Hit or miss. If they can take you quickly, they do a decent job. Doesn't matter if you make an appointment, you could still end up waiting over an hour. The ventilation isn't the best either, which is a problem when it's cold out and they keep the front door closed. read more

This place did a nice Job on my mani pedi but my eyelashes? Total bomb. Heath concerns too. She put way too many lashes on me, and then when I requested that she remove some she just yanked all of them off which pulled out my real lashes. My lash line is red and swollen. And she didn't wear gloves!! Also, she wanted me to keep my eyes open while applying!!! I've never heard of such a thing. I called the health dept. read more

Very nice people and good job. They speak English very well. I'm giving 3 stars solely because the ventilation in that place is bananas. The chemical smell is overwhelming. Ugh my usual place was soooo busy this morning! So I found this place. I give them one star for being nice and price was not bad. I was wondering why this place wasn't busy on a Saturday morning. They did such a horrible job on my nails. The owner did my nails so I was expecting a phenomenal job. But they came out so bad. The filing job wasn't horrible. But once she painted them I was literally sitting in the chair about to start crying. I hate complaining and arguing so I chose just not to say anything, and will never return to that place again. I'm from NYC and I go to school here in Hartford now. My roommate and I have been looking for a good affordable nail salon and this is now our go-to spot. It's so clean and they do nails well for a fill in its only $15 and they have nail polishes like Essie and Opi. The ladies there are really nice too. They made conversation and asked for our names and I liked that they tried to get to know us so we can be more comfortable to come back. read more

I love this nail salon. All the artists do an amazing job, and you will always enjoy a laugh while your there. The owner Jenny is super amazing. I love her and she always knows her clients by name which is a great trait in the business she is in. My nails are always on point when I leave and for 3 weeks straight I will get complaints on the colors and designs. This place also does eyelash extensions. They are so natural looking you will never want to see yourself without them. I encourage anyone who has thought about eyelash extension before but been spectacle to go out and try nail art salon Jenny well do an amazing job for you you will absolutely love them. And she does them for a really great price !!!! Went in last week to get a manicure and pedicure and was so happy with how they came out! I only had to wait 5 minutes and they had tons of polish to look at so I was occupied.I had trouble choosing a polish and all of the girls were so helpful. I really felt relaxed and reguivated after my visit. My friends go here all the time and told me this was the best place to go around here. so I got my nails done I got them French with hearts the French was really nice it was royal blue but with the hearts she did not do them right they were not how I ask for them and they were really chunky and then I saw that she was doing that and I asked her would you like to change the design and I do the heart she said nope I have it and then started to do the hearts and they were not how I ask for that . read more

I love this place for many reasons; most importantly all equipment is cleaned and sterilized with a sterilizer machine, and all the staff are respectful and actually talk to you and not each other while service is being rendered. This is the only place I trust for pedicures as cleanliness, quality and professionalism are all very important to me. And the added bonus is great prices. 5 starts!! I drive 20 mins just to come to this place, when I have a nail salon around the corner from me. Ask for jenny or sandy you will not be disappointed !!!!!! This is a great nail salon. I grew up in NY in the 80s and have been to lots of nail places. The staff are professional and funny and there isn't a long wait even as a walk in in a weekend. Today I got a uv gel manicure and eyebrow wax with autumn and I was very happy. read more

Place was super cute... Clean and right to the point. They spoke English and had a happy nice inviting set up. Prices are great. I was scheduled for a pedicure (chairs were comfy) but changed my mind for a polish change. My tech still took her time and did a wonderful job. I'd be happy to come here again. Jenny's place is awesome! I'm new to the area and I've been coming here since I moved last summer. Not only is it super affordable, but you also can have a blast with the ladies while youre at the shop. Jenny does my nails to absolute perfection, meeting my every expectation and need (which are different every time I come). Sandy is a true artist. Did I have to give it a star? Asked for a manicure and a pedicure. Got half of both. Nice staff. Older woman did my service - which is why I didn't Complain so much. Cuticles on mani and pedi were basically not touched- she literally moved the clipper around not removing anything! It was the most frustrating experience ever. Just went for my third nail appt and first pedicure and finally ready to write a review. I love this salon! Since my long-time nail tech retired, I've had a hard time (a) finding a salon that does acrylic, and (b) finding a salon that i actually like. I am so happy that I found Jenny and Nail Art & Design (with a little help from Yelp!). Jenny does a great job on my nails, but the pedicure was something to write home about! I have had two very positive experiences at this nail salon. The first time I went, my hands were a wreck due to an allergic reaction I was having to latex, and I needed to have my acrylic nails removed. Jenny was not only generous in taking the time to wrap each finger in gauze with the remover, rather than soaking my hands in it. But she was also very kind and sympathetic. The second I came, months later, to have gel nail polish applied, she did a beautiful, professional job which lasted well over three weeks. Once again, she took her time and did a great job. The atmosphere of the salon is intimate and familial, cordial and generous. The work is professional and long-lasting. A few days ago, I went to this salon for the first and last time. I typically go to shiny nail salon at west Hartford center (which is super awesome and I highly recommend). The only reason I came here was because I wanted Fourth of July nail art. The lady did her best to do cute Fourth of July designs on my finger nails and they looked pretty cute. It wasn't exactly what I had been hoping for, but she explained it is hard to do designs on short finger nails. WELL I do admit I have short nails and didn't want fake ones, but she filed them down soo short that it was hurting my skin. I've never seen them so short and poorly filed as this place did to mine. Also, I don't do anything that would cause my nails to chip right away but they did. I am not kidding when I tell you two of my nails were chipped within two hours of leaving the salon. Two days later and half the nail polish is chipped away on every nail. I get manicures very very frequently and this has NEVER happened so quickly. So that really sucked and I am so mad I wasted my money on that. The entire time the lady was doing my nails she kept asking me if I like my eye brows and if I wanted her to wax them. I typically stick to my normal hair salon to do my eye brows bc I really trust them to do them how I want. I said sure, very hesitantly, and this was the worst mistake I've made in awhile. I told her, not even exaggerating, over 10 times that I just wanted them SHAPED and not thinned or anything. She assured me they would not be any thinner than they already were and she was only going to clean them up and shape them. as she was waxing them I voiced that I was worried she was making them too thin and she once again assured me she wasn't. Well guess what? She pretty much waxed my entire eye brows off. I have never been more horrified at my looks in my life than when I looked in the mirror when she was done. I had to fight back tears so hard. My eye brows are pretty much non existent right now and it is humiliating. I have to wear sunglasses everywhere I go. I told her I was very upset and that she did EXACTLY what I had begged her not to do. I mean once it had been done, there was nothing we could do to get my eye brows back... But she could have said sorry or not charged me for this terrible service. She did neither of those. Note to self, never get my brows waxed at a nail salon again. I cannot believe I had to pay for a manicure that chipped away in hours and for someone to wax my eyebrows off. I am extremely disappointed. read more
