Located in a very prime location in downtown Millbrae, the salon is gorgeous inside! Very modern and clean. I got to my appointment early but was quickly attended to check in. Vee asked if I needed a hair wash which I told him that I already washed the night before. He said because my hair was very dry, he would give me a hair wash. It was so relaxing and he did an amazing job washing and conditioning my hair. Next up was blow-drying and he took a lot of time to not only dry it but used a barrel brush to style it and straighten it after. He was very meticulous! leo and min are amazing!!! they're experts. they got me color corrected to a super pastel pink color. i honestly didn't think my hair goal of getting to really light pink would be possible w my hair that had like 4 different shades in it and years of doing my own hair at home with red dye i've been doing since i was 18 (im 22 now). i spent 7.5 hours with them and they did an incredible color correction on me and i can't believe how amazing my hair looks. it feels even healthier than it was when i came in which is so shocking because we had to bleach my hair twice to correct the color! i had red dye and they were able to make it so light and so platinum. they brought me snacks and they were so attentive. another salon i went to for a consultation said they'd have to cut 5" off my hair but leo only trimmed a little and kept a lot of my length. my hair feels sooo soft and healthy!! i'm amazed min was so gentle and sweet. i almost fell asleep when she was shampooing my hair. the salon is super clean! Leo and one other stylist primarily worked on my hair (it was a woman with short hair and I forgot to ask for her name). When I showed Leo my inspo pics he managed my expectations because we couldn't get to the exact color I wanted without damaging my hair (silvery grey with black tips). My natural hair color is black and was lifted to a brown with blonde high and low lights...so they literally went through my hair strand by strand to group my hair so they could bleach it properly to get my hair as even as possible. After the toner and color was added, washed out, and dried Leo noticed some parts weren't blended well and instead of just taking my money and letting me leave (since I've already been in the chair for 10hrs and they had closed already) he stayed even later to make sure my hair was as perfect as can be. My hair isn't 100% what my inspo pic was because I'll probably need another session to bleach it but I'm still 110% satisfied. Also I saw another review where a person mentioned that they didn't feel welcome because of the language barrier and that was absolutely not the case for me. My first language is English and second is Tagalog. Yes obviously I won't be chatting it up with the stylists in the salon because I don't speak Mandarin but nonetheless every single person that I interacted with was incredibly kind (they brought me snacks since I was there the whole day, they saw I kept fanning myself because I was getting hot under the covers they use and brought me a fan). I'm not usually one to leave 2 star reviews but the results were just not what I wanted for how much I paid. I have been looking forward to trying this salon after seeing it on Instagram. My original hairdresser canceled, so I booked here and communicated the color I wanted in advance. When I arrived, I was assigned a different hairdresser than the original owner I was communicating with. There was a slight language barrier, but I assumed the owner would relay my request. The stylist was still friendly and even brought snacks, but the result was just not what I expected. My hair was super ash grey, very different from the photo I showed and there were a lot of uneven streaks with hints of blue and green that my friends even noticed. I paid $550 including tip for this. I returned for a follow-up appointment and while the salon did a good job following up and offering a free session, I was hoping they could readjust it to be more brown + blond like the photos but they made the same stylist do my hair again and he just toned it all brown basically back to my original color before I did my hair at all. I really appreciate his professional opinion and advice instead of just taking on another client because business is business. i was in his chair from 10am to 8pm. him and his team are very meticulous about my color correction process. He knows how to do Asian hair type very well and got me lighter than i had expected. He also provided snacks for me. it is bit pricy but the results are worth it and guaranteed. I have come to this salon a few times and each time I had a good experience. The vibe reminded me of a Hong Kong salon. When I have come, they ask for a reference photo of what I wanted done. Each time they gave me what I showed them. I also liked that before the service they showed me how much it would cost. I appreciated the transparency. The people there were so kind and patient with explaining what they will do to my hair and was honest about how my hair won't be completely even because my hair was bleached previously. I love this salon! The vibe is modern, warm and clean. I went for a complete hair color service and haircut with Leo who did AMAZING work. I had black natural hair that I wanted to get to an ashy mocha brown. I've gotten my hair bleached a couple times so I know it's a lengthy and damaging process. The process was efficient and thorough. Been a minute since I've decided to post about my experience. Truthfully, someone else suggested for me to go somewhere else to get a balayage or a new hair color but I wanted to do it here since I've been here 2-3 times already and I had a good experience so I trusted them. For reference, I never had my hair bleached or a balayage before. From the day I made my appointment, I asked for the price of balayage of the reference photo I included, one of the main stylist said $450 and $65 for haircut. Ok, I brought the exact amount in cash cause I've saved up at least 3-4 months worth of money. Its hella expensive but like I said, I trusted them. On the day of my appointment, the guy who was gonna do my hair was like "ok ur hair $490 because of length" and I just said yes cause I was already on that chair. its not like I can negotiate. they started at 10am and at first I was wondering why they were putting foil on my hair. I've had my hair colored before but never bleached so I thought it wasn't gonna last long or that I wasnt aware my hair was getting bleached but boy, I was wrong. I sat on that chair with heavy foils on my head from 11am-4pm. The guy who was supposed to help me kept helping other people so I had to call someone else cause it was hurting my neck and head. When they removed the foils, I wondered why my hair was blonde and the nice lady reassured me it was gonna be colored. When she colored it, I didn't notice the grey at all cause it was dark and I said ok to it. When the guy blow dried my hair, thats when I saw the grey. It was all grey, like all ash grey on top of my hair and I was internally freaking out. I was on the chair from 10am to 7pm till when they closed. I just wanted to go home and cry cause I spent a lot of money that I saved up for something they damaged. I came back the next day and tried to tell a guy, who I'm guessing is their main stylist. I couldnt tell if he was nice or rude but he kept talking over me and kept telling me "ok ok ok ok i'll fix it" without telling me how he will fix it so I had to ask before they butcher my hair again. I couldnt fully explain how I felt and what was wrong cause he kept cutting me off. I told them I honestly didnt know I was gonna get bleached cause I've never done it. I wish they could have told me that beforehand so I could've chosen something else. The guy who did my hair had the audacity to ask me "you dont like?" i said no, and he said "well other people like it." so im supposed to like it cause of that reason? I also asked the girl what was happening to my hair and she was talking nicely to me till the main stylist decided to stomp over and talk in chinese and I could tell the girl was trying to calm him down which I didnt understand why they're the ones acting that way, like theyre the ones annoyed. I understand the language barrier but it was so rude. the main stylist was even kinda rough handling my hair. They somewhat fixed the color but my hair is so damaged. They gave me a free olaplex but thats just to cover up that they damaged my hair. Overall, the color they "fixed" on me is pretty much gone and my hair is so damaged that I have to buy multiple products just to fix it. At this point, everybody's just telling me to cut my hair. The whole experience was so frustrating and language barrier or not, learn how to communicate what youre gonna do to your client. Never again. read more

Always asks what I want but also provides his point of view. I like that he gives guidance and I'll usually go along with his suggestion. There was one time I needed a last minute haircut for a trip. He squeezed me in the day before and cut my hair in less than an hour. It was perfect. I've gotten a balayage a couple of times with Lam. It's a long and tiring process. Takes about 7 hours. I fall asleep twice on average but Lam makes sure to make me up. The combination of the foil, heat and weight makes me extra sleepy so he always tells me he admires his clients for going through it. He'll offer water and brings me snacks. The service and attention to detail is exceptional! I don't get it done often but Lam makes it a seamless process that gives me the encouragement to come back. Prices are very reasonable and I like that it's conveniently located to a bunch of restaurants, so you can always order delivery and eat at the salon. I believe i got a regular stylist, but i love that during the process Leo and another coworker came in to check and help. A few times there were mistakes being made but it made me happy to see Leo and another worker come by to correct and ensure I left with the best results possible. Several times i could tell some mishaps had happened with the regular stylist but they were corrected and i didnt leave with something i abhorred. Many times salons would cut or dye terrible and just dont care to fix them and send you off then expect full patment. My appointment was made for as soon as their doors opened on Saturday at 10AM but when I walked in, there were already three other customers in chairs! They are so popular! I quickly learned that their popularity is for good reason. I was seated with Lam for a digital perm and he was super knowledgeable; he informed me that my previously bleached ends would have to be cut for the perm, which I did not mind at all. First off the interior of the place is 5/5, clean, modern and has a cool vibe. I booked Leo on a Saturday which made parking a bit difficult so I suggest going on a weekday if you're planning to get your hair cut and styled! So I'm postpartum hair lost at 8months, I've been cutting my hair almost every other month trying to find the best look. I'd like to say about 60% of my hair fell out. I curl it to get that full look! So during the consultation I mentioned how I didn't want bleach on my scalp and showed a picture of the color I wanted. Leo understood my needs and gave me clear explaination that doing a balayage was my best option. No pain, no smell, and omg the color and dimension in colors- 10/10. Crying not crying ! thank you so much for giving this new mom hair life! Total confidence booster and feeling more like myself! I highly recommend this salon -5/5! * perks- free water, personal locker to store items, the cape had a see through section where I was able to read my book for hours!!! I have been in light hair color for the past 8 years and I have very sensitive scalp.. I went to some other salon and they burned my scalp when breaching my hair. Leo does a really great job and my hair still be in nice condition even though I have my hair in platinum colors. But keep in mind it takes long time for this process so make sure to have the whole day free if you plan to do this color. I would recommend call in to book reservations instead of walk in. read more
