I wish we had started taking the Metro earlier in our trip as we would've made this the go-to form of transportation as it was quite cheap compared to what you would pay in America. Instead of getting a one-day or three-day unlimited pass, we decided to get direct one time route passes at $3.25 Canadian per pass. The trains get you to your destinations fast and the whole experience is great. The trains are quite modern, new, and clean. We found that the stations were very quiet and the ridership very courteous, polite and friendly (versus what you experience in America).

But this is what sets Montréal from NYC apart every time for me: not one single person rushed us. No one was huffing and puffing and talking under their breath. Much less, the person at the ticket booth, wasn't cut and dry and went the extra mile to even circle where to hop off from the Sherbrooke Line. Merci! We eventually bought 2 Round-Trip Métro cards for $12. The chip in the card allows you to swipe on their Turnstile scanner and you can load and reload funds in it as you go. I was highly amazed at how clean Montréal's Métro system is maintained with super wide platforms at that! But I was more impressed with Montréal's outrageously quiet rail. Freaking amazing. Montréal never ceases to amaze me!
