The fact it took a while to diagnose was totally overshadowed by the amazing service. I'm a licensed insurance agent/adjuster for 33+ years and almost never purchase extended warranties or "insurance" protection on technology. Because I was purchasing a German car, I made the exception and it paid off. For that reason, I also recommended going over your extended warranty options with the sales rep at time of purchase. It is not for every situation, I would still take the time to review. My decision to take it made my service experience even better. They explained my benefits clearly before we got started, provided a loaner while they diagnosed the issue to confirm warranty coverage, and got me in and out of the loaner with ease. I purchased, via internet sale, similar to Carvana, a vehicle from this business. During my initial call and messages, I had a specific list of questions about the condition of the vehicle. Having very low miles, and a fairly new vehicle, the salesperson assured me, repeatedly the vehicle was 'like new' and absolutely 'no problems' either mechanically, exterior or interior condition. I told them that if there were any imperfections on the list above that I would fly down look at the car and just drive it back to make sure what they were referencing noted biffs, lights, dings etc would work for what I would consider for a purchase. Also, during that conversation, I told the salesperson that I actually needed this type of vehicle to get my dog back and forth to chemo so, if there were any mechanical/major issues to please not lie to me and sell me a lemon. He insisted the vehicle 'was like new and no problems' and that he would provide a three-month warranty. This is what I really got...it cost me a little under 4-grand to correct the issues with the vehicle so it would pass a safety inspection to get registered. The check engine light came on about 20 miles after driving it. It looked like one of the seatbelts had been chewed in half by a squirrel, that cost ~2k to fix because the headliner had to be removed to actually get to that particular shoulder harness seatbelt and the car couldn't pass the safety inspection without it. Of course, there was only a ONE-month warranty instead of the stated and agreed upon three. It is perhaps the second most dented vehicle I have owned, topped only by my first car when I was 16. I needed an actual bill of sale from them, they said they would mail it to me and they never did, of course. IMO, if this dealership would do this to someone who is specifically buying this type of vehicle to get their dog back and forth to chemo, how do you think you are going to fare?
