If I could leave 0 stars I would. My mother use to go to the owner Bianca before so retired and I decided to give them a try! Worst decision I could've made. The new owner is literally a bird brain she doesn't care about anything and her customer service is non existent. I went to one of the ladies in there and I can't remember her name but from the looks of how my nails came out she must've been a beginner. It took her almost 3 hours to do a French tip full set. I got my nails done Tuesday and one of them popped off Thursday night. When I went back to the shop Friday morning the new owner told me it'll be 2 hours before they can fix one of my nails. Today was my second visit to Bianca, the owner of Nail Couture Custom Design. The reason for waiting till my 2nd visit before doing a review........I've found in the past that I am extremely happy with my nails at other nail shops, write a review on how wonderful everything was, but find that issues will arise that no longer have me wanting to go back like I thought I would. Ex: Nails start to lift, too thin & crack, polish on toes chip in less then a month, ect So, I wanted to be 100% sure. I'm happy to say that I'm 100% sure, happy, satisfied, content, & well, you get the idea!!! Bianca & all the ladies who work here are TRUE ARTISTS!!! I'm used to nail shops that specialize in designs & 3D nails to have at least 1-2 photo albums of design options to choose from. Bianca has an iPad with OVER 2000, yes....you read right, TWO THOUSAND diff designs to choose from!!! It's crazy!!! & at the same time VERY interesting to see all of the gorgeous, unique, & crazy things that can be done to your nails. On my 1st visit I was asked what color I wanted. Keep in mind all of her powders are Organic. When I requested Pink, with a fading lighter, or Ombré look, Bianca didn't hesitate to say, "Ok!" & then used 3-4 different Pink powders to fill my nails with! That was easy!!!! They looked so beautiful before adding the Swarovski Crystals that I almost wanted to leave them as they were. BUT, if you know me, you know just how flashy I am, & I just had to go all the way!!! Out of all of the diff looks that I've had on my nails, these def turned the most heads, got the most compliments, & shined the brightest!!! Even after almost 4 weeks they still looked fresh!!! Prob has a lot to do with the fact that they do not use rhinestones. No lifting after 4 weeks, No missing Swarovski Crystals, No cracking or chipping......YEP, I HAD TO GO BACK!!! My 2nd visit, just as great as my 1st!!! Bianca asked how I'd like my nails this time & I told her to do whatever she wanted......my nails are her canvas!!! I absolutely LOVED the excitement on her face when the creative wheels kicked into motion!!! She used SEVEN diff colored powders, added 3 diff colored bb type beads that create a very cool look under the top clear coat of acrylic, created 3 3D flowers from powder on my ring fingers, & went wild with the Swarovski Crystals!!!! She picked the PERFECT color for my toes, ohhhhh!!!!! I'm sooooo satisfied!!!! Now, here's a few must know tips about this WONDERFUL nail shop, so you'll be prepared. ALWAYS call ahead to make an appointment. Don't expect to be able to run right over after calling, or walk in & have a tech sitting waiting for a walk-in. Not gonna happen, Not your usual nail shop!!! I make a point to call 3-5 days in advance. & to some, that may seem like a long time, but it's sooooooo worth it!!!! At the present time, Nails & Toes is what this shop is all about!!! Not lashes, waxing, tattoo makeup, massage.......JUST NAILS & TOES. (I'm sure one day that may change, but for now, I can totally see why it's strictly nails) Swarovski Crystals are used, NOT rhinestones!!! The small crystals are 4 for $1, (I believe) & cost goes up depending on what you choose. If you want to be BLINGED OUT, I suggest you do like me & just say........"I don't wanna spend more then $100" for example. I think I've about covered it........yep. Bianca & all the ladies over at Nail Couture Custom Design are extremely friendly, super sweet, & ALWAYS make you feel welcome!!! If you're a nail addict like myself, getting to this shop is a MUST!! Special Congrats to being the 1st all Hispanic Nail Salon in Houston & Celebrating her 1 Year Anniversary in August 2013!!!! This shop will forever be in business!!! Lorena also does my nails, the sweetest person in the world! she also does fantastic work. and lastly Annel does great work as well. those are the 3 I always look for. The only thing I don't like is having to make reservations but I completely understand why. This place was sanitary and neat. The lady who did my nails (unfortunately I don't remember her name) did an amazing job, especially with the 3D designs. One of my favorite nail salons, pricey but it's worth it. Very unprofessional. I booked me and my cousin and appointment at the same time with two different nail tech, they told my cousin to wait, she waited a total of 1 hr and a half. She told the ladies if she had an apointment why she didn't get attended sooner and they ALL just blew her off, one of them stepped in and said she had a client.... So just because you have a client you make the person who has an appointment wait so long? Also the lady who was doing my nails ( I didn't even get her name) did the worst 3D nail job! Couldn't even do flowers on my nails and kept saying because I didn't get them long enough, well I've been PLENTY of place where they did the design I wanted no matter the length of the nail. Bianca the owner does great nails, yes in fact she does! That is why I wanted to learn from her and signed up for her classes. I paid $550.00 for a deposit which included a kit and the last 3 classes. I went to a total of one class which I paid for. I had to miss one class due to unforeseen circumstances, but I paid for that class anyway bc she said she would teach me at a later date. She never did! She then wanted me to change my schedule to accommodate her vacation time she was going to take. (SHE KNEW SHE HAD A CLASS TO TEACH, WHY TAKE VACATION?) I have a regular job from 8am to 5pm. She wanted me to miss work and come in at 2pm there is no way. I have to work I signed up for the classes thinking they were from 5pm to 10pm. I even changed my schedule for that one day class was. Well needless to say I couldn't attend the class anymore. It was too much back and forth for me. I disputed the charges and it's in process right now in attempting to return the money I paid for classes I DID NOT ATTEND! When she found out she took to Facebook and Instagram and slandered my name. She posted that I stole 1100.00 from her. These are LIES! If anything I'm trying to retrieve my money she will not release for classes I DID NOT ATTEND! This lady is good at doing nails yes! But she is a scam!! She flat out lied on my name and won't release what is not hers! She is a horrible business person. She knows I did not attend those classes but yet she is spreading lies about me saying I stole from her! SHE STOLE FROM ME???? I'm out of that money! For nothing!!!! This is the worst business I have EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN!!! EVER!!! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! She is not any angel she is the devil in disguise! Beware!!! One star --- Because spite the beautiful work and warm-friendly services; someone within the business is a THIEF! I was very excited about coming in for all the services paid for and the nail tech was very nice. As a first and last time patron, even during services of referring my sister... My bank card was compromised and the information gave because of the type of account held, led the transaction right back to the nail salons owner (directly/indirectly). Doesn't help that the (high end) retail store, a single item $400 online purchase was being held due to verification purposes, gave me the information for the delivery of the intended order and proceeded to cancel the order once determined I was the legitimate cardholder and DID NOT AUTHORIZE the purchase/transaction. It's just sad that one cannot patron small businesses monetary or through referral to aid in prosperity of growth because of one trying to take advantage of or get over on another individual. All it takes is one bad person, one bad experience or scenario to make the surrounding individuals or business (for either by association) be frowned upon and have skepticism when patronage of small businesses. I guess I'll never get to experience this place because their professionalism is horrible when it comes to business. Let me tell you why.... I called a week early and made an appointment with Bianca. My appointment was scheduled for 3 PM. I was literally almost about to arrive to their location when I realized that they had tried to call me around 2:30 and I missed the call. So I decided to call back to see if everything was okay. Basically I was told that if I came in I would not be out until around 5 o'clock. In my mind I'm thinking if I made a 3 o'clock appointment should take no more than an hour to do a fill in a few designs. Bianka tells me that she is running behind because someone else wanted some extravagant designs. Now with being with me being a hairstylist, I understand what it means to honor an appointment with a client and how time is precious when you're dealing with people in the beauty business. I feel like she if she's going to accept appointments with clients then she needs to book a certain amount of time for certain services or designate a certain amount of time per client no matter what they get so that someone else sees appointment is not overlapping into The next person's appointment. I'm upset about this because she kept hanging up the phone & she wasn't really professional and she didn't really seem to care about the fact that I told her that it takes about an hour to drive to where she is and an hour to drive back and that I needed to be able to be in and out because I have clients too and didn't care to reschedule me...customer service is what keeps customers coming back. I'm very upset that I had to drive all the way back to my salon without my nails done..I don't think I'll ever go back there. They would have to fix this situation before I'd consider coming back. I would never do this to a client. Just because your work may be great doesn't mean it's ok to slack off in the customer service department. I give them 10 demerits! When Bianca, the owner, saw that I'd left this bad review, she got upset and refused to let me get my nails done with her after that. When I did come in, she kept giving me newbies or nail techs who did sloppy work. Instead of simply apologizing for the bad experience, she got mad about the review instead of fixing or addressing the issues I had and my nails, she got mad and no longer wanted to service me. If sh has just fixed the issue and allow me to get my nails done and wasn't so negative about it, I'd have deleted the review. Oh well. Reviews don't lie. read more
