Bear without expecting a full refund because it was after the limit date, but VRBO STILL gave me a full refund without asking a single question.
