However on my last visit, I noticed the husband just blowing his nose...no tissues, no napkins...scarfs hanker chefs nothing- just out into the air!! I was so disgusted!!! So here I am back to where I can RELAX and be comfortable with getting a pedicure... No germs flying around...just welcoming and friendly staff catering to us for our moment of self care. I can't believe I never reviewed my go-to spot! This is my nail salon. I've been coming here for well over 15 years, and even though I'll occasionally try somewhere else when my schedule doesn't line up, I always end up right back here. My nail tech, Lupe, is the absolute sweetest. We always catch up and laugh ("keke") whenever I'm in her chair, and she's the only person I trust with my feet. Seriously... nobody does my pedicures like Lupe. They recently moved into a new building, and it's beautiful. They're still putting the finishing touches on the renovations, but it's already a huge upgrade. One thing I especially love is that they have private service areas for clients like me who prefer a quieter, more relaxing experience instead of sitting in the middle of a crowded salon. This is my definition of self-care: sinking into one of their plush massage chairs, sipping on a mimosa, enjoying a piece of chocolate, and letting Lupe work her magic. Yes, they're a little pricier than some of the competition, but you get what you pay for. I was at another salon recently for over four hours and wasn't even offered a bottle of water. Anna had high reviews and my toes, nails, and brows look fine but she nicked my skin in 3 different places with that drill while doing my nails. I wouldn't use her again. No apologies. So I was serviced by Nancy for the first time and certainly a time was had. There was laughing, joking, talking, and she was very gentle and patient. There were drinks and snacks available as well. I found my new nail Tech - Jonathan. I booked a few times previously with other Techs - despite the negative reviews - but the location is convenient, so I risked it. During the previous visits, I faced language barriers and confusion about simple designs and the finished product would not be what I wanted, but it would be presentable. Yesterday, I decided to give them another chance. I searched Yelp, and saw that Jonathan was mentioned a few times, so I booked with him and I have no complaints. this is contact dermatitis, it's caused by unsanitary soaps, scrubs, utensils etc. No you are NOT allergic to acrylic as they will try to make you think. I've HAD acrylic for years and the one time I come to this nasty place I'm exposed to a health concern. don't waste your time money or insurance. while i did receive a refund it was NOT WORTH the time i'm taking to heal. Me and a couple of family came her for manicures and pedicures. The interior is nicely done. The front desk staff was welcoming. But the service was not consistent. The person who did my mom's service was really good. The person who did mine didn't understand questions nor requests I was making of him. The manager basically came over and completed my pedicure. During my pedicure I requested a new, I'm not sure what is called but it's like a sponge that scrubs the excess skin off the bottom of your feet. He did get a new one to use on me. However, after he used it he left it on the floor. I didn't think to take a picture of it. I also got my eyebrows cleaned up. This was also done by the manager. Further, my nails are lumpy and you can actually SEE BRUSH STROKES! When she wiped my hands with the hot towel there was a clump along with a long strand of hair on my hand YUCK I came here three weeks ago and had a great dip manicure from another nail tech. I really want to like this place but the service is EXTREMELY INCONSISTENT. My nails look worst coming out than they did going in My old salon went up in prices due to covid - I appreciate the $45 dip price but this honestly looks terrible. Ok I don't t know if they are cutting products but I had a full set on 6/19 by Monday middle finger gone Tuesday other middle finger gone went back on Friday 6/25 they charged me 10 bucks to replace(wow). Then the index finger pops off on Saturday one week of a fill and 3 nails gone. Now today a thumb popped off. Now I've never had a fill this bad where nails are popping off less than 3 days after service. I'm going to give them one more try but if my nails start popping off I'm NEVER going back bc this means you have changed your product to cut cost. He kept repeating I need to come in and pay for new nails because it's been too long since the original application. If that was the case, why did my original set only last 3 days? Black Women! We HAVE to stand in solidarity against these businesses who do not care for or even respect us! The OWNER called the police on my friend I was treating to a manicure because she was unhappy with the outcome of her nails (the tech didn't do what was requested) and we wanted to fix it or not pay for what was done if they couldn't. Do y'all know the owner sat there and called the police on us!!!!! Is this a standard practice when guests are unhappy with their service? He never once asked how could he fix it or try to find a solution. He only said "So it sounds like you don't want to pay, I'm calling the police". The police came and sat there looking dumbfounded that they were called away from their service bc of a BAD manicure! This is their solution to dealing with Black ppl. They use the police as their pawns. If it had been a white woman unhappy with her service the outcome would have been COMPLETELY different. My friend is a DOCTOR! We both have VERY well paying jobs and we weren't trying to get a single thing for free! We just wanted what we asked for. The police understood and left and you know what the owner did just to spite us? Sat there and removed the polish she had on her nails just so she couldn't leave with anything. Which was fine because it was ugly and not what she wanted, but it was his way of making sure he sent another big F you to us. We have got to stop patronizing businesses where we get no respect. I couldn't catch up with my trusted and very loved nail tech, Kim, so against my better judgment, I did a walk in with a random tech for a Pedi this afternoon at 3pm. I thought to myself "How bad could it be?" ...worse experience ever. I was too annoyed to get the tech's name but she rushed my pedicure like I was almost afraid of how fast she was moving that she would hurt me. She cut my big toe cuticle. Whenever I tried to tell her anything she cut me off by saying "okay okay okay". There was barely any communication, only pointing and tapping my legs. I'm also visibly 6 months pregnant wearing a body suit, she was not accommodating, and she put endless oil and lotion on the bottom of my feet without wiping it off. Im wearing jelly sandals. I almost fell when I put my shoes on and it was a hassle to get foam flip flops to go clean off my own feet in the bathroom!!!!! I just can't believe this was my experience and I'm pissed to have paid for a rushed, rude, painful and uncomfortable $55 pedicure. I've given this nail salon 3 tries before writing a review, and I just will not be returning. Only one tech was able to do a somewhat decent job, and this most recent and final visit was the nail on the coffin (all pun intended because only the dead could appreciate the horrible job done on my nails). Rushed pedicure, having to point out more than once to the tech corrections to be made, sloppy paint job, horrible filing leaving my nails mismatched...just the worst. I'd rather drive into Rockville and get my nails done and pay extra, than the 6 minutes it takes up the road to have this place have my nails look a mess for the next two weeks. I came in today and had an impromptu peppermint pedicure and a acrylic overlay done by the one and only Jonathan! I have been coming here for years and I finally could get him today I came in as a walk-in and lucked up! Jonathan is a premier tech his work is immaculate as well as he is very professional. He asked me what I wanted done and then before I could get it out his mouth he recommended coffin shape for my nails in which I was excited about to try it's like he knew what I was thinking. I didn't choose a color I let Jonathan do his thing And I tell you I'm not disappointed he has done a wonderful job! He explains the steps that he is doing next takes his time and give me the proper massage I think my legs damn near fell weak after he finished his massage lort it was amazing! His hot stone massages are wonderful as well as the scrub and the mask on my legs! I am actually a license nailed tech in Washington, DC and in the state of Maryland I still like to come and get a good pedicure and manicure every once in a while because I like the relaxation part and also because I like to stay up to par with what salons and new trends! I never mentioned this to Jonathan until the end of my services and I complimented him. Jonathan is absolutely welcoming and has wonderful customer service. My sister in law recommended this place. Its also in the same shopping center as my husband's barber shop. I'm literally getting a pedicure as I write this review and its amazing. I couldn't even wait until the service was finished. They follow all COVID-19 guidelines. My husband and I had a PRIVATE room to get our pedicure. My first reaction when walking in this shop was "Wow! This is nice". The shop was clean, the techs were super courteous and the ambiance was calming. You get your pedi done in a separate, dim lit room that may be two to a room. In addition to them having snacks throughout the salon, they have a full stocked wine bar. My tech Lisa worked so fast and she did a great job on my nails. Lisa also had all the tea lol. She talked my head off about the client before me and she spilled tea on herself. The pictures don't LIE!!! I came for a simple fill-in with a design. I initially asked for Rose when making the appointment as she was recommended. They never said she was off that day when making my appointment! I get there & the guy with the brownish hair on top of his head says he can do this. He couldn't!! He kept trying to buff & redo saying he couldn't get the line straight! He couldn't even polish. Look at my cuticle line. After 5 days the nail he replaces pops off. This was my go to spot for pedicures but, after today, I will NEVER set foot in this establishment again!!! A couple of weeks ago I went to get a pedicure and dip powder on my natural nails. I stopped using acrylic years ago because (as seen in the pictures) my natural nails are already long and healthy. I wish I got the name of the guy who did my dip powder set because he did an awesome job!! So today I went to get a filling and pedicure. The lady (didn't get her name) told me I would have to soak the current set off first. She brings me over to her stations and proceeds to pull out the electrical file. So I assumed that she was going to file it off instead since it was just a few layers of powder and not acrylic. I noticed as she filed my right hand that it felt a little tender but I didn't pay it any mind because I don't usually get my nails done. She then proceeds to my left hand and as she is filing my ring finger she cuts me. Naturally I pulled my hand away. She then proceeds to tell me that I got cut because I moved!! I WOULDN'T HAVE MOVED IF SHE DIDN'T CUT ME. This then prompts me to look at my right hand. My nails are jagged and thin. She didn't fully get the powder off my ring finger and pinky finger so she proceeds to pull out foil and pre soaked cotton swabs. When I ask what that is, she tells me it's alcohol. I notice that my finger is burning, so I ask again what it is and she tells me acetone. I proceed to pull the foil off and ask her to use a manual file to get the rest off. I explain that I'm displeased because my nails are now thin. As if this was supposed me make me happy, she starts telling me all the stuff she can do to make my nails appear thick again. I tell her that I'm not having her put anything over my nail that she just cut because I don't want an infection. At this point I was LIVID!! So I allowed her to remove the rest of powder off my pinky finger and left. Nails not done and feet not done. NEVER AGAIN!! read more

My eyelids were severely burned from getting an eyebrow wax. When I called in and spoke to the manager, he suggested that my skin was sensitive. It is not. I've been getting waxes for almost 10 years now. My skin is not sensitive, that wax was entirely too hot! Additionally, the young lady also removed a small mole above my eyelid.. that is one of the circles you see in the photos. This is unacceptable & management took no responsibility.
