I came in for a manicure and pedicure on a whim and I'm so glad I did. I was actually planning to go to the nail salon across the street, but decided to stop in here instead, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The salon was very clean, relaxing, and had chill music playing throughout my visit. The massage chairs were amazing and even worked my lower back and glutes, which was a nice bonus. Gel pedicures start around $60, which I thought was reasonable for the experience. I also enjoyed the complimentary mimosa while being pampered. Linda did a great job on both my nails and toes, and I was very happy with the results. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and quality exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back! read more

I was in the area and had some time in between my schedule so I decided to stop in to get a gel fill in. There were no customers so I was able to be serviced immediately. The quality of my service was good. The price point was comparable to other nail shops. I would return if I was in the area again, but I'm not married to a nail tech like I am with my pedicure person so I will try out various nail shops to get my fill-ins. read more

Linda is excellent ...she starts your appointment on time and is a perfectionist. Only go here if you have time. They take appointments over the phone however, if there are walk-ins your appointment doesn't matter. Set an appointment, went, and they told use we had a 45 min wait. Huh? Very bad business!!!! read more

Had a walk in appt on Saturday. Great customer service and a good job overall. I only got a manicure and felt the stations were clean. The pedicures were being done in the back in smaller rooms of two or three seats I think? They offer drinks and snacks which is a nice perk. I haven't gotten manis during covid so not sure if salons are not doing massages or not. I took off one star as she applied the scrub and had me wash it off. No massage of any sort. read more

Being from out of town I was recommended by a friend in the area to go to Lifestyles Nail Bar. The people were friendly and accommodating even without an appointment on a Saturday during Labor Day Weekend. I was quickly sat and in and out within 45 minutes. I didn't feel rushed and very catered too. I enjoyed the time in this establishment and will add it to places to go when I am in the area again. read more

My regular was OOO today and I needed a fill after a whole month away! Desperate I tried the place close to home. Wasn't horrible but I have very high standards when it comes to my nails. I wanted them cut down a little as it had become hard to type fast. I had to stalk the lady ( won't give her name ) while she shaped my nails. Had to redo and tell her it was off a few times. Then she didn't buff my nails she buffed my skin which of course bruised. No apologies but kept touching it wiping off blood. Then came time to paint, she did 3 coats which to me requires more dry time but I must've bothered her.... I still took my extra try drying. I did like the sugar scrub at the end. Made my hands very soft. But no oil, no lotion.... I won't go back. It was the most stressful 45mins of my day! I don't understand how each nail salon has maybe 2 top techs and everyone else is subpar! I'm starting to think I need to learn for myself how to do my nails. It's just acrylic overlay! read more

They have unlicensed nail techs working there. While at the business, a state inspector came in and the guy who was doing my nails, along with another employee, ran out the back of the business to avoid the inspector due to being unlicensed. We were not serviced for at least 45 mins during the ordeal. Afterwards, I received only a small discount for the huge inconvenience and for being illegally serviced by an unlicensed nail tech. In addition to all of this, I included a pic of what my nails looked like the following day. They are misshaped and chipping. read more

The absolute worse nail service I've ever experience. I took my daughter here for a full set for her birthday. She came with a picture specific to what she wanted. After waiting an hour to get serviced she was finally seated what we thought was a competent nail technician however, we got everything but that. During her nail process, on roughly five occasions he stopped working on her nail to do other things. Never giving her his full undivided attention. That was issue number 1. Secondly, he cut her finger really bad, didn't acknowledge it, and didn't apologize for it. Finally, her nails were nothing like the picture she showed him which he assured her in the beginning that he could do. They were horrible looking and a week later they are now lifting. For $100, I expected more. read more

Called to make an appointment for a pedicure. Told, "we're not busy so come in now, you don't need an appointment." I arrive, sign in, and proceed to wait for 35 minutes. This is why I called ahead, geniuses. I got up and left, won't be returning. I can't stand a business that doesn't respect your time. read more

This was such a bad experience. It was my first try at this salon and it will definitely be my last. I really wanted to enjoy it and find a new place to be my usual mail spot. I had a get pedicure and acrylic fill. I chose the pink cosmo pedicure that claims to be 40 min., it was 20 min. though. My feet soaked in the water for 0 minutes and there was absolutely NO "work" done on my toenails. No cuticle remover, no removal of the cuticle no cleaning underneath none of that. She did file the nail very quickly, but none of them match in length, she didn't ask if I wanted them cut down or shape or anything. And the polish is ok at best. My feet looked WAY more pedicured before then they did after. After they looked like a home job. Then my nails. First let me say I noticed that they were asking everyone around me if they wanted wine or water, didn't ask me or the woman next to me a thing. It was like we were part of the conveyor belt. I showed the nail tech a picture of nails that had some design on them and said I wanted the color on my toes and the design on the nails. I'm not sure if that got lost in translation, but I received no designs just straight polish, but by this time I just want out of there and didn't trust her either. The shape is nothing like what I showed her, these are like daggers which I get is in style, but far off from the almond shape I asked for. My poor fingers kept getting cut by the drill on almost every finger. I would pull away and she would say sorry, but go right back at it. I told her it hurt and she completely ignored me. Hours later now they are super sore. The polish is uneven and was left on my skin- she didn't clean up the polish from my skin at all. I LOVED my nails when I went in, everything was perfect they just needed a fill and to be shortened a little- I HATE them now and will be trying to file them a bit tonight to make them decent. That's what I get for trying a new place I guess. It was $115 and I left a $10 tip, which I know was low, typically I would have given $10 for each service but honestly I thought $10 was generous and I'm actually mad I paid at all. I should've left. She saw the tip and immediately gave me the stank face. How disappointing this whole experience was. Beautiful salon and great location, I really wanted to like it. :( read more

Terrible. Was in the area and needed a quick mani + pedi. The technician did a horrible job painting my toes, to the point that I had to ask her to redo it. She agreed it was bad, and started over. Now my manicure was even worse! She used coarse drills on my nails and cut me in three different places. My hands burn SO bad from the cuts... I told her how bad it was and she just kept saying "sorry baby, it's ok". I was not happy and told them i would not be paying full price for either service and left. read more

I think the location is very nice, went to get a pedicure with my mother and was offered a 10% discount due to a promotion they're currently running. We had a private room and they also offer beverages although we declined due to covid. Only cons are the tech that did my pedi was a bit rough and cut my toe a bit and mask would hang under their nose. Other than that everyone is really sweet. read more

This was not the best manicure and pedicure I've had and the owner was rushing the nail tech which was awful in my opinion. The extra charges for what I consider a normal process of a pedicure was absolutely insane ie: removing dead skin is the entire purpose of a pedicure. Safe to say that was my 1st and final visit. read more

Kathy is my nail tech and there is NEVER an issue. She listens to my requests, she ensures satisfaction and creates art. I do love how my nails turned out but you don't have to compromise good customer service for good work. So no, I won't be leaving a 5 star review for him like he texted me after and asked.

Located in Capital Heights, at my first appointment, it was kind of hard to spot. Be aware of the parking, as some of the spots are assigned. Upon walking in, use the door on the right to access the nail salon. Appointments are made online, and Tenecia prefers that appointments are made at the half hour only. No problems there. Nice selection of colors to choose from, and the place is clean. I noticed that Tenecia takes the time to clean the bowl in between clients, which I totally dig. Also, she uses new new tools, like emery boards, and buffers for each person. My first appointment was a gel mani (with designs of course) and a pedi. Let me tell you, it was one of thee best pedicures that I have EVER had. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. I loved the gel manicure as well, because she actually does a manicure; you know soaks the hands, trims the cuticles, massage, and the like. She totally takes her time. She wasn't talkative, but I wasn't really looking for that. She came off as professional and cordial and that was perfectly acceptable in my book. He got an attitude when I asked him to clean a tool he grabbed from the nail station. I'm trying to catch a plane, not an infection from a botched pedicure! Short version: Don't go here. There are no licenses posted in accordance with state law. Sanitation practices remain suspect and the technician's level of ability and give a damn are in competition for last place. Their rewards system awards 1 point each visit. After 10 visits, you earn $10 off of your service. GTFOH, are you serious? Consider how much people spend each visit and it only benefits the shop and not the customer. Focused on the number of people service and not the quality of the service. I think we should see other people.

*sigh* I hate to see…read moretalented people with poor business skills. It's the little, manageable, correctable things that crush them in the end. Working sporadic days/hours, not having a formal way to book an appointment (playing text tag and waiting days for her to check her schedule and get back to me with a date/time she's free is unacceptable)... that's the quickest way to lose a customer. This is the era of SquareUp and similar apps.. I was going to recommend that she look into it, but during one of my appointments, another client beat me to it. Her reply was that she didn't want people to have that much access to her. But....it's. your. job. Why wouldn't you want clients to have access to you? Block off the times that you are unavailable and let your customers choose from there. Simple. It's not like we're trying to come over and hang out at your house. We're trying to give you our money. What's the problem? At one point, it took over 2 months to get an appointment. I tried to make an appointment before Thanksgiving and did not actually get it until the end of January. To be fair, she finally scheduled appointment for 6 weeks after my fill in, but got sick the morning of, and told me she would reschedule...but she never did. She also has no color palette for customers to check out, so instead we have to play a guessing game of 'What color do you want?'. In the 17 years that I've been getting my nails done, I have always determined what color I want by looking at a color palette, and it would save us both so much time if I could make that decision while she's doing my nails as opposed to trying to figure it out when she's ready to polish. I recommended that she get one several times, but she just shrugged off my suggestions. What's really frustrating about this whole process is that as great as my nails look after finally getting the appointment, the polish starts chipping within 48 hours. I'm not sure if it's because the polish is watered down, a problem with the UV lamp she uses, or maybe because she doesn't use base coat. I don't know. All I know is that rarely have I gone more than a week without my nails looking like I've had the polish for over a month. At one point, it was so bad that several of my nails were bare by the time I got to her for a repair. Not a fill-in: a repair in between fill-ins. The polish peeled off like the foil on a can of Pringles. If it's that hard to get a fill appointment, imagine how much harder it is to get an appointment for polish change. Instead, I have to go to one of my neighborhood nail salons and pay another $20 to $30 for a polish change (and *gasp* those salons actually offered color palettes, so I can actually see the polish colors I want! Go figure!). The last time she did my nails, one of them broke within the first 2 hours (and since I have evening appointments, there was no way I could go back and get it fixed because the salon was closed). The next day I had the chance to look at them in broad daylight and noticed that the acrylic was unusually thin, and that some of my nails did not have enough acrylic on the edges/corners (the sides of my natural nails were poking out from the underneath the acrylic.) No doubt, the girl is talented, but the quality and consistency is not there, and she's just not serious about her business... and that's really a shame. I've been wearing stiletto nails for about 5 years now and she has definitely done some of the best work I've had, in terms of nail shaping. However the juice is no longer worth the squeeze. There are too many Asian-owned nail salons that also do really good work, and I'm no longer willing to exert the extra effort to support the business of someone who doesn't value my business or my money or time enough to provide quality and reasonably accessible services.

Located in Capital Heights, at my first appointment, it was kind of hard to spot. Be aware of the parking, as some of the spots are assigned. Upon walking in, use the door on the right to access the nail salon. Appointments are made online, and Tenecia prefers that appointments are made at the half hour only. No problems there. Nice selection of colors to choose from, and the place is clean. I noticed that Tenecia takes the time to clean the bowl in between clients, which I totally dig. Also, she uses new new tools, like emery boards, and buffers for each person. My first appointment was a gel mani (with designs of course) and a pedi. Let me tell you, it was one of thee best pedicures that I have EVER had. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. I loved the gel manicure as well, because she actually does a manicure; you know soaks the hands, trims the cuticles, massage, and the like. She totally takes her time. My nails were shaped beautifully, and they actually grew! Woop! My only issue, is that my mani didn't last as long as I would have expected, but that could totally be me, because I'm super hard on my nails. Oh, another plus is that she totally accommodated me (in between clients) when I chipped my toe...see uber hard on my nails. The parking is very limited and the lot is kind of tight. There's a parking lot on the other side, so I parked there and walked the short distance over. The inside of the shop isn't very big. However, it wasn't crowded, so I think it wouldn't be a problem. Also I wasn't positive as to how to book nail designs, but Tenicia explained with no problem and now I know what to do when scheduling. Even with this, she was still able to accommodate me within my appointment time. I really appreciated that. I read a few reviews about Tenicia's attitude, but I didn't have an issue. She wasn't talkative, but I wasn't really looking for that. She came off as professional and cordial and that was perfectly acceptable in my book.
