I was also given a comprehensive breakdown of the entire process, including specific rules, especially when booking future appointments with European Wax Center. In this visit, I was served by Zoe. She was such an incredible wax specialist! We were both laughing and having a great time in our conversation. Because of this, it took less focus away from the waxing process itself. In essence, the entire waxing wasn't as painful as I anticipated. It definitely helped that I took Tylenol before the appointment, too. All in all, I had an extremely positive experience. I want to express my gratitude, especially to Zoe, for making it comfortable. I will definitely return here in the future.

I see my waxer (Rattana) in the hall and she ignores me and shuts her door. When I come back out the front desk tells me I can't be seen bc I'm past 9 minutes even though I was there before the 9 minutes. She told me there were no more apts for the rest of the day. I told her okay let me rebook on the app. They did have appointments ... so I rebooked for a hour later with a different waxer. When I come back she didn't check me in again or even acknowledge me. My prior waxer saw me again while I went to check out and ignored me again .. so weird considering the past 8 appointments she cried about her bf breaking up with her while she waxed me ..seems like they only care about themselves and not their clients. Then the front desk calls me to ask if I have any negative or positive feedback about my last apt.. umm that's awkward when it's the same front desk girl who completely lacked professionalism and good communication.. Why didn't they have someone else call? I made a formal complaint to corporate and never heard from anyone .. I'll never be back to this location.

I wish I could give johanna more than five stars, she is simply amazing at what she does and is very professional with a clean and aesthetic work place! She came to the waiting room area and greeted me with a welcoming hug and smile and seemed very happy to see me! It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax so I was nervous and didn't know who to go to, but I heard amazing things about Johanna and decided to book an appointment which was easy and fast to do. She showed me some breathing exercises to help ease the pain, and how to move my legs, what to expect etc. During the whole time she held a conversation with me and didn't make anything awkward which is great because I was so nervous.. she loves what she does and makes you feel very comfortable during the entire process. She's genuinely a sweet woman and cares for her clients! I have never had a service to where it was done so well AND the employee was super friendly. She told me ahead of time how to prepare for a Brazilian wax, and at the end she gave me instructions to follow and a take home sample of exfoliate and moisturizer! I am very pleased with how everything came out and my first experience with Johanna.. If I could give more stars, I would! Johanna's my new go to for Brazilians. You can tell right away that she's a very sweet and warm person and I love that about her. During my session, she gave me a lot of useful information and tips about aftercare. She shows you how to breathe when she pulls the wax off which was very calming. She also makes sure she didn't miss any hair and tweezes any ingrowns if needed. The tweezing part is actually more painful than the waxing part. I've been to European Wax Center for my first Brazilian and I would say the lady that waxed me over there did a good job. I didn't like how they pressure you into buying their wax passes or any of their aftercare products. Johanna did recommend some products to me but I never felt pressured into buying them. She gave me a free sample to see if I'd like it. I did some more research on the products and I think I will purchase one of them at my next visit. If you're deciding between EWC/any other wax places and The Wax Lady, definitely choose the Wax Lady! read more

I recently just moved to Stockton from the Bay Area & was looking for a new esthetician. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to find someone like my wax lady in the city, who I have faithfully went to for the past 8 years or so. I use to live in Tracy a couple years ago & still drove out to San Francisco to see her. Since this move was more permanent, I was nervous & anxious that I wouldn't find someone out here that could replace her. I checked on yelp & "The Wax Lady" popped up with great reviews. I used the previous reviews on YELP when deciding where to go for waxing my brows, lip, and chin. The reviewers have described Johanna and her environment accurately. Besides being very personable, I must remark that I found her to also be very engaging and reflective about life experiences. To paraphrase, she wisely noted that while some complain about the cost of getting an education, it pales in comparison to the cost of ignorance. How true. How true. And, as for the wax job: great results without much pain! I forgot to ask her, but I hope that she has or will consider offering a price break for repeat customers. Then I would be even more inclined to return! Keeping up with facial hair removal (whether through waxing or threading) can become a noticeable part of one's budget if done monthly. A financial incentive for those with regularly scheduled appointments would be a win-win situation! read more

Let me start off by saying Johanna IS THE BEST. She is extremely nice and welcoming. She keeps great conversation, which is great because you need that to take your mind off getting waxed down there. I felt extremely comfortable with her, and her work area is so clean. I found her on yelp because I'm new to the area and after seeing her amazing reviews I asked for the closest appointment available. I was able to be seen the following morning. I use to go the EWC in my area, but I'm so glad I decided to try somewhere new. Johanna is now my go to spot. I got the Brazilian Wax and I've never felt this smooth. Of course, with getting wax there is a little pain, but it's truly bearable with Johanna. She just makes it so easy, she's so efficient and she makes sure to get all the hairs! I am new to the area, so I looked on Yelp and found Johanna. Everyone seemed to have lovely things to say about her and her work. I booked and got an appointment right away. Johanna is a very welcoming and made me feel right at home. The space where she works has beautiful energy. You can feel it as soon as you walk in! Johanna has a great personality, and I was immediately relaxed. I can honestly say there was no pain involved (I had the full face wax). First off, Johanna is absolutely amazing! I've been going to her for a few months now and I do not have one single complaint. As soon as you see her, she's just bundle of joy and pure happiness. She's super comfortable to talk to about any questions you may have about your wax. She does breathing exercises with you as well as she's pulling the wax off, which helps a whole lot. So this was my first time getting a Brazilian and mind you I'm not very good with pain but Johanna was so sweet to me and calm that she put me to ease considering how nervous I was. She knew exactly what she was doing and explained to me how to do some breathing exercises to help with the process. Since my friend and I walked into the boutique she greeted us with a hug which immediately made me feel more comfortable with her. She was super gentle and quick, her wax formula is also very high end. I have thick and ALOT of hair and are very sensitive to mostly everything.
