First time to this fairly new salon. The pluses...new, clean, modern, inexpensive. The minuses... empty, no energy, my polish job is poor. The woman that took care of me was lovely but her skills are questionable. My nails (toenails) were not buffed properly and they are lumpy looking. Not cool. Will need to have this redone in a few days when I get time. THIS will prevent me from ever returning. The savings from my previous salon is meaningless now...as I have to pay all over again. An aside...it's over 90 degrees today. The ac was on but they insisted on keeping the door open making that useless. I mentioned it, and got a blank look. It had to be over 80 degrees in the salon. The nail techs are not consistent with the quality of their work. Sometimes it's ok and sometimes it's horrible. But worst of all is Micheal and his attitude and Nicole with the inconsistency of the quality of her manicures, do not go there. Don't waste your time or money. Nicole didn't even want to do the job. She complained about my choice of color and how this choice of color would stain her hands. Look closely and you can see the poor quality of work. The white on white French is what got here, the pink and white French is what I got where I normally go. I am incredibly disappointed with my recent experience at this salon and cannot recommend it. I went in hoping to get white on white French nails, inspired by the beautiful work I had seen done for my sister and cousin. However, what I received was far from acceptable. The shape was off, the nails were overly thick, and the French line was horrendous. It's clear that the salon lacks a consistent standard for nail execution, and Nicole might be the only nail technician that can do a good job. Just based on how the gel was applied, I knew that the technician I got didn't know what they were. The application was clumpy and overly layered, it did not match the base nail. Despite showing picture of how I expect my nails to look, I could not get what I wanted. When I tried to express my disappointment, the nail tech seemed upset. She called the manager and he kept saying they will do what I want but how much more can I explain. I told them just do what they know how to do and this is the crap I ended up with. I've been a loyal customer of Nail Plus in Rockville Centre since they opened three years ago. Up until now, I've been extremely satisfied with the service, especially from my nail tech, Nicole. She's simply the best--professional, talented, and always ensures I leave happy. I've even referred several people to this place because of how much I've enjoyed my experiences. However, my recent experience with the owner has left me deeply disappointed. I've had minor issues with him in the past, which I've overlooked because I'm not one to cause a scene. But today's encounter was the final straw. I called to make an appointment with Nicole, only to be informed that she's on vacation. When I asked if he could accommodate me in her absence, he shockingly responded that he didn't think he could do nails "good enough" for me. When I asked if he was serious, he doubled down and suggested I go somewhere else until Nicole returns. I've never been treated so rudely by someone in customer service, especially after being a loyal client for so long. It's clear that the owner lacks basic customer service skills, and I can no longer support a business where the owner behaves this way. I'll be finding a new nail salon--indefinitely. read more

A tip is options it isnt mandatory and I shouldn't feel obligated to do it, I tipped the lady who did my wax but becuase I didn't tip him he proceeded to stop me at the door and ask for his tip . When I went in for a nail appointment a little early with my 96 year old mother and asked for a customer chair with wheels The owner proceeded to yell at me for being early even though all the girls were standing around. This is not the first time I have heard him yell at customers. He finally, after yelling for 5 minutes took my mom. But made me wait for the 15 minutes even though the girl who did my pedicure was just standing around. This made my mom wait an additional 15 minutes. I have heard him yelling at other customers when they don't ask him permission to add a treatment but ask the girl working on them. I came in for a pedicure on a Thursday morning (I did not make an appointment) and was seated fairly quickly (I waited about 10 minutes). The nail tech did a wonderful job. The salon is very large. It was clean and the staff is friendly. They have a nice selection of nail polish colors. The nail drying station is small for the amount of pedicure chairs and manicure stations they have. I've visited Nails Plus in RVC three times now and it was always with a hope that the visit would be better each time. The place is beautiful and clean, very quiet and relaxing too but I've just had a less preferred experience with the staff each time. I have received pushback any time I am not looking to get a gel manicure or just looking to have a "clean up" and leave my nails bare. I don't know if it is because a regular manicure is not worth their time but I would imagine "business and business" and all customers are given the same quality of service and treated equally regardless of the services requested.. including a judge-free tone and attitude. The less than average job on a regular manicure and pedicure did not make up for the judgy, full of attitude tone. This place is great. I have been looking for a great nail place since I moved to the area and I think Ive found it. I got a gel pedicure and a full set. What I loved so much about this place was the transparency. Too often you go into a nail salon and get up sold or asked if you want special treatments but price is never discussed. At nail plus, there were no surprises. I also loved how my nail tech, Ruby, asked me many times throughout the services to make sure I liked the shape of my nails. She did everything perfectly. The shop is large, clean, well lit and offers a wide selection of colors and nail services. This establishment is nice looking on the outside ,but the customer service lowers the value of this place immensely. They are extremely rude and do not give you what you ask for. I feel like i got scammed because as they were doing my nails the price kept increasing incredibly. My friend wanted to get regular acrylics with a little design which would normally be 50 dollars but at this place it's 80 that's without their "15 percent discount." With the discount it's 68 for just regular and if you want any little and i mean little design they charge you 25 extra dollars. That to me is already insane ,but what really topped this whole experience off is that when the man employee was doing my friend's nails, he left her not once but twice to answer the phone to book more clients when there are only five people working in all already doing people and no one is there to answer the phone. He had her sitting there for some time and then left doing her nails to start someone new. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and new customers coming in where there was no space to fit them into the schedule were given a rude attitude to leave. Lastly, this man had told my friend that he isn't going to cut her nail until she says yes for her desired length and then when she had said exactly where she wanted it he said no. HELLO HE SAID NO TO WHAT SHE WANTED THEN WHAT EXACTLY WAD THE POINT OF US COMING IF WE ARENT GOING TO GET WHAT ARE PAYING FOR and on top of that he argued with her saying it's her fault the nail is short. Let me start by saying that I never ever do this. I don't write reviews and I don't ever want to bring down a business, but this place? The worst nail salon I've ever went to. If I could give it a 0 star review, I would. They are beyond unprofessional! The guy who was doing my nails left me 5 TIMES to go pick up the phone and answer other people, then he ended up leaving me to go do another person nails while mine aren't done.. he was rude to other customers and told them to leave because there's customers already here and when I asked for long nails he said ok and when I told him I want it longer he refused and said no. which made no sense because it's my nails it's how I want it not him. Not to mention my nails are always $50 AT MOST but here it's $80?!?!? For some short 1 week lasting nails... the disrespect and unprofessionalism I've dealt with is the main issue here.
