    Brisket cheesesteak

I was recommended this by someone when we were talking about hidden gems to eat where we live. Oh boy, was she right. This place is a hidden gem. In a Valero gas station, this grill makes a fire brisket cheesestaek sandwich. It comes out nice and hot with some spicy mayo. If you come hungry, fill up on this meal. Owned to which I believe is family. The cook knows what he is doing. The lady taking my order filled with smiles and welcomed me. She said if this is your first time try our Philly. AM I glad. I think yes! They have breakfast tacos burgers. The place is super casual. I mean, it's in the middle of a gas station. If anyone knows, it's a hit or miss on gas station food. We'll I'll say it again. This is a direct hit o. The bulls eye of flavor. Gas up and eat all I can ask for.

So, they used to have a food truck pre-covid but now we get the luxury of a take out feel while protected from the outdoor elements and also conveniently located within Fizola Market! I should know the owner's name because last time I was there I met his Mom, who is adorable BTW... she is so proud of her son and his menu. Me too! This morning my son was sent home from school not feeling too top and we swung into Fizola for some electrolytes. The smell of the Grille made my stomach growl so I had to pop over and grab myself a breakfast taco. My son was totally excited when he saw the drawing of the pig and the words BACON on the sign. Minutes later we were tasting their special new House potatoes! WOW those are GOOD!!! They are perfectly seasoned and have that light crisp on the outside with that soft and warm potato inside. You don't even need a sauce, but they also offer a chipotle mayo for the tacos (and potatoes!!) and it's bomb. He also offers veggie versions and there is a great list of lunch items on the menu as well. Philly Cheesesteak was a special that I saw. Check it out and let me know what YOU think! Family owned local business right here in our hood.

Austin Restaurant Week takes place from August 28th through September 13th. First stop...Rollin Smoke BBQ, located in the Chalmers building, which filled with a crowd of people. I ordered a pull pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese and banana pudding. The pulled pork sandwich was huge, which I shared with the hubs. Quite honestly, I was full after eating 1/4 of the sandwich, which had cabbage, pickles and of course the pork (not the typical stringy pork but chunks of pork bursting with smokey flavor). The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. This was not your typical banana pudding (dense and flavorful). I certainly understand why they run out of this dessert. Service was superb! Great dining experience...

I order a very nice lite afternoon snack, 1/2 lb of Prime Pork Belly Burnt Ends, 1 Pork Sparerib, and a side of Boozy Brussels. The Prime Pork Belly Burnt Ends which are tossed in bourbon sauce and smoked again for a tender meat candy-like finish which was quite to the contrary, not overbearingly sweet, just a hint. The first time that I went to Rollin' Smoke, I wanted to order the Pork Spareribs but they weren't available so that's when I was introduced to the Pork Belly Burnt ends so today, I ordered just 1 Pork Sparerib today which was good but not great, sadly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Boozy Brussel Sprouts which were smoked and flashed fried, a balsamic glaze with whiskey soaked raisins and parmesan. I am definitely returning to check out the Half Chicken Plate with 2 small sides that I eyeballed.

I moved to Austin about a month ago, and I've already lost count on how many times I've eaten here…read more It is SO GOOD!! I've also already brought friends and family to try it! The breakfast tacos have a flavor I've never been able to get at home. I don't know how they cook everything! The 3am is by far my favorite taco with that breakfast sausage that tastes like real meat. I've also gotten the "beef" nachos maybe three times. I'm constantly craving those. The food truck park is a cute area with lots of tables and fans. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast even when they're busy.

Service The guy working the truck seemed to be high while taking our orders and making food. That must explain why tacos are $7, they were decently large and that runny age was good. It also took ages to make and get our food. I know vegan food does tend to take longer because of the care process, but this was another level. They did not call our names when the food was ready and it took ages. We even came to check on our food a few times and it was not ready. Ambiance Food truck in the middle of an empty lot. There are quite a few other trucks, but they were all pretty expensive. Bathrooms are decent onsite and there area few tables around the here you can eat. Honestly meh on the location and truck food.
