Hello Dumplings!…read more Saturday morning plans were to-FINALLY make it to the Lakeline Farmers Market, explicitly seeking Steamies Dumplings. My original intent was to try their soup dumplings. Sadly, they stopped serving soup dumplings, but they explained how difficult it is to transport them, which is understandable. On the upside, they are opening a brick and mortar location shortly that will be serving soup dumplings. You can guarantee I will be there the moment they open the door. The owners are a super sweet, super cute couple who had great routine nailed down. There was a variety of dumplings to enjoy. They are served by six, and I believe eight or twelve (can't remember). I did order three flavors of six, which included the pork, veggie, and there special of the day. I loved the taste each dumpling had. All were unique. The texture of the dumpling was perfect. Not too think, not too doughy and not too chewy. If you are in North Austin or looking for a change of scenery, I encourage you to make the trip and try this hidden gem. Quite honestly, I was full after eating 1/4 of the sandwich, which had cabbage, pickles and of course the pork (not the typical stringy pork but chunks of pork bursting with smokey flavor). The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. This was not your typical banana pudding (dense and flavorful). I certainly understand why they run out of this dessert. Service was superb! Great dining experience...

The first time that I went to Rollin' Smoke, I wanted to order the Pork Spareribs but they weren't available so that's when I was introduced to the Pork Belly Burnt ends so today, I ordered just 1 Pork Sparerib today which was good but not great, sadly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Boozy Brussel Sprouts which were smoked and flashed fried, a balsamic glaze with whiskey soaked raisins and parmesan. Lately, our top rated Yelp reviews are with food trucks. Today we were in the mood for Pad Thai, which brought us to Weladee Thai Kitchen. Weladee means "good times" in Thai. Interestingly, Weladee Thai kitchen has three entrees Pad Thai,Tom Kha and Pad Ka Pro. Pina, the owner, said she used to have 5 menu items but all she can handle currently is 3. She is the only one working in the food truck. Pina was super friendly and personable. Now, for the Pad Thai...the box felt very heavy. It was enough Pad Thai in the box to feed 3 hungry people. The noodles were fresh, soft and flavored well. There were big chunks of chicken in the Pad Thai and it was extra tender. The meal was at the perfect spice level. The food court tables had no visitors. Today the temperature is 95 degrees, i. e, sizzling hot vibe.
