I have been coming to this salon since 2016. I've always gone to Vy to get my nails done. Usually he always did a good job until recently I had a negative experience with his product. I came into his shop on my lunch break. I went in to get a specific shape done (pointy stiletto to be a exact), I told him what I wanted and to make it Matte. He removed the remainder of the gel set that was left from the previously set I had on. He filed my nails and buffed them. He moved onto putting the new set of nails on, it was fine. He filed/buffed/shaped them. By this time my lunch break was coming to an end so I told him. He said to come back after work and he'll finish them off. When I came back he barely fixed the rest and started painting them. He then made them shiny. I told him that's not what I asked for, he said he didn't hear me in the beginning. Also he didn't have any matte polish left. Ok fine whatever. I said shiny is fine then, I can't force him to make them matte if he doesn't even have it. Anyhow he finishes the set and at first glance they look ok. I was in a hurry and I left. When I got into my car and at closer inspection I realize how crooked and slanted to the side the nails truly were. The point of my nail should have been centered to the middle of my cuticle - not slanting to the left or right. Not only that, they were not skinny what so ever. I wanted them to be thinner. The only positive thing I can say is they were at least smooth and buffed well. Which he did a good job of. Now I can say from a distance they looked okay. But anyone who looked closer at them told me I shoulda gone somewhere else. I was upset, Vy usually always does a good job. So I thought I could go back in and ask him to file the side to shape them to be skinnier and make the point of my stilettos centered. He wasn't in so I thought to come back the next day after work. When I went in he had stepped out. I was told by his employee to come back later. I figured I'll just come back and talk to him about it. He's usually so nice, he'd take a look and just adjust the nails that weren't to my liking and he'd just fix the nails that were too wide. I get a message from him on Venmo, saying that there was nothing wrong with the nails, they were straight and smooth so he doesn't see an issue. Except there was, hence why I came back. And I told him that they're not centered but the color is fine. I can come in and show him. He didn't even want to take a look at them. I told him I f he doesn't want to take a look at them and doesn't want to fix them, just give me a refund and I can go someplace else. He ended up giving me a refund and sent a green pukey "" emoji attached to refund. Are you serious??? That's unprofessional, and immature and a very sure way to lose a loyal customer. It was not very good customer service on his part, especially considering he's done better. The lady I went to after definitely fixed the problem and she definitely saw the issue with the nails. The only place I go for my hands, feet, and eye lashes. Everyone there is great! IN-Growns If you have in-growns ask for V or Jenny they are experts in removing them. LASHES I recently got my lashes done by Nikki. Best lashes I ever got, she is a perfectionist. She does not rush threw the process my lashes last along time before a fill. I got huge amount of complements, everyone thinks their my own lashes . I Couldn't of asked for better lashes. read more

This is my second time going here and that says something. Environment is clean and well decorated. I am fully relaxed when here and my technician made sure I was. I got a manicure and pedicure. Prices are good and service is amazing. Very kind, and was always asking if I was comfortable. Message was fantastic and all tools were from sterile packaging. I'll be honest with ya, I don't normally get my nails done because it's pricey and a hassle to maintain. My nails usually grow out really fast. However, I wanted to look extra cute for my birthday and plus, my boyfriend said that he was going to treat me for my birthday month hehe. I did look up reviews of places ahead of time. I heard some say to ask for Vy. I had an idea of what I wanted, which was a natural pink and white ombre nails with some Swarovski dust crystals and some rhinestones. I really love the little crystals and how my nails came out. He really spent his time working on the nails and honestly, I felt like it was a decent price. It's definitely more affordable than if I were to get this set in San Francisco. But hey, that's all due to the cost of living! I love his friendly attitude and how it didn't seem like he was rushing at all! It was also painless. I have heard of many nail salons where the technician is super rough on the nails to the point where your skin starts bleeding. He also actually removed my cuticles, which some nail salons don't even do that. (They're supposed to, by the way) I just really can't stop looking at how shiny my nails are! I'm a sucker for glitter, crystals and just all things shiny! What's great about this color is that when your nails grow out, it can still somewhat blend in with your natural nails. (You won't be able to tell in pics.. unless it's a closeup). I do want to mention that he did apply fake nails. These are not my real nails and they are acrylic nails. It was a long process, but very well worth it! They were $65! I definitely recommend coming here and I would love to get my nails done here again. read more

This place is amazing. I called to make an appointment expecting to be told later in the day or the next, but they got me in right away and were done by the time my lunch was over. Vy did a fantastic job and didn't make me feel like he was rushing me out to take the next customer. What really impressed me, besides the amazing job he did, was that he flat out told me he didn't like the color I picked. Some people may have gotten offended but I took it as an honest opinion from someone who has been doing this a lot longer than I have been getting my nails done. So I asked him to choose a different one. Honestly, it is so much better than what I chose in the first place. I have gotten several compliments on the color. He also didn't pressure me into getting gel when I asked for regular since I like to change the color more often than I need a fill. I made an appointment for the next day to bring my daughter for pedicures. When we arrived, Vanessa greeted us like we've been coming there forever. Vy was unexpectedly out that day, so it was only her, but she took it in stride and did a great job. She did an amazing job on my toes and was fantastic with my daughter. The conversation was easy and flowed like we were old friends. She suggest not getting gel for my daughter since she picks the polish off and it can damage her nails and found a very similar color in regular that my daughter absolutely loves. I appreciate her honesty and her concern for my daughter's nails, even though it meant she was charging us less money. Came in for a pedicure and when I get I pedicure I look forward for a good foot massage with scrubs , hot wax and all the stuff the foot massage comes with ! And I did not get that ! She did not offer any of it , I was expecting her to use some sort of exfoliating scrub and nothing all I got was a 5 min foot rub with regular lotion that I could've had my husband do ! And with no foot rub it was still expensive $55 for just gel on my toes and no food rub not scrub it anything ! All bad never going again read more

Very nice setting - the decorations were really nice and I liked the benches in replacement of the spa chairs. They also had a good collection of colors and brands. They didn't have as many nail polish as some other salons, but I prefer that than having a huge collection of crappy colors.. It was just right. I didn't feel overwhelmed but they were all nice enough that I took about 5 minutes to decide. Quality, not quantity. My nail lady was really nice. She did a nice job aside from me having to file my own nails because she just could NOT see how uneven it was despite me telling her thrice. I wasn't mad nor did I mind filing it myself, it would just have been nice if she was able to do it herself. All together, 3 mani/pedis at $30 each in an hour and a half; this is the most I've ever paid for a basic mani/pedi (about $20 in la). It was a nice place, but I probably won't come back here again unless a friend really wants to come here. read more

They speak fluent english but didn't bother saying anything to us. Sat us down, did the pedicures, water was cold, service was bad. Seriously the best nail artist I've ever went to! Nikki is the nicest and most knowledgeable girl. It was nice to have a nail artist actually speak to you and not just her coworkers. I told her about my horror manicures at other places and she explained to me all the reasons they could've went wrong. It made me feel comfortable to know she knows how to avoid the mistakes. She is such a sweetheart and you can tell she truly loves her work and is passionate about learning and improving her technique. I wish my nails would've been a bit more squared but that's all about communication so next time I'll mention it. I was actually recommended to this place by my coworker and I am thankful for it! We called at 330, scheduled appt to arrive at four. The girls were both busy. When we arrived, they explained that they had only one person walk in but they had brought a friend and the friend wanted nails, too. We were fine with that. I was waiting with my grandmother to take her to get her nails done. My grandmother has Alzheimer's, so we sat and talked. They placed her feet in a pedicure sink while we waited. My grandmother was soaking her feet for about thirty to forty minutes before color application. They cleaned her feet very well and chatted with my grandmother. One girl apologized for the delay, explaining the situation. I was a bit nervous because again, my grandmother has Alzheimer's, so I didn't know if we were going to have to leave mid soak. The other girls getting their manicures done wanted those manicures, like Japanese style, with tons of gold pieces and baubles. So, they were given all the add ons. And those were very beautiful. I asked for a simple negative space Mani on natural nails, however the nail technician seemed hesitant that it could work, so instead she ushered me to get a full color with glitter on the tip. The complete opposite of what I wanted. At the last minute I was told that many of the colors were not available. They used a rotary tool to.file.my nails and used no cuticle remover to remove my.cuticles, thus one nail bed is extremely long compared to the other. I most likely will not go back. The staff was very friendly, but their methods and color choices were not for me. I may update with a two week photo, if possible. We did not leave until 545 pm. read more

Well today I had an appointment at 3 pm. I found a parking in front right away (THANK YOU JESUS) lol. It's a hit or miss with parking. I did however have to wait a bit because Vy was fixing another customer's nails. Not really a big deal because I had no where else to go after BUT still I had an appointment and He didn't start on me till about 3:30pm. Vy did my shellac mani but he forgot my massage. :( I forgot to mention it to him also.I'm sure he would've if I reminded him. Nikki did my chevron design and she was AWESOME! I went here w/the recommendation of Yelp & I was sadly disappointed! I made my appts, show up & the nail technician was not there. Vy the owner is calling her, she finally arrived & she had my appt confused, even though I was penciled in the appt book. I asked Katie to text me a reminder of my appt. She gladly said "yes", took my cell number & never texted me to confirm my appt :( Lastly I saw Vanessa for a regular pedicure & asked her to file my nails after the pedicure. She charged me $5 just to file my nails..no buffing or oils on my finger tips. I told her Katie never charged me to file my nails only was charged for the pedicure. You have to try their indulgent pedicure the 6 step aroma therapy pedi. Worth every penny ($50) yes it's pricey but so worth it! I treat myself to pedis there at $20 a pedi but at least twice a year I give myself this luxury pedi and my goodness it smells and feels wonderful. Hot rocks, hot towels, leg scrubs and lotions. The lavender pedi is a jelly pedi and feels and smells great, the chamomile pedi smells just as good both are so relaxing and the massage added with each step, ahh it's great. I have been to many nail places in Stockton, and this is by far the best. The interior is very cute, and it is conveniently located on miracle mile, a nice safe area in Stockton. Everyone that I have had do my nails here has been great, it is always a pleasant experience. One time my debit card was declining because it was demagnetized and it wasn't a big deal to Vy at all. I freaked out and said I could wait there while my grandma brought me cash, but he trusted me and told me to just bring the money whenever I could. It was very nice and understanding of him, so I went and picked up cash and brought it back to him right away. He is a very laid back and nice guy. Since then I have had nikki do my nails several times. She is a very sweet, and good company! At a lot of nail salons I have gone to before, I have just had short small talk conversations that feel forced and awkward. It is not like this with nikki! When I go get my nails done, we talk like we have been friends for years. She is also very talented and good at what she does! She always makes my nails look exactly how I want them. She is very good at giving her customers exactly what they want. To anyone in Stockton who is considering getting their nails done at Nail Lounge, I would highly recommend you do!!!
