I've been coming her for over 2 years. Family run shop that's incredibly clean and welcoming.

The initial impression: Daniel greeted us once he was completed ringing someone out. He asked what we were getting and then asked whether or not we had called ahead. We noted to him that we called ahead, informed them what we were getting, and was told to come now.Living 15 minutes away, that is what we did. There was a lot of back and forth with the older sister ( maybe Helen?) in which she spoke in Vietnamese stating that we never mentioned the gel manicure which we did. I then waited half an hour to be sat to possibly get my nails done. The older sister was supposed to get my gel manicure done quickly but got loud and rude as she realized that I had gel on and it was not taken off yet. Her demeanor continued as she constantly pushed Daniel around and even her mother. Her mother sat down to get my manicure done which was only right since I had waited for over an hour. She continued to express to her mother that she should have did the acrylic instead and let me wait. Her mother then raised her voice and stated that she keeps saying it but she's still sitting here doing the manicure. Then passed me onto Daniel to finish off. Daniel has a good mentality and attitude but is still learning. Overall, my nails were nice in terms of the manicure sense but lacked top coat strongly which made it come out streaky. Le did my mother in law's nails. He was quick but efficient. He took his time where it mattered most such as massaging and more. He did an amazing job with her nails and was hilarious ! He called his fan an ac as a joke and was social with his customer. Lastly, the older male in glasses. He did my sister in laws nails. He was EXTREMELY nice and efficient. He made sure that there was no room for imperfection! Pricing was ridiculous! I paid over 150 for two pedicures(27 each), acrylic fill with gel polish, a gel manicure (30), and a color change... I LOVE this place! I hated getting my nails done but wanted to have them look nice for my wedding. Despite being short staffed, Katie made sure my wedding party had an amazing experience when we all came in for gel manis and pedis. These women are so talented and professional but made me, someone who wasn't comfortable having my nails done/hates anything touching my feet/hadn't gotten nails done in over a decade(!!!), feel so comfortable, relaxed, and pampered. The end result was STUNNING! I am so incredibly thankful to Katie and her amazing staff for taking care of me and I will be a regular customer forever! Edit: I am now a regular customer because this place is just amazing and no matter what I ask for or how silly my questions are, I am always treated warmly and kindly and the results are impeccable. I have had the pleasure of getting my nails done by Katie, Tran, and Helen and their work is remarkable. Unlike other salons, every artist here is truly committed to providing excellent customer service and beyond perfect results. This family business is leagues above any chain or quick stop shop. Great experience! First, they are an absolutely beautiful family. Everyone is very nice and accommodating, great customer service. They also do BEAUTIFUL work! I have been seeing Katie for some time now and she is fantastic. She provides great services, and at the same time, she is quick! Normally, quick might mean that they don't know what they're doing and that they're in a rush... but with Katie, this is never the case! I have been getting my nails done here for a while, but I no longer will. The past time I went I got a fill and required 2 nails to be reapplied because they fell off. two days after I got the fill 2 more nails fell off. I couldn't get them fixed as I was leaving for vacation. After I got back I went to get them fixed somewhere closer to home and discovered nail fungus (not on any of the nails that had been reapplied). Nail fungus happens when the acrylics are not applied correctly. This place is quite expensive, so there is no reason I should be getting nail fungus. I discovered this salon about a year ago and have never went anywhere else since and I LITERALLY live in Manhattan, NY, I come home to CT every two weeks JUST to come to this salon. Katie and Helen are very professional and well trained. Anything you've seen on Instagram- they can do! And for reasonable prices too. The friendliest family and pleasant environment. After going to numerous nail salons of all price ranges and experience this place is by far my favorite, and in my opinion the best!! The prices are decent, you get what you pay for. But the experience is like none other. Check their Instagram page if you don't believe me. Just a warning, if you make an appointment be prepared to wait and not get seated immediately. If they have a lot of walk-ins that's bound to happen, so just be patient and know that you'll get called on eventually! That's what happened at my appointment today. I got there about a half hour early 12:30 and waited for longer than I'd like to (my appointment was at 1) but I got seated! Katie took care of me. She is absolutely amazing and super sweet! I was getting the rest of my gel fill taken off (after cutting my fake nails myself) and replacing it with a regular gel manicure. Katie is super intelligent when it comes to nails and how to properly take care of them. She told me that it would be a little difficult to put my nails back to the way they were before I started getting them done but that she'd file them down a little bit to the point where all I had was only a small amount of the gel fill left on it, and the next time I came in to let whoever is taking care of me know to fill down the rest. These keeps your nails stronger over time than just filing it off all at once. This more you know! She finished with my nails and I couldn't be happier. She even said she doesn't do manicures all that much, so she kind of forgot the process with them but she did a great job regardless!!! As I was leaving and getting ready to pay Katie said that because I waited to so long that she'd give me a 20% discount. I told her that she didn't have to as I was willing to pay the full price. But she sincerely apologized for the amount of time I waited and cut my total by 20%. If that doesn't show you GREAT customer service then I don't know what does. Honestly not worth the money. Came here to get my nails done for vacation. Got acrylic powder ombré and a pedi that cost me $99. The nail tech who is I guess Katie's mom didn't ask me if the length was okay, she just went ahead and did all my nails and when I looked it wasn't what I wanted. So she said she'd fix it and re applied all the nails but this time very aggressive, quick, and sloppily. Lengths and shapes are different...lots of space between the nail and my cuticle. In the pictures I've attached they're two weeks old so there's obviously growth. Sloppy job. Waste of money. Disappointment. Lets go over some pro's and con's of galaxy nails. To be fair I would have given 3.5 stars if possible, but a high 3.5 so I rounded to a 4. Pros: Katie does a GREAT job shaping nails. My coffin shaped nails are perfect. The polish and the design are wonderful. It is VERY hard finding someone who can properly shape coffin and silhouette nails. That being said, the cons are as follows: Did not trim my nails or cuticles, left a bunch of gunk under my nails, and wasn't paying super close attention and one nail is lumpy. I've been going to Katie for at least 5 years and have followed her to where ever she's worked. (Which isn't close for me... But always been worth it). I was wicked excited when her family opened their own place and have been going since they opened. They are great. I've never had a problem and I have gone 100s of times and I'm super picky. They are NOT expensive (if you think they are, ask yourself what the place Looked like) Katie is always accommodating, works around my touch and always changing schedule. Her mom and sister have also helped me and have done nothing less than a great job. As I said I don't live close I drive 45 minutes because I know I'm getting what I want and for a good price. I would highly recommend this place. They are great people that work hard and do a great job. For those who say they don't obviously don't know what they want or like because if for some reason they don't have the same style or whatever you say something then and there so they can change it, don't complain about it later. Throughly disappointed in my experience at this salon. It's hard for me to write bad reviews due to the fact I also work in a salon but after giving it a week and looking at my nails I have to say something. This salon has great reviews and I've been following their Instagram account for a while. I had my baby shower a week ago so I made a appointment well in a advance to come in the day before for a full set with Katie. I ended up adding a pedicure to my appointment as well... now this pedicure was the worst I've ever had in the sense it was the most NON relaxing time. A sweet older gentleman did it but he had no clue the "special pedicure" that I requested so I feel like he just was winging it- on top of the painful nail filing and when he did the bottom of my feet it was so painful i had to tell him to stop. My feet are always swollen so I was really looking forward to this but halfway through I just wanted it to end. Not to mention he didn't put the tools he used in any kind of sterilizer it just put it back into his basket he had been using and he didn't clean them after I was finished either I know this because I had to wait over a half hour for my nail appointment to begin. I understand people run late but usually if that's the case you could at least keep me informed of it and maybe don't take a walk in to do a design on her nails before you start mine of which was a appointment!! Then when she finally started they were closing so I got a complete blow through special my nails came out nothing like I wanted and starting lifting days later and they look like shit. I have heard great things and even saw great pics on their IG. I finally decided to call and make an appointment. I was able to get my appointment the same day which I was happy about. When you first walk in the place looks warming. I was greeted by who I assume is Daniel, a young kid. I did have to wait a bit after my appt time, but not much. While waiting I believe Daniel's sister, kept nagging at him. It was like no matter what he did, everything he did was just wrong. She did this in front of everyone. Even saying how much he is getting on her nerves. My pedicure job was great, although the cost was more than most places. I wouldn't do another pedicure here for the price. ($27) I also did a fill will one finger design. I did want to get lots of bling after seeing the great pics on their IG but it was getting near closing time and I did not want to be there all night. The girls here are very talented but very rude. They do great designs but the polish they use isn't great. I got a gel manicure and it was coming off by the end of the week. I went a 2nd time thinking maybe she just added to many coats but it still began to peel after a few days. Very overpriced and not the cleanest. The older techs are very nice and are trying their best but it's clear the two young girls run everything and don't care much for customer service or satisfaction. I called GN to see if they had availability for a manicure and they said yes. I got there and ended up waiting 20 mins before I was actually seen. Then, the woman was doing my nails along with another customer so even once I was seated with a tech I had to wait for her to go back and forth between me and the other client. While cleaning up my cuticles she cut me and made my finger bleed. She didn't apologize and actually all that she said was that she had cuts on her fingers too. What was really concerning about that is that their tools were in a glass dish with a paper towel and did not look very sanitized. After sitting there and waiting until almost 7:30 to be done I asked to see the color that I initially picked out because I didn't believe that it was the same color that was on my nails. When they picked up the bottle and put it next to the swatch that I selected you could see that the two were very different and that clearly she had to used the wrong color. They blamed it on me for not noticing sooner and then offered to redo my nails which would have kept me there until almost 9 o'clock at night when I said I wasn't available to do that they offered me to come back over the next few days. This was the first time I'd ever been to GN so clearly after this experience I wasn't going back again and I didn't feel that I should be charged full price considering my finger was bleeding and I had the wrong nail color. They started giving me an attitude instantly and then called the cops on me. While we waited for the cops to arrive, they said numerous rude comments to me and actually threatened me. Also don't bother putting a review on Facebook.. they will just have other customers attack you and leave comments calling you rude and claiming that you're just trying to scam the business AND rate your place of work online. I had the worst experience trying to book appointments for my bridal party to get our nails done. The girl I spoke with on kept repeatedly saying that I was "putting her technicians out of work". When in fact I was guaranteeing 6 manicures and 7 pedicure. The girl sounded nothing but annoyed by the fact that I wanted to to bring my party their. This is sad because it looked like they really could have done a great job with our nails, especially because some girls wanted nail art. Just went there this past week to get my nails done with my sister and cousin. The lady that did my cousin's acrylic nails and pedi was extremely nice and helpful, but my sister was in a lot of pain from the man that did hers. Katie did my acrylics and overall they were good, although she seemed really rushed. Already, two fell off only a week later. So terrible! I had the older lady, she filed my fingers until one was gushing blood. I had tips put on and they were all different lengths and then then I asked her to fix it she told me I was wrong, like I'm not looking at them because they're my own fingers! Got them done only 4 hours ago and one of the fingers is already chipping. All the acrylic is at different levels, horrible job and a horrible attitude too. For those who are used to perfect, Rose was quite stressful. I'm used to long sturdy, coffin shaped nails, but I decided to switch it up to almond which I thought would be easy. My appt, was for 6:00 and did get started till about 6:30 by the time I was done, I was rushed out, and ended up having to perfect the shape and fix my crooked nail, at home. The lovely receptionist was a great help but I think Rose is more for simple things as opposed to modern full gel/ acrylic sets. read more
