It all depends on who you get. Some are good with nails. Others are good with feet. Overall, I would probably use them again.

The manager Ada is rude, she speaks badly about other customers while doing your nails and the staff talk about customers in front of them in another language. They fat shame people and are denying pedicures to people if they are over weight. I have had many issues with my gel dips snd when I return the next day to have it corrected they said it was something I was doing to cause the issues. I had been going here for many years, not sure what has happened. Will not return, can't even give one star , do not recommend. read more

I came here for a pedicure. I put my foot into the water and thought my skin was going to melt off because it was so hot. the tech was slow to react and then ended up almost overflowing the bowl. at that point I thought I had a first degree burn. everything he did hurt. his removal of the gel polish was so rough. he didn't file my nails. he barely scrapped the callus off. I paid for extended massage and he barely massaged me. he seemed like he didn't want to be there. my "hot towels" were barely warm. terrible paint job. they also charge $5 to remove gel and $15 extra for gel on an already $50 pedicure. highway robbery. also no one showed me how to work their massage chair so I got none of the massage. I went there a few times but this last time I went, the lady told me my legs were to heavy for her to hold up and that I had to hold my own legs. Then she lied and said that they don't do eyelash extensions and their website and sign in tablet CLEARLY SAYS THEY DO! Rude! After our host sat me with my 12 year old daughter so she could get her nails done, another nail tech worker walks up with a small child and just points repeatedly at me. Apparently she wanted me to get up. I guess she didn't know enough English to even ask me to move chairs. Our nail tech said and did nothing. How should you make your customers feel welcome and wanted at your place of business? Our nail tech cut all my daughter's nails so they were down to nubs. My two daughters and I decided to have spa day! Mani/pedi's for all. The place was insanely busy, they skipped over us. The receptionist literally pointed at us repeatedly to the nail techs and was extremely rude. After waiting an hour it's finally our turn. The girls get all their stuff done and seemed to enjoy themselves. My pedicure on the other hand was awful and painful. I got the callus treatment (getting ready for flip flops) my left foot she did great.. my right she only scrubbed where there wasn't any calluses. She cut my foot from being too rough AND SOME HOW MANAGED TO LEAVE MY RIGHT FOOT LOOKING WORSE! She never scrubbed my heal or the right side of my right foot. Never again! I almost didn't take a chance with this place because of the poor Yelp reviews, but a local told me that South Carolinians only review bad experiences. That culture totally destroys the reliability of Yelp in S. Carolina so those of you who have good experiences and rely on review aggregator sites for suggestions should really take 5 minutes to write a positive review and help other readers out. Anyway, I'm glad I ignored the Yelpers and went here for a mani/pedi because service was fantastic and the final outcome was great. It's been 3 days and the nails are still looking great with no chipping. They have massage chairs for the pedicures and the staff take care of everything for you. My technician even suggested I get my credit card out before my polish went on to protect my nails. I've been to countless nail salons across the US and the world and only 1 in 10 techs will remember that important detail. The staff is courteous and very service-oriented. They offer soft beverages and I've been told if it wasn't Sunday morning, we would have been offered wine as well. The bathroom was big, brightly lit, and clean and so were all the other facilities. This place is HORRIBLE. They already charge $28 for a mediocre full set of acrylic nails, when most other places charge $25 or lower. I was staying in a nearby hotel and decided to go anyway because it was close by. The woman doing my nails was RUDE and charged me extra, saying that I would have to get the nails cut down to the same length of my real nails to be charged the original $28. What's the point in getting fake nails if they're really short? Then, I asked her to file the nails a little better because I like them square and she rounded off the edges. She said that would also be $5 extra. I told her I refused to pay extra and that I would rather leave, but she complied with me... I thought. After my nails were applied, she gave me my bill that STILL had the extra charges on it. I paid the bill just to avoid further confrontation and I do not plan to ever return to Nail Artisan. I have enjoyed coming here for a few years to get pedicures. I love the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. My visit today was terrible! I was 1 of 2 customers and thought to myself how relaxing this was going to be. WRONG! The staff sitting up front had nothing to do so they sat and laughed at this one employee making prank calls pretending to have a bad stutter. The louder he got, the louder they laughed. This went on for about 15 to 20 minutes. I love to laugh and have a good time too but not in a place that has signs up to silence your cell phones for the comfort of others around you. To top it all off, of all the chairs sitting empty for pedicures...they sit this woman beside me that carries on a conversation with a colleague on the phone pertaining to work. This is my second time trying this place. The first time was awful. But I was in town and decided to give the place a second chance. So this time around, I walk in and literally was the only one in there and I still had to wait ten minutes (which isn't a big deal.... just all the employees were on their phones and stuff). So I sit down with the guy and ask him to do ombré nails but he said it would be $80 WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. So I decided to get just regular colored nails and the whole time he was doing my nails, he was looking for something frantically. I think he was looking for his brush for the acrylic because he used the wrong type of brush on my nails. So that went on the WHOLE time. He sighed probably 60 times in the hour we were sitting there. He cut my nails way too short. He asked where I wanted them and I told him and he accidentally cut one too short and said oops sorry and didn't even offer to fix it. Then he accidentally dropped the nail polish he was about to use on my nails and yelled at the top of his lungs. I was literally scared after that. To add on top of that, while he was holding my hands while putting nails on and painting them, he was holding them so tight they are still aching three hours later. I will never return to this awful nail salon. The first time I went, I went to get a full set.... I had to explain what I wanted 6 different times to the man. The whole time he was doing my nails, another guy and girl was throwing crap at him (which could have damaged my nails or caused me pain), talking to him (causing him to stop multiple times and carry on conversation without even continuing my nails until the conversation was over), he cut my nails WAY too short than where I showed him I wanted and when I mentioned it, he said "oh well done now, unless you want to pay twice", and last but not least I usually pay $25 for a full set (not including a tip) and he charged me $40 for a HORRIBLE job. WILL NOT RETURN AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND. The first time, I put a bad review on their Facebook page and I would assume it was the owner, commented on my review and said "do you expect us to fix your nails for free"? I said uhh yeah? Your nail technician made the mistake and was horribly rude to me. I never got a response. Awful, awful, awful. UPDATE: after i posted this review, they commented on my Facebook posts and posted my receipts with my card number, signature, ya know, personal information on a PUBLIC SOCIAL MEDIA SITE.... then accused me of being hired to write bad reviews. I went to get my nails done here and asked for dip acrylics and when the lady went to file my natural nails down with the tool she went way too far into my nail bed and cut me multiple times. Their service was terrible and when i complained to customer service about my visit i never got any response. I do not recommend getting nails done here. They're unapologetic and have no customer service whatsoever. I will be returning to this location if i have any issues with my fingers healing, as they may get infected. i also paid 50 dollars for these nails!!!!!!! read more

Horrible place to go! My boyfriend and I were literally in there not even 2 minutes ago and sat there for over a half an hour and they looked pass us and was serving people that came in after. I told my boyfriend to ask them if they were calling my name and the lady looked at him and ignored him. They are very rude and their service is not up to part. They left me sitting for over an hour, then the man who was soaking my nails poured the acetone into my bowl that he had used on his previous customer after he had cut 1 of my other nails down into my nail bed, made it bleed, and wouldn't let go. I live in Columbia, but travel through Florence for business a couple times a month. I discovered this salon and make a point to go out of my way when traveling through Florence to get my manicure and pedicure done here as they have always done a great job on my nails. However, today was different. The young lady who was doing my pedicure wasn't paying attention to what she was doing, as she was talking to one of her coworkers, and cut the side of my foot open. She didn't even realize what she did until the blood started running down my foot. The gash was about 1 1/2 inches long. She put some sort of green liquid on it to stop the bleeding, but the burn from the liquid was excruciating. After about 15 minutes, she was able to get the bleeding to stop. At this point, I was ready to leave to go to the hospital to get a couple of stitches in my foot. However, the bleeding seemed to stop. Then, she actually put my foot back down into the water. After she was done, she did clean it off a little bit and put some Neosporin on it and bandaged it up for me. Needless to say with 1 foot pretty much out of commission, I barely even got a pedicure on that foot as I think she was afraid to touch it and cause the bleeding to start all over again. All I wanted to do was to go home and soak my foot in peroxide to avoid any possible infection at this point. It was a long 2 hour drive home! She was very apologetic about the ordeal. However, when she came to tell me how much I owed her for the day, she indicated she was going to discount the services a whopping $5.00 for the inconvenience!! Not only should the pedicure have been free of charge, but the manager or owner should've at least come to talk to me at some point. So disappointed as I really liked this salon. Where is the customer service these days?? I will NEVER return for another visit!!! read more

I didn't know how to give this place 0 stars if that's possible. I called earlier in the week and verified that appointments could be made, as I had a bridal party that was planning to get a few services done. The young lady I spoke with called me back and verified my information and we completed my appointment for 6 ladies. When the party arrived on that Saturday the "manager" informed them that they did not take appointments, and if they wanted they would have to wait like everyone else. There you have a bride and her wedding party the day before her wedding scouting new places to get their manis and pedis and full sets. I spoke with the manager who simply apologize saying the girl I spoke with was the daughter of the owner. Who he couldn't provide a number for. He did NOTHING to compensate his company's error. I explained to him that with that person doing business for him he should hold true to their word, which he didn't. I recommend going someplace else. He was inconsiderate and nonchalant about his company's actions. And i told him I would leave bad reviews anywhere I could. This place is horrible. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Worst pedicure I've ever had. When I went in the waiting room was packed. I asked "how long is the wait for a pedicure" and was told "not too long." I waited 30 minutes not too bad. However I once I got back to the chair I was asked 4 times if I wanted a manicure. I was also asked "what kind of pedicure do you want" which would have been fine if they could have told me the difference between them. My total time in the chair from sitting down to having my shoes back on - 20 minutes. I waited longer for a pedicure than the actual service. My nails were neither filed nor buffed. They are jagged and uneven. You can see the ridges under the poorly applied polish. I say poorly applied because the coral OPI that I picked wasn't applied to the complete nail, has black streaks in it and was all over my toes. I won't be back. read more

Walked in the door pushing a small stroller and they looked at me like I had four eyes. My gf was getting her pedi done so I came in to keep her company. 2 plus people at the small front desk not one hello or how may I help you. Basically took it upon myself to leave the stroller outside and walk past their rude faces to the back where the pedi stations are. Whether they do a good job or not on the nails I don't know yet, but kindness and politeness go a long way in a business and this place just doesn't have it. Read the crappy reviews, but I'm a fair person so we decided we would give them a shot anyway. Yeah our mistake. Should have gone to Mary's or whatever it's called up the street that reviewed well.
