Located in an unassuming strip mall, this salon is a true gem!!! I live in buckhead and usually go to the salon down the street from me but my friend who is a huge nail snob told me to try this spot. I have been going here the past couple of months and have been impressed every time!! They have a huge selection of SNS and a talented staff who all seem to have a great eye for detail and have consistently shaped my nails perfectly! I go 2 weeks in between appointments and by that time they normally start lifting up around the cuticles allowing my hair to get caught up in them- it's super annoying and not cute.. My manicure was SUPER rushed and honestly looks like I had just done the 100 layer nail polish challenge. I'm bummed, I really wanted to love this place! I've been in Georgia for about a month, I had my nails done at another salon near by that was awesome but wasn't happy with the 2.5 hours it took to complete a gel mani/pedi so I searched for another salon and came across this one- the reviews were great so I was excited to check it out! I came in at 10:05 as I wasn't able to make an appt yesterday by phone. I explained I wanted a gel manicure and fill and a regular pedicure. First I asked for the design pictured, the woman with a short hair cut, I assume the owner/manager(?) told me to pick the colors for it and she would "try".. So she begins on my nails while another woman with glasses and a bob cut, very sweet woman (honestly the only reason I'm rating the place 2 stars!) begins on my pedicure. Shortly after a man comes in and I'm told he would take over. Didn't ask me any questions about shape or literally anything, not even to see the design I had wanted. Wasn't happy when I asked if he could make my nails shorter! He didn't push my cuticles back or trim them, literally filed the top of my nail down and began to apply acrylic immediately I had to ask the original woman to clean up my cuticles and edges because there was gel polish on my hands and they weren't filed correctly! I'm so, so sad about it. They seemed to have regulars which is awesome but honestly I think I'll take the 2.5 hour process over bubble nails! read more

Very friendly however quality of work has been subpar. I will not be revisiting this nail salon. My nails were done with SNS Monday March 8, 2021 and looked great when I left. By Thursday March 4 the SNS began to chip. Saturday March 6 I went back up there to get the nails fixed. Jennifer asked me to come back when they weren't busy to fix them. I returned the next day Sunday and she filed the nails down to hide the chipping and covered with Gel polish. As of Tuesday March 9th the SNS is chipping again. These nails did not last a week. I am highly disappointed and a wasted my money. read more

I'm no girly-girl. I can tell you that now. So, me getting a mani or pedi seems pretty ridiculous, but I've done it. My mother-in-law loves getting her toes done, but is VERY particular about things. So, she searched for a very long time to find a place that: a)cleaned their supplies and establishment to her satisfaction, b)had good customer service, c)had comfortable chairs, d)didn't charge an arm and a leg, and e)didn't yammer on and on to their friends in a foreign language. You just KNOW that they're talking about you! Once she found the place, she had me tag along. I've been here a handful of times now, getting both mani's and pedi's and both at the same time. here's as far as I can figure: They sanitize everything from the nail files and scissors to the chairs and foot bath's. They are very polite, and always ask before they do something if it will cost more, and tell you how much it will be. (Like doing the spa leg massage, or details on the nails.) Their chairs for the pedicure station are squishy with good support and massaging with lot of controlled settings you can change. Their prices are posted in plain view, and they will tell you if something will cost more -- and sometimes will do discounts if you're getting several things done. And while they will, every once in awhile, say a few words to each other in their native tongue, it's generally about business (cleaning or tipping or where something was left), and then they go back to talk to you. As well as nails, they also do waxing and have tanning beds too. I've never done the waxing or tanning -- but the other girls in there do. And they seem very pleased with their experience. The only reason I had to knock off one star is because of my most recent visit. I had finally convinced my husband to go get a manicure with me, after M-O-N-T-H-S of harassing him about it. When we sat down they gave him a new girl. Male mani's aren't that difficult. You trim back the cuticles, cut the nails, buff it up to shine and maybe massage the hand a bit. No big deal. New Girl ended up cutting open his finger pretty badly and well... needless to say - he won't be going back. However -- on the bright side, it didn't get infected, in healed up quickly and there's not even a mark now. read more

This is the place I like to go. As the name implies, they offer manicures, pedicures and tanning, but they also wax. They always do a really good job and I've not had a problem with them yet. A sample of prices posted on their wall: Spa pedicure (the one with the cool chair) $18; Full set of pink and white $35; Manicure/Pedicure $22; Nail removals $10; American/French Manicure $3; Polish change $5-$7. Today we went and my daughter got a French manicure with her brows waxed, all for $30. Not sure how that coincides with the above pricing (this one is less), but I'm not complaining. :P He said something about it being a package. My sister and two other friends of mine are nail technicians. Interestingly, none of them EVER get a manicure or pedicure because they say they've worked at one and they know it is not clean. "People take shortcuts," one of them has warned me. Well I can say that this place, I believe, is different. The tools they use come out of a solution that I can see with my own eyes. This tells me something. Hopefully it's not just water with a dye in it. :P In any case, I'm pleased with the services they offer as well as their prices. I'm giving them 5 stars because I've never had to wait more than five minutes, I've never ever been displeased with the job they've done, they always give me a great long lasting massage (which I've not gotten at other places) and I'm just a happy returning customer. read more

I loved reading all the great reviews so I decided to check it out even though I hadn't done my nails in years. Nice place, they explained a cool upgrade to gel nails that last longer and I said ok. I asked how much it would all be and a regular mani/pedi would be $26 but I walked out paying $94 without tip. Now, I did add a bikini wax for $50 which I'll get to next but how did the rest of it get so much? They didn't really explain it to me they were just ready to swipe my card. THEN they had no tip blank on the reciept and they got annoyed with ME when I wanted to add tip to my card. Then they asked flat out how much it would be in front of my nail technicians....I gave 15% and they looked even more annoyed.... Anyways, my waxing was in this dungeon of a room with a towel on a table that she just flipped over to the other side when I had to lay on it....is that sanitary?? There were big mirrors in there and no decorations, just peeling paint and an old smell. Then when she was done and I looked down there was still hair there! She said to just shave it.........WAHT?! I looked like a red dotty stubby bikini area. I wish I had just shaved from the beginning. When I had my manicure she didn't push down my cuticles!!! So my manicure that I paid extra for barely lasted a week before I had huge gaps from where she stopped painting at the bottom. I could have gotten a lot more wear out of them....the promisesd two weeks....if she had payedd any attention to my cuticles. Pedicure- great. Great chair and it felt great getting them softer finally. The one thing that was so nice of them was I started shaking because I had forgotten to eat lunch and they fed me candy and bottled water!! I was the only one in the salon and they kept coming up to me asking if I was feeling better. They really didn't have to do that but I really appreciated that. I wish that everything had been perfect to give them more stars but at least they have kind hearts. read more

Terrible terrible terrible. I will never go back to this place. I have been to quite a few mail salons in this area and even though I haven't been thrilled with any of them. This salon is by far the worst. My pedicure was terrible. The woman cut me, made me bleed, split my toe nail and when I called back to see if I could come in and have my pedicure redone they blew me off. If you need a basic manicure then go there but I would not suggest any other service. When I find the perfect salon in the area I will be sure to write a review read more

EDIT: Was already upset with the service I received then my friend called to tell me 6 of her nails came off within a week of having the set put on and she has an infected nail because of this salon. Her nail is oozing and it is disgusting. The owner declined to refund her even though he messed up her nails and clearly used dirty tools! We are now filing a complaint with the health department too. Zero stars if I could. I have been going here for years and bring new clients/friends with me regularly but my last visit left a lot to be desired. The customer service and quality of the services has gone down tremendously. I received a mediocre pedicure despite paying for the hot stone massage pedicure. She rubbed my legs with hot stones for maybe a minute and rushed through the pedicure. I also had my nails filled, gel applied, and two jewels added. She applied only two coats of black and it was still somewhat transparent. She had trouble applying the jewel bows and attempted to stick them on with clear nail polish then ended up super gluing them. They popped off within 4 hours. When I returned the next day they fixed them. However, when I asked to purchase 2 if the little bows for if they popped off while I was out of town the owner said it would be 5$ - for two tiny plastic pieces that they pay pennies for. I declined the crappy offer and said I could get them fixed at a different salon for that price. The facility is decent-looking and the girls were very nice. However, I walked in for a mani-pedi and ended up paying more than expected; my pedicure was $8 extra JUST to get the callus-remover treatment on my feet (the basic pedicure only includes soaking, cuticles and painting). I got the worst SNS gel manicure I've ever had at this salon--it was bulky and clumpy-looking. This is the only nail salon I've ever gone to where the technician was so rough that my cuticles burned when I had to put my hands under the curing lamp (which I don't understand why it was needed for SNS gel anyway). I removed the gel after only three days because my nails hurt, and they are still sensitive now (a couple weeks later). read more

I really liked this place. I've become addicted to my acrylics, so that's the breadth of experience I can comment on. Prices are posted though a little higher than posted by Magnolia ( who reviewed a year ago); I paid $55 for a full set of pink and white, but that included the UV gloss on the top which makes them last longer and look better. I was a walk-in at 10:30 on a Saturday morning, my first visit. They had a full house, but I only had to wait ten minutes at the max. The place is bright with a row of about 10 of those massage chairs, another 6 stations, a few flat-screen tvs and a drying station, with lights for hands and feet. Sure, there's an acetone smell, like any salon, but it's mixed with the incense burning at one of the shrines, and it isn't overpowering so you get used to it pretty quickly. (Disclosure: I'm one of those people who likes the smell of gasoline and spray paint, so take my appraisal with a chunk o salt.) There's a nice attitude (from my one experience) that runs through the whole place. I got the impression that even though I was just another paying customer, they were still glad to see me walk in, no one barked "What you want?" and scowled because they were busy (don't hate; that's how it sounds at most places!) I also saw a few women who apparently were regulars b/c when they came in, they got an individual hello from some of the other employees. Regulars = good sign. (I was scouting the place out myself) Credit cards accepted but NO Amex, or there's an additional service fee for Amex, the two signs were conflicting and I was kinda confused. They will let you add the tip to the total, but it's discouraged, as is stated very nicely on notices around the store, so bring cash if possible. I didn't have a chance to go to the bank and didn't have one nearby, so I had to charge my tip but no one gave me an attitude, just nodded and smiled when I apologized for using the card for the whole thing. They sell flip-flops at the register for $10 along with nail polish and I think some jewelry, don't remember that well. The place is run by a bunch of vietnamese women (and one or two guys) who, of course, banter back and forth in vietnamese but all of the employees that I saw spoke english reasonably well and were conversational with their customers. I watched as two american women got pedicures and were chatting away with their attendents about their little boys, all four had kiddos under the age of three, and were swapping stories. Something else that I thought was cool -- at one point, I glanced at my wallet and murmurred something about how I'd forgotten my phone in the car and needed to call my boyfriend about plans that night. The lady who was doing my nails immediately pulled out her cell and offered to let me use it. No need, but a very kind gesture. She also apologised when she had to pause for a minute to take a call on the store phone or direct other employees, as her table was nearest the door and she was obviously in charge. Call me cheap, but for me, this is as good as it gets. It isn't Spa Sydell, but if you're like me and you want plain and simple done right, this is the place. Besides, Spa Sydell makes me feel overly yuppie, but at this place and these prices, I can get my nails done and not skimp on the tip.
