I went to tip nail shop to get a pedicure and manicure. I requested nail technician name Cindy. Two individuals came after me, Cindy took them first and then proceeded to talk about me to a customer. Cindy is unprofessional. My thought was to curse her ass out but the pencil is mightier than the sword. I would not recommend any black woman to patronize this nail shop. read more

Just dont go! Well, dont go if you care about salon sanitation and dont want to waste $50-100 on sloppy work. For goodness sake, as I was leaving I saw them use a funnel and recycle all the acetone from their clients from the day. They poured the acetone from bowls into a jar - the same bottle that was used during my services. It's pitiful! 1 Anyway, about the details. I usually don't leave a bad review, however, I would NEVER EVER go here again. I paid $50 for a horrible pedicure. I say horrible because my toe nails were shaped different from one another, the polish was not evenly nor neatly distributed on the toenails and I had to go home and file my toe nails to make them look decent. I paid $25 for a manicure which I did not get any polish not even a clear coat and once again, my nails were not shaped/filed neatly. NEVER AGAIN!! Too over priced and VERY POOR work. Went to this shop since I moved to PG almost 18 years ago. Which in hindsight, was about 15 years too long. That was back in the good old days when Tracy still did nails and they valued repeat customers. They even closed down for me half a day the day before my wedding so all of my wedding party could come in and be serviced at the same time. But that was eons ago when customer service was important. Over the years I've watched as the salon has gone down hill and the prices have steadily increased. Yes, they've added this or that, really kicked up their lash game, were one of the first in the area to invest in every colored powder imaginable and spruced up with a few new sconces and upgrades a few years back. But at the end of the day if you don't VALUE your customer, you aren't a very smart business man. Now Don's rude a$$ thinks because he's playing R & B music and he's been around African Americans long enough that he can just say anything out of his mouth, they all conveniently forget how many people they really have waiting when you ask ("oh she was in the back getting pedicure first" is my favorite) and the best is when they start your nails and then think it's ok to stop to wax someone else's eyebrows or do lashes because you're already mid-service. No one in the salon does a decent pedicure anymore either. Helen and the other older lady just need to retire. And one of the guys works over at Mindy and Anne's (Paul's Nails - 4907 Allentown Road, Suitland MD 20746) on his days off and spills all the tea, so clearly there's even internal discord. This place is the worst! And on top of that ... it's filthy. Not dirty. Not needs a little tidying. FILTHY! The next time you're in there, watch carefully and see how infrequently ANY OF THEM ACTUALLY WASH THEIR HANDS BETWEEN CLIENTS ... particularly those of you getting lashes with WEAVE GLUE! Not run some water over them ... WASH with soap and water. Not a one, unless you ask them to. Can we say pink eye and bacterial conjunctivitis, boys and girls? I gave it a shot off and on for far too long and only because NO ONE does my nails like Kim. But Kim has FINALLY left (she's now at Elegance Nails - 5756 Silver Hill Road, District Heights MD 20747). Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus! But if you call the shop or stop in, they'll tell you she's on vacation and "someone else can do fo you." Ain't that a blip? Kissing Tip Nails and the BS behind. A convenient location can no longer be my excuse. Kim is gone so there's no need to tolerate the blatant unappreciation they have for long-time customers and a filthy shop on top of that any longer. Loveeeeeeee Cindy! I'm very heavy handed and picky about the shape of my nails. She does amazing work I can go a month in between fills! She gets all my baby hairs when waxing ! loveeeeeee! I've had nails, brows and lashes done here and I like their work/end result. The road to the result is enough to make you pop an advil. The wait for even the simplest task is epic (they do good work so they have a large clientele) and the customer service is lacking. Their idea of keeping an appointment is "starting" you by putting you in the pedicure chair so you can sit for hours in cold water while they fit other folks in during your time. They will eat, have conversation, etc all while they are supposed to be servicing you. If you need the the service done and don't mind the unprofessional staff, utter lack of customer service and long wait while they "fit someone in" that clearly didn't have an appointment (harken back to hair salon hours spent under a dryer) then I say try it out. You will be happy with the result even if you had to spend a whole day frustrated, instead of pampered, because your time wasn't respected. BTW, with all the money they charge, they don't allow tips on credit cards because they dont want the processing fee. How rude to your staff!!!! They did however invest in having a $2.00 fee ATM installed in the middle of the eyelash area so that YOU the customer who just paid them $100+ bucks for poor customer service to incur the processing fee of withdrawing money to provide a cash tip. How rude to the customer!! They do give you a smiling apology for the inconvenience as they proudly point to the machine. #WhereDeyDoDatAt?? Here's a tip, don't apologize to me, apologize to your staff. They are the ones who won't get a tip. I'm not paying a fee for the "privelege" of giving you more money in the form of a tip. If the processing fees aren't worth the credit card tip to you(the one who benefits) then you better believe I will follow your lead and make the atm fee not worth providing a cash tip to me. read more

I have mixed reviews about Tip... The mall strip where the nail shop is located is not THE most appealing; however, they have a couple nail techs (Tina & Tracy) in the shop who can do quality work! I've noticed they several different techniques than other places. They do lashes, brows, and of course, gel overlay, manicures, pedicures, etc., but I must admit it does not appear to be completely sanitary. The entire shop could be ALOT more cleaner and well kept... Until I find a 5-star hook-up, I will continue to be a faithful patron. read more

First of all, I came to get my nails done because a coworker recommended them and they tried to charge me $75 just because I wanted ombré!!! The nail tech tried to say oh I'll do it for you for $60. Negative. On the pamphlet it says $45 for gel so i ended up getting a simple color instead. I got my eyebrows done after and the lady left all the hair from the trimmings on my face, and my eyebrows weren't even tweezed all the way. She left a lot of hair to the point I had to keep correcting her. Then I asked for some alcohol to wipe the excess hairs away. But ummmm shouldn't you be doing this?!? My nails do look nice but I could've went somewhere else for way cheaper. They didn't do anything spectacular. Won't ever come back again. read more

this salon is the best one in MD because It is so convenient to finish everything here, eyebrow, pedicure, fullset, eyelash. I would recommend to LINDA who is my favorite girl technician. She know how to tell you what to do and even what kind of design is perfect for your nails. However, the price is expensive to me. read more

Sorry I didnt even want to give this salon ANY stars. I was recently told to try out this salon located in District Heights, MD because I loved the young woman's nails when I saw her and asked her the name and location of the place where she had gotten them done. BIG NO NO when I got there. Can we say disgusting? My boyfriend was totally turned off and I was embarassed to even have him there with me. Seeing how he is a guy who really doesnt like to shop or go out with me when i have my moments of wanting to be pampered outside of our home. So I was VERY embarassed when we finally arrived at the place. For starters when we arrived the guy behind the desk asked me what I wanted done then he quoted me a price but when i finally sat down the lady that was sitting down to do my nails quoted me a different price and said to me that he didnt know what he was saying and he usually doesn't sit at the front desk. I told her that wasnt professional and maybe they need to only have people who know the business to be working in their salon. She then asked me again what I wanted but I was DISTRACTED by the mess laying in the MIDDLE of their DENGY floor I could hardly focus on what I actually came in their for. My boyfriend proceeded to ask them why was their inventory in the middle of their floor and it needed to be moved so no customers would trip and fall over it. But HONESTLY ..Inventory? I dont think so it looked like OLD PRODUCTS that needed to have been thrown AWAY along time ago...talk about OLD. As my boyfriend raised concerns to me getting my nails done in there. I was still trying to keep a smile on my face because i was really desperate to get my nails done because I had a meeting scheduled the next morning. So the lady in their asked me to pick out the color I wanted on my nails. When i got up to locate a nail polish man I was so PISSED OFF because their nail polish was freaking EVERYWHERE. I literally had to go to EVERY STATION in their to look at their nail polish selections because they didnt have it all sitting on the shelf where it was suppose to be instead nail polish was EVERY WHERE in that place and the stations looked like they hadn't been cleaned in MONTHS! One of the chicks that was getting her nails done told me "thats why she only brings her own nail polish because they never have what she wants and their's be everywhere" ...Talk about a mess I wouldnt recommend a dog in that place and A stray dog is to good for that dirty place. read more

I've only been here twice, but I swear I've spent a total of 4 hours in this place, and I've only ever had my lashes done! The time I had my lashes done I was a little nervous, simply b/c false lashes can end up looking a bit drag-queeny. My birthday party was that night, and I wanted to do something special, so I decided to have them done anyway. I told the technician that I wanted them to look natural, and they really did - I loved them! The second time I went with my best friend to get our brows done. It was a Saturday morning and the wait was CRAZY! By the time they called our numbers, I didn't even want my brows done anymore. I have been to this place a few times and the service is always horrible. As i do not wear fake nails or any gel i asked for a regular manicure to which the nail technician acted as if my manicure was waste of her time. She has an attitude the entire time and she messed up my nails which I made her redo. All in all they have bad attitudes and I hate giving them my money. My pedicure was also done very sloppily. So here is an update....I started trying this place again because they are one of the only two nail salons in the area with color powder and it is literally 1 minute from my house. I still haven't found a shop that I love for pedicures but they do an OK job. However; for nails....Cindy is a must. I love her! She is now the only one that touches my nails and takes the time out to actually listen to what you want and makes recommendations when needed. I've also heard other ladies say they love Kim but for me and all of my friends we go see Cindy when we go. Oh and she is off on Wednesdays and Sundays. read more

Came in today to get mink eyelashes. Spoke with the owner yesterday and she stated to come at 11. Not only did she come late 25 minutes late she also chose to service someone else prior to me and I had signed in. In addition the lady that the owner put prior to me was not ready to be serviced she still had to remove her own eyelashes before service can be preformed by the owner which takes time. Instead of then serving me since I was ready the owner attempted to have me wait even longer until the lady was done removing her old lashes and she serviced her. I will never come back! I could have easily had been done before the other client finished removing her older lash. Think smarter read more

My nail tech is Kim, I've been going there over 10 years and she is the ABSOLUTE BESTTTT!!! My rating is for the wait! If you have somewhere to be, do not go and expect to get right out! There is always a long wait, no matter what service you are going for and they don't take appointments. The service that you receive is worth the wait! I walk out with my nails and feet always on point, I have tried a few other salons only to be disappointed! Tip nails is really good, just don't go if your in a rush!! read more

Kim adds a lot more sunshine to my day. Although this nail salon doesn't have perfect reviews, Kim is my favorite nail technician. My nails lasts for more than 3 weeks. I love looking good, but I have to stretch my nail services a little longer than most. I love love love my nails everytime I leave from her station. Keep up the awesome work Kim! I get my lashes and brows done there. Lori and Traci are the absolute best in the area. I don;t get my nails done there because I was not happy with the quality of the nail techs work, coupled with the fact that they don't appear to clean their tables as I might like them to be cleaned. When I have gone in the morning, it is tolerable ... just as many other shops are. Keep in mind the nature of the business does not lend itself to "spit-shined-and-polished" on a daily basis. Acrylic sticks, as does paint and polish. You can wipe it down; however, you have to have some turpentine and a scraper to get it like I'd like it. I think the messiness is a tribute to the volume of business done. As I said earlier, for lashes and brows, TIP Nails "is it" for me. read more

I used to get my eyebrows done by Mindy but the past few times I had to settle for two different techs simply because she was "too busy and didn't make time". I waited dang near two hours yesterday when I should've drove to my old spot in greenbelt and got a pedi as well but unfortunately I had to endure or would've been late getting my daughter from school. I remember walking in the greenbelt nail salon while the tech was doing nails, mind you it was just as packed, but since I was only there for eyebrow waxing, I was out of there within ten mins and that's how it should be. OMG! I pass by this pass several times a week, and after 5 years without acrylic, I decided to give back in since nail polish does not last on natural nails more than 1 day without chipping. The guy Sam did my nails and he is The Worse!!! Mind you I got there at 7pm, there was only a couple clients, technicians and the salon said it closes at 8pm. I left at 8:45pm. The guy was rushing with me but then taking other clients in between. Like he did a whole pedicure, gel manicure, in between my service which was some bullsh*t! I told him I didn't like my nails nor the polish and he kept mumbling stuff like, "you come back, you come back next time, don't worry, I take care of you," etc... My nails looks pudgy over polished, with globs of polish on each nail, that make my nails look fat and deformed! I'm super disappointed at my $70 I spent!!! read more

My nails were pretty but the next day my skin on my hands began to peel. They obviously are not cleaning/sterilizing as they should.

Got my gel manicure here, clearly not one of their specialties. My nails were done on a Friday and had begun chipping by Sunday. The lady who serviced me (older lady with glasses) said she prefers doing nails for men. Was that because you aren't great at polishing and men don't need polish? Also got a mediocre pedicure from another lady who said she didn't have "time" to do my massage since they had others waiting. I felt extremely rushed and poorly serviced. The wait was 45 minutes and I was slapped with a $120 tab. Still scratching my head although I will never return. read more
