When you walk in for the first time you are wowed by the amount of games and variety of items they have. Any gamer or nerd would love looking at their inventory. The problem is NOTHING IS PRICED. My biggest pet peeve is when stores do not price items. Do you expect me to come to the front and ask you the price on a bunch of games? It makes zero sense. You lost a customer because of it. There were probably 20 games I was interested in getting prices for but I am not waiting that long for an employee to look them up and give me market or above market price (according to other reviews). I am sure they have lost many customers because they want to save a few bucks on market fluctuations. Stupid business decisions will cripple stores like this. I think the funniest part is the only thing in the store that's price is their trading cards. I don't care if stores price their Pokemon above MSRP. It's the norm now, it doesn't bother me, but when you can't price a $10 game but you are over TCG/Ebay on trading cards it makes you laugh. The employees/owners seem so uninterested in talking to people. There was a guy in front of us trying to get some info and they acted like it was a bother. This store has amazing potential. A clean store layout with great inventory is a recipe for success but when you pair it with dumb decisions and bad customer service you will lose many returning customers that could have spent thousands in your store. I grew up in that era so I was stoked to see so many old familiar titles on display. I will say the place felt almost more like a museum or a hobbyist's den than a store, lol. Not a lot of obvious price tags on much of the older stuff; clearly if you were interested in purchasing, you'd need to get the help of an employee. Most of it was either behind glass or on an inaccessible shelf as well. Which makes a certain sense, because these are collector's pieces at this point that require careful handling. You don't want any kid wandering in and messing with a game cartridge worth $100+. I didn't buy anything while there, but it was really fun to marvel and take it all in like a sightseer, or time traveler haha. It was a pretty large store (at least double the footprint than GameStop) and there were plenty of fun decorations on the walls or hanging from the ceiling. Lots of arcade cabinets and such. Anyway, they must be doing okay because this is their newest secondary location. I'll have to stop by the original in Shakopee sometime.

It's cluttered in the front with little to no room to check out. There is a table with a lot of stuff just sitting there. On the other hand the place is good with a lot to select from for your collection. But one the employees didn't respect personal space when i was going through product and didn't seem to care. when checking out we tried making conversation and we're looked at like we were crazy, we were brushed off. It was awkward. The value of the collector's items and other merchandise isn't bad at all it's very moderate compared to other shops in the area. Would I come here for a sense of community and to play the games (pokemon, magic of the gathering, and dnd)? no. The only thing I can give them is that they had a good selection of product. Personally I'd rather go to the other small game shops in the St. Cloud area and to build a sense of community there. I'd only come here to buy something if I knew what I wanted and be in and out. This place could be amazing but I think (as someone who works in sales and retail) that management needs to sit down with their employees go through selling pitches, how to respect the customer while giving them the help they need. Price was very reasonable (Batteries Plus want 6x more than what this place charged) and the iPhone was repaired within an hour. It is also a FUN place to browse around in as there are two other shops connected to it, including collectable toys, retro stereo equipment, vinyl albums, and a very cool vape shop. This is the place to go to for phone repairs and for a fun shopping outing.

I still have the old consoles I grew up with, and sometimes it's fun to pick up a title I never got to play as a kid and play it now as an adult (next best thing, right?). My friend and I were at Southdale Center Mall just wandering around when we happened across this place. We HAD to go in when I saw the fun standee of Sonic the Hedgehog in the window. The decor is pretty fun, featuring lots of faves you'll recognize. They even have a DDR machine and Mortal Kombat II arcade cabinet available to play on there in the store (which btw, are set to free play on the weekends! So rad!). My friend chat up a couple of the employees that were working there about potentially trading in one of her consoles. I just enjoyed browsing about to see what all they had. Finally someplace that isn't just half Funko Pops! The back of the store is set up for party rentals, which is cool. Looks like they had lots of room for folks to game on whatever console their heart desired, as well as a projector for movies or whatever else. Definitely seems like it would make for a fun birthday or whatever celebration. The pricing also seemed extremely reasonable: $200 for two hours and up to 24 people! First it was ok we need to wait for parts the bottom screen was pixelated a bit otherwise worked fine just needed a new bottom screen. Then we get a call 3 months later saying it no longer turns on the pervious technician H Had damaged the 3ds in the process now they need new parts. Its been a game of phone tag of empty promises. This 3ds was special to my gf its the last thing she ever received from her deceased father. It has photos save files from games they played together they have not answered our questions regarding that the data will be safe and the repair will happen. We have called multiple times they keep saying they'll get back to us when the technician is in but still no answers. Horrible experience I just hope we can get the 3DS back with the data and memories intact.

Games have become more costly as the years go on but that's normal for everything we purchase. I sadly don't trade in much anymore since they were oversaturated with PS4's when I was selling mine but my past experiences have been great and they were always my go to for new games I was on the hunt for - I love supporting them! This was our first time living in the big city and luckily was able to find an apartment pretty quickly and that so happened to be right across the street from your store Level Up Games. As avid gamers and MTG players this was a great resource to have and a safe space to meet new people, make friends, and establish ourselves in the community. After my partner had been going on Wednesdays to MTG night for a while he learned that you all provided free DND sessions to anyone that wanted to break into table top games. This was something out of my comfort zone and I had been going through a emotional transition from this being my first big move away from home and everyone I used to know to moving here and kind of having to start over essentially. It was hard for me. My partner found this outlet for us to explore together and it started out great we were going regularly every week, we were learning something new, and having fun doing it. Eventually we were going enough that we had made a couple of really good friends there. Unfortunately there ended up being a situation where my partner had to endure a few instances of racism directed towards him by one of the DMs of the Mead Halls Mightiest at Level Up Games. It started off with small things like, speaking up with corrections only when my partner had any input, making back handed insults about his intelligence, also putting handicaps on character creation where other people did not. This lead into more intense behavior such as avoiding DMing sessions in which he would be at the table, isolating him and his friend group to were they had to play sessions only with themselves, and defaming his personal character to the other DMs to cause a rift of distrust in order to get rid of him. This had been going on for a while and after one session were there where some content where we were trying to get some elementals vacation time to visit their families because this Spa owner had them sign a contract were they had to work for her forever. Anyways, this lead to a huge argument where my partner called them out and asked what their problem was. They went on to explain that it was because he makes other people playing the game uncomfortable. They had went on the explain that in one instance he had copied their charter creations in order to make the same kind of character. He also was accused of in acting what seemed like sexual assault on an NPC. Their words Ver Batam. This of course is in accusation of the only African American that comes to these things and this was the only DM that ever had a problem with my partner. This lead with the head of the Mead Hall backing all their lies and instead of promoting a safe space of equally and inclusion they kicked us out and tried banning us from the store in which they had no power. In conclusion we thought leaving Tennessee would mean less racism and more acceptance, but turns out racism is everywhere and you have to keep your eyes out and not turn a blind eye. It's a shame you don't have leaders of the Mead Hall that can be bold enough to hold down the principals of your establishment. Dungeons and Dragons is a game that accepts everyone no matter where you come from, what you look like, what race or sexuality you are. It's a shame that it wasn't reflected at your establishment due to a small few. Thank you.
