If you are looking to be pampered in a five star setting then this is absolutely the spa for you. From the moment you arrive at the front desk , you quickly realize that this place is special. Lisa was very friendly and made the check in process fast and efficient. I was escorted to a quiet seating area to wait for my appointment to begin and enjoyed a delicious glass of iced tea served with an optional paper straw and accompanied by a beautiful orchid. It was nice to take a moment to center my thoughts before my appointment started and I appreciated the gorgeous view that looked out over the perfectly manicured grounds at this five star resort. I scheduled the Halekulani Supreme mani/pedi and it was beyond any expectations I had! Just imagine closing your eyes and relaxing for three hours in a zero gravity chair with a soft blanket and calming instrumental music softly playing. It allows you to drift away into a serene state of mind and let go of the stress of the day. With this treatment option you will experience a fantastic manicure and pedicure that includes warm parafin gloves wrapped in weighted lavender scented mittens. As you drift into complete relaxation you will be so happy that you chose to visit Spa Halekulani. Don't forget to purchase a bottle of their famous Manoa Mint relaxation spray to take home! It has the most wonderful scent and I now spray it in my room before bedtime and it helps me relax every evening. Kristen does an amazing job of relaxing your mind and senses while she focuses on bringing your tired hands and feet back to life that will result in soft supple skin and beautifully painted nails. It's an exceptional spa to spend the day or to spend a couple of hours at your leisure.

Bathroom with a boudoir toilet! I was pleasantly surprised by the warm seat!

I was lucky enough to be treated to be treated here from the WWP for an early Mother's Day retreat. I dropped my car off at the valet and went in to check in. Once checked in they sat me outside and offered me a cold beverage. I hung out there until my massage therapist, Sofiya, was ready for me. My massage started on a private lanai area where she wrapped my feet in warm towels and lightly massaged them and "energized" my feet with coconut leaf stems made from the leaves of the coconut trees on the property. She then walked me over to the massage rooms and allowed me to relieve myself before getting my massage. They have those fancy boudoir toilets with the warmed seats which was a pleasant surprise on my tush. She asked if there was any spots that she wanted me to concentrate on and how much pressure to use. She showed me the amenities, like shaving creams and fresh razor, scope mouthwash, and deodorant to name a few. She told me to undress down to either my underware or bare, whichever I prefer, and get on the table. The table was warmed, but just a little too much for my comfort. Some places will massage your scalp, so I left my hair down. Apparently it was not offered in the full body massage so if you have long hair like me, make sure to put it up prior to your massage. Sofiya was great. She used the right amount of pressure and everything but by the end of my massage I was left wanting. I've had massages at several other places on the island, but for some reason I am always left missing something unless I go to my spot in Waipahu. Something about all the spots on my body that they work on or something that makes my massage feel complete when I get a massage at my spot in Waipahu. The WWP ordered an add-on service of moisturizing my hands or feet. I thought it meant a little more time of massaging so I chose feet. Nope. It felt like she put some lotion on there and then let it sit for a min while she got a warm towel to wipe it off so I wouldn't have slippery feet after the massage. After my massage, she sprayed the Halekulani's signature scent of maile throughout the room. It was nice... wish I had that spray for my house. I was actually glad that they gave a brush as part of the amenity items as my hair was crazy after my massage. I took the mini Scope home because... why not? I got dressed and they took me back out to the waiting area. I was told to help myself to the water bottles, teas, fruits, and nuts that they had in their inside waiting area. They came by and offered me some of their signature Halekulani tea (think its like maile infused or something). The tea was light, a little sweet, and definitely refreshing. They also brought by a little mochi ice cream. I thought it was just those chocolate mocha balls that you can buy in the store, but it tasted like a rich kona coffee ice cream on the inside and the outside mocha was thin and very fresh tasting. I wish I could buy more. All in all, a good experience. I'm not sure I would come back here though if I was paying out of my own pocket. I prefer the Moana Lani Spa at the Moana Surfrider though if I'm going to pay a lot of money for a massage. At least there I can have access to their other spa services before and after my massage.

Pumpkin Mochi ice cream with green ice tea after our massage was surprisingly delicious

We made a last minute lomi lomi massage over Thanksgiving weekend . We visited the spa and made arrangements in person. The front desk personnel were all friendly despite being busy. They called to remind and confirm our massages the following day. We arrived in a hurry but soon we felt relaxed , serving us tea and having us sit on the patio while they prepare our rooms. Both masseuse were excellent, knowledgeable and very accommodating working on your specific massage needs. We felt so calm and relaxed. Perfect massage during our vacation in Hawaii.

    Feeling relaxed already ...

As soon as you check in for your appointment, there are forms you will have to complete and while you do that, you are provided with a warm face towel and soothe the nerves and to begin your relaxation treatment. The staff member that greeted me was very warm and welcoming. You are offered a luxurious robe and slippers to wear during the entirety of your spa treatment. Prior to entering your treatment room, they ask you to wait in a beautifully curated and super cute room with a water dispenser and mixed nuts for you to enjoy while you wait. It was a whole vibe with low lighting , modern touches and such comfortable lounge chairs. Donna was the female who served me. She seemed very knowledgeable about how to better care for my skin and was thorough with each step she took. After your treatment, you have the option to take a nice, warm bath in their state of the art, delta showers and help yourself to the products in the bathroom. I can't wait to visit again :)

I had a wonderful massage experience at Uilani Spa from the moment I walked in. Everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. I was greeted with a refreshing hot towel for my hands and given a consent form to complete. Then I was escorted to the women's locker room with a bathrobe and slippers, where i changed and stored my belongings in a complimentary locker. Afterwards, I relaxed in a quiet, dimly lit lounge until my massage therapist, Yumiko, retrieved me. She expertly honed in on my problem areas before she began working on me. My shoulders were very tight and in pain while she worked on them. I heard my spine pop a few times. It's that moment of "Ahh..." when the pockets of tension you didn't know about are released and you wonder how much you were low grade suffering in daily life without realizing. I signed up for the lomi lomi massage, which I've never had before. I'm not sure if the hot towel treatment is part of every massage they do here but it's a nice touch that helps undo the knots. It's like Uilani thought of every little thing to help you relax beyond the massage itself. The massage cot can be adjusted to a seated position, which is how my massage ended. It's like they're easing you back into being vertical again. The experience continues: You go back to the lounge where you sip iced tea and eat a small crunchy snack before you leisurely make your way back to the locker room for a hot shower. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, a blow dryer, Q-tips... all provided for you. You're not rushed to pay and get out. This place is about 50% more than another place where i had a one year membership, but all the little touches they use to enhance your relaxation and enjoyment make the experience so relaxing. You didn't just get a massage, you got a full relaxing experience.

We had the Platinum Body Scrub (#5), and one had the facials only. My technician was Mina. She performed my service package. At other spas I've been to, different people performed different tasks in the spa package. Mina was excellent at everything, from scrubs and massages to facials. She was professional, friendly, and thorough with her work. She also provided instructions after each item session (my package included facility use, scrub, massage, and facials). I got to the facility ~30 mins before my appointment. An employee walked me through the facility and provided instructions. I used the hot tub and plunge pool before the scrub. After my session was done with Mina, I had lunch with friends. After that, I used the dry and charcoal rooms. The business was clean and organized. They had lockers for us to store our things in. The posted signs on the wall were a little confusing, but you can always ask the staff if you are unclear. They were friendly. In the beginning, I was a little nervous about booking for my group after reading the negative reviews and responses, as I wanted the day to go smoothly since we were there to celebrate birthdays. Anyway, I'm glad it went well :).

For me, I expect more if I'm paying a total of $187 for a 60-minute massage. FACILITY: There's a utilitarian wet sauna (e.g., no aromatherapy), dry sauna, and hot & cold pools inside; a small lounge area is outside with what appears to be a jacuzzi. I say "appears" because I just happened to notice the jets. There was no sign identifying it or explaining how to turn it on. The wet sauna was off and there was no sign explaining how to turn that on, either. PERSONAL AMENITIES: You're given a nice robe and one towel. I was only told to bring a bathing suit, so I was expecting disposal spa slippers. Nope. I had to walk everywhere barefooted, including the locker area where people (naturally) had walked in their outside shoes. Ugh. You could pick up a small tube of hand/body lotion, a small shaving kit (disposable razor & tube of generic shaving cream) and/or a small vanity kit (tiny nail file, cotton swabs & cotton pad) at the sinks. There were no snacks or even drinking water available unless you had a massage -- then you were given a bottle of water when it was over. MASSAGE: This is the first time I thought to myself, while getting a massage, "This woman could easily kill me with her bare hands!" Her hands were that strong. She'd asked me if I wanted my massage "hard" or "soft," and I replied, "medium, and we'll see how that goes." Well, it went very painfully at times -- I had to tell her repeatedly to go softer. It's a week later and my shoulders still hurt with certain movements. SERVICE: The receptionist (the only person always onsite; the masseusses and such are called in when needed) was not very gracious when I asked her how to turn on the wet sauna and only reluctantly went back and did it ... so I didn't bother to request her help to use the jacuzzi. Clear communication, in general, was lacking. For one, I was told on the phone that a bathing suit was necessary for the saunas, but once I got there, was told I could choose to just wear a towel. I've read the other reviews, and I see that they offer a kamaaina discount. No one told me that, even though I said at multiple points (on the phone and onsite) that I lived in the neighborhood. BOTTOM LINE: I'll try some other day spa next time I want to pamper myself.
