I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. I've been going to Nabi Hair Salon for quite some time now (many years) I primarily go to Vanessa and Su, but have had the previlage to work with Stylists at their sister salon as well. Mind you since I've been going for ages half the time I don't even care what they do to me including amount of hair that is cut because they have done such an exepctional job at hitting it right on the nail 100% of the time that I already know whatever they do will look amazing. They are super sweet and knowledgeable and give suggestions on what color/tone would suit my skin tone in addition to what style cut would compliment my face shape. They make me feel extremely comfortable and confident the moment I walk in. They are very personable and explain the process step by step so that you understand what is going on. I have had nothing but satisfactory results since I began going to them. I am so incredibly happy I stumbled across them. I moved temporarily to Modesto for 2 years and would drive down just for Nabi every 3 months for a trim and tone and a bit longer for the balayage when my roots would grow. I will never go anywhere else. They have made it extremely hard to find anything/ anyone better. When booking an appointment they are very transparent start to finish and very informative they ask questions if you don't know exactly what you want. I cannot recommend this place enough! I got maybe 4 inches cut. My hair was dyed May 2022 and it still had some blonde in it. The ends of my hair was DEAD so I knew it was time to get it cut. My sister suggested I go to a place that specializes in Asian hair, so after some searching on Yelp, I found Nabi Salon~ I made an appointment and it wasn't until a week out. Their website said $75 for a cut so I knew it was going to be expensive going in but it was fine since I don't get my hair cut often. I found residential parking because parking all around is 2-hour only (ended up not needing it since my cut took 45 mins). First impression: the floor tiles of Nabi Salon looked "worn" and the space was kinda tight. Their sister salon next door, the Aria Beauty Bar was more spacious. I was offered water beforehand so that was nice~ I showed Vance some reference photos on Yelp and he understood what I wanted and offered some suggestions too. In the end, I loved the cut! The haircut was $100 and I tipped so it's pretty pricey if you all you're looking for is a trim. I got 4 inches cut so it made sense for the price. They didn't put heat protectant in my hair before blow drying and curling my hair so I was concerned it would damage my hair but the blow drying and curling didn't seem like extensive. I've been going to Nabi Salon (now also Aria Beauty Bar) since the beginning of the pandemic. Over the last 2 years or so I've had Su, Courtney, and recently Vance work on my hair. They are super knowledgeable and I've always left satisfied with how my hair color turned out. As with many places, prices have gone up. I recently had an appointment for a double process partial balayage + cut. When it was time to pay I mentioned that I got a partial balayage (half of my head was painted and the bottom half was not) and I was replied with a short "we don't do that here". A partial balayage was literally what I got (??) but I was charged for a full balayage. I wish this was made clear at the beginning of the appointment - so that I could have gotten what I paid for. Weird that they offer partial highlights per their website but not partial balayage. The total was $400+ without tip which I still tipped 20% on top. Definitely not cheap. I really liked Nabi/Aria but my last visit left me feeling uneasy. Sadly, I don't think I will be back. read more

I feel very lucky that I found Su on Yelp last year. Since pandemic started, I haven't ventured out to the salons, and I got the awful "pandemic" hair. My hair grew very long, and I decided to book an appointment at Nabi Salon with Su. It took probably almost 4 or 5 months before they had an appointment at the time, but I was super determined to have my hair done by her, and I am glad I waited. It was one of the best decisions I have made. I went in with a photo of a Korean celebrity who got this gorgeous ashy blue hair, and I didn't really think it would be achieved on my black hair, and especially in one appointment. I have nothing but great things to say about Su and Vanessa! I waited months for my first haircut appointment with her, but the wait was entirely worth it. Initially, I thought of cutting my hair to shoulder-length. However, Su recommended I continue to keep my hair long, and instead touched up my layers. She also added some face-framing, which I didn't realize helped structure my face better. Vanessa helped wash my hair before Su saw me for the actual cut and blow-dry. I have to say... the attention to detail and precision that both Vanessa and Su demonstrated was unmatched. I learned very quickly during my haircut appointment that Su is the rich and pretty Asian auntie I didn't know I needed... she made the whole experience incredibly fun and enjoyable. Somewhere in the process, she also somehow convinced me to schedule a hair coloring appointment with her in May, lol. I am a very lazy girl. I wash my hair often and simply let it hair air dry. Wanted a change by dying my hair and my friend recommend Nabi Salon! I've never had my hair dyed before and Vance was awesome! I wanted to go for an ash brown look and given that I haven't done this before, Vance suggested we go for a more subtle change compared to the example I gave him so I don't go in total shock. Called around 12:30 for a haircut and Sue said she can schedule me in with her junior specialist, Vanessa, at 2:30. Located on Broadway in Burlingame, it was easy to find parking right in front. I was greeted and started right away. The salon was cute. Told them I wanted a haircut and showed Vanessa a picture of the cut I wanted. Let's just say, the outcome was absolutely perfect! I wished I had taken a before picture of my hair because the after was absolutely perfect. Vanessa was super sweet and personable. She's young but super sweet and attentive. My one hour appointment passed by so quick and next thing I realized, my hair looked healthy, shiny, and felt super soft. Vanessa was thorough with the cut and based everything on what I liked and wanted and more. Before my cut, my hair had no style and it was full of split ends and looked so thinned out so it made my hair felt so heavy. Vanessa is super knowledgeable and clearly answers any questions you have during the process. Her advice for my ashy brown balayage upkeep was also really simple - sulfate free shampoo, olaplex once a week, and only purple shampoo sparingly once the toner fades. I just got back from another amazing experience at Nabi Salon! It's the only place I've gotten my haircut or colored since it's opened. Su, the owner, goes out of her way to ensure you get exactly what you request. Recently I've had some of the other stylists that work with her do my hair when she is swamped and I trust them since they have been under her tutelage and I have not been disappointed. In addition, Su and her team have been cutting my sons hair which can be a challenge since he has some sensory issues. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate him - it is a salon with a heart of gold. My normal color is a very dark brown that she keeps in stock just for me - you will get individualized creations specific to your request and they always do their best to accommodate. I am extremely disappointed and will not recommend this place to anyone. RESPONSE: I would like to note that I did not have any problems with your hairstylists; They were both very kind and considerate. Also, the girl running the register offered the full refund and NOT YOU. Nevertheless, although the final results were not even close to the picture, I still appreciated my stylists' efforts and paid over 50% of the original costs. I don't usually post negative reviews. However, I felt the need to respond since YOU manipulated the facts: First of all, the picture was shown to me by the hairstylist. I specifically told her that "I don't have any reference pictures." Secondly, no one ever discussed with me that my hair wouldn't be able to reach the same color (as in the picture shown by the hairstylist). Lastly, the line "Our understanding is that you had similar issues indicated in your review with the prior salon you visited hence coming to Aria Beauty Bar. There appears to be a common theme with your approach.." I don't understand where this is even coming from. I've never had any issues with other salons, and this is my first ever negative review. What can I say! I wanted to surprise my mom with a complete hair makeover and spent hours looking for places, and found Nabi Salon! The area and parking is really easy to find, and the ambience inside was so warm and friendly. That's one thing we loved, having those initial few minutes of seeing what would work best and aiming to keep my moms hair healthy.
