What a start to my St Patrick's birthday... it was a last minute decision to include my entire family for pedicures. Very accommodating and friendly over the phone and to take us in within an hour of opening. You come in and immediately greeted with beautiful, smiling faces. Very relaxed and chill vibe, and different (in a very good way) experience from your typical nail spa salon. Hubby also decided on a massage and was jelly after the massage was done. Prices was very reasonable and worth it considering how respectful & professional they were. Foot massages were on-point and aches disappeared. At the end of it all, it felt like family. I was looking to treat myself on my last day in Hawaii and happened to stumble upon this place through Yelp. So glad I came here! Mai was my nail technician and she was so gentle with my nails and was very friendly. I asked for a cat eye nail with some gemstones and she knew exactly what I wanted. While I haven't been to Japan yet, I think Hawaii is the next best place to get your nails done if you're looking to get a true Japanese style gel manicure! The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was here at Nail Salon Ai the moment I stepped into the salon. Literally 10/10 the best service I've gotten at any nail salon. 100% of their products are from Japan and they seemed to have a bunch of new colors which was nice. They are located in their own room/studio within the building next to Louis Vuitton, so if you're looking for a private, high quality nail salon, I'd recommend coming here. As far as pricing goes, it is a bit expensive compared to where I'm from (San Diego) but I think it's worth every penny. I do like that they have a clear pricing list on their website (you can also search their Instagram for it too). Pricey but what isn't in Hawaii plus this was very personalized service. Maki was my tech, she was so nice and welcoming. Very good at the foot massage. Agh so I work in the restaurant industry and in a super busy part of Waikiki. Yuki did my nails and they were amazing! I wanted Japanese gel since my hands are constantly making cocktails and I needed to protect my nails from damage (they were getting a bit thin and fragile with regular polish). I hadn't gotten my nails done in a while, so I was going to wait a month until refilling them. Only three slightly came off, and this is after three and a half weeks! It's a bit expensive, I don't think they do Kama'aina. Regular one color Japanese gel nails + CAT EYE color is $90 (no toxins, last longer, or so it has been recommended to me by many people), but regular one color gel is $70 (which I will be getting from now on because I just need this to protect my nails, not make them look pretty lol). Everyone here is super nice and Yuki was super thorough but also quick! Definitely recommend! read more

Called in and was able to make an appointment immediately. They even waited for me even though I was late and reserved one of the spa chairs since I wanted a mani/pedi. I had 2 technicians working simultaneously on my mani/pedi so it was nice that the appointment didn't run as long as it usually does when you get each service done one by one. The place is located inside the hotel on the 3rd floor in the Waikiki Tower. No hotel card needed to get in the elevator. Everyone was super friendly. I even added the paraffin treatment to my pedicure and it was amazing. The massage was relaxing and my skin was super soft and smooth afterwards. The only reason why I docked a star was because I had asked for a short coffin shape for my mani, but she didn't get the shape exactly as the picture I showed her but at least the nail polish coats were on point. I was so so pleased with the entire experience! Came to Waikiki for a friend's wedding, and my nails were not party ready. Thankfully, Nail Salon Ai had an opening for a gel manicure with design the day before the wedding, so I booked it via text, which was so convenient. Their communication is excellent, providing me with videos to help me find their business. I had no trouble finding the place! Everyone there was so kind and welcoming. The space is very intimate and cute, I liked that it felt private and peaceful, and not so crowded and overwhelming. I was so impressed with the teamwork among the three ladies, and how they efficiently made use of their time therefore also my time. Initially, I wasn't booked for a gel pedicure because at the time of scheduling there wasn't an available appointment, but they squeezed in a little more time for me, and simultaneously worked on my mani and pedi, which I am so so grateful for. My head nail artist was attentive to every little detail of my design, and took into consideration all of my requests such as wanting a mermaid vibe, Japanese gel color, etc. She checked in with me throughout the process to see if I wanted to fix anything, but the entire time, I was speechless by how amazing each stroke and design placement was, and how beautiful she made my own natural nails look without extensions (!!), I didn't need to provide any correction or feedback. She even checked my nail curve from the side at the end so it's smooth and natural looking, and not ridged or overfilled. Overall, these are hands down the best mani and pedi I've ever had! There's a little sink outside the store to wash your hands clean. Went here after searching on Google and yelp, thought quality would be worth the extra $$$ however, while she's super nice and friendly her skills are just not there. She didn't help clean my cuticles or deadskins per normal, it took almost 2hours for a normal manicure - partly becoz she layered just way too much the polish (I can literally see from the edge its like 2mm) and the quality of the polish is just so so. I should have asked but decided not too, sitting for too long I was a bit impatient and started to tap a bit to see if it's okay. Of coz it messed jt up... I was apologetic so as she.
