I needed my crochet taken out, my hair washed, and a new install of the crochet. She quoted me several hours and the price point was so reasonable. She required everyone wear a mask to abide my COVid-19,guidelines. Her assistant started me right on time and had me out in decent time to see my makeup artist. Although, It's a beauty shop/braiding shop, I brought my own hair off Amazon. Mimi does sell hair and she did like 3 clients while I was getting my hair done. She does a great job and is very fast ! The salon is equipped with dryers, sink, bathroom, salon stations, etc. They only accept Cash, Zelle, or Cash App. So, please be prepared as you can't use a debit or credit card as form of payment. The salon is in the back of the beauty salon. Ive been traveling to Maryland for the last 10 years to get my hair done. So, I'm so glad there is a beauty salon in Northern VA with reasonable prices! So we went to the barbershop, every single barber in there said we needed braids first - complete opposite of what we were told over the phone. So we make our way to this salon. We walk in, and a lady walks in behind us. Vic sey speaks to her first, and starts washing her. Despite having just seen us outside and saying she would be right in for us. So we wait about 30 minutes while she washes and sets this lady that came in behind us. As soon as I was going to say something, she pulls my boyfriend to get his hair washed. Great, it's starting. At that point it's 2:00pm. He gets washed and blown out, then the lady that came in behind us gets rinsed out, blown out, and flat-ironed. So we just sit there for another 30 minutes. At 3:00pm she pulls him to start braiding, so I left to get food. I come back and she was outside talking to her friends and not 1 braid had been started. That's ridiculous! Apparently she is moving to another salon and her little friend can't wait to talk to her because as my boyfriend is getting his hair done, her lil friend sits next to them and continues to talk about whatever they're talking about. I'm not sure where she is going but best of luck to those customers. She lacks customer service skills, had zero professionalism, and it's no wonder there were no other customers. When you're getting your hair done you're supposed to feel confident but I felt the complete opposite, insecure and have chosen not to wear it out since. I was getting my hair done for my birthday that same day and could not even wear it in a silk press because of this. I came in for a silk press on my 4C hair. Carolette started by completely greasing my scalp and the straightening it. My roots were not straightened whatsoever and because she put heavy grease on my scalp my hair had no movement and was stiff. The TRIM is my major issue with the styling she did! My hair is completely uneven, which I can agree my hair needed a trim but wow it looks like I have split ends with the trim she gave me. She CUT my hair so much shorter and I would say this is botched. I have no issue with getting my hair trimmed/cut and actually prefer bobs but this was a disaster of a job. When she finished I explained to her how my hair was uneven, she literally left one long piece on one side lol. She said while pointing at some poster that I honestly didn't look at "A TRIM WILL BE UNEVEN, IF YOU WERE GETTING A CUT THEN IT WOULD BE EVEN". I have never heard that in my life! But ok. She was defensive about my concerns she even cut me off. I tried to explain to her that if my hair needed a trim and the trim would be uneven with me being a NEW CLIENT I think it would be best to explain that. Most professional stylist will give you a consultation on how much they are cutting or even better would you as a client would prefer. I was charged $75 for the silk press and $25 for the trim. I later after realizing the extent of the "trim" and unevenness that was concealed by curls at the time, I requested a discount on the service. I've never had to ask that of a stylist before but I was just so upset over the appearance of my hair it seemed right and she discounted me 40% on the service. The way that my hair is cut I will have to spend more money to fix and possibly cut it really short to accommodate for the unevenness. I am surprised that she felt comfortable as the OWNER with the way she styled my hair and felt comfortable about letting me leave the salon that way lol. Overall, I'm still hurt over this experience and unless you want a trim like mine then you should try to avoid.

My hair is now damaged, thinner and brittle from the adhesive form previous tape in extensions. Thankfully I found Chy on Yelp, not far from me to do a much healthier way to add extensions. Chy was super sweet and knows her stuff. She did tell me that with my thin, blonde hair the tape in extensions are not for me and to keep the integrity of my hair she recommended the micro bead technique for my install. They are SOOOO unprofessional, slow and sometimes on two out of the three occasions personal hygiene issues were really distracting. The place says walk ins 24/7 but they can't support that model well. The last time we called and even after they changed our appointment they were still an hour late to start. Good news is the braiding once it's done is pretty good and the pricing is more reasonable than others in the area but you get what you pay for by way of professionalism. We will not be back a fourth time unless it's truly an emergency.
