I painted my own nails on Sunday. Today is Thursday... so about 5 days later and my own nails are perfect. No chips. Typing all the time and even played softball last night. Still holding up great. I got a manicure here and it lasted about two days. It was completely gone by 5 days. My pedicure is still going strong, as pedicures tend to do. Will I return? I like that it is within walking distance to my home. But I don't know. The lady seemed pissed when I didn't tip with cash. I've only ever been here twice. Once was amazing, they did the exact design I wanted. The second was horrific. It's my 21st birthday and my nails look awful. Don't get me wrong, they look fine from afar. I was cut during my pedicure and my gel manicure is now starting to bubble up! I called twice, they said they couldn't believe me so I had to come in. I returned with my mother and the woman said everything was fine because she couldn't see anything wrong. They refused a refund and a chance to fix my nails. also, make sure you double check pricing! Not bad... I got a pedicure and manicure here in April. The mani/pedi was $32 (give or take a dollar). Service was okay. I was surprised that the woman doing my toes pulled out one of those heel peeler tools (resembles a cheese slicer). I was silently freaking out because it honestly looks like my cheese slicer. Why would I want it to be used on my heels? I was about to refuse it but it turned out that my heels weren't that crusty. Hah! I believe in CA they nail salons banned them but I've still come across some salons still using them. The guy who did my manicure did a nice job. I was trying to get a more natural color for my nails and recommended another color because the one I picked out would look "dirty" (his words, not mine). The owners and techs are very friendly and meticulous with their work. I opted for a French manicure ($5 extra) and was quite pleased with the result. The owner made conversation with me and made sure that I was happy with the manicure at every step. I originally wanted a mint or tiffany blue-like color, but there were none so make sure to bring your own bottle if you'd like a trendier color. They are also short-staffed and only have 6 pedicure chairs, so I had to wait about 20 minutes before I was seated. I highly recommend her for pedicures (cleanings with french or color) and manis (cleanings with color only). If you call ahead, she'll wait for you. Went recently and here's the breakdown: Pedi + mani $34 French mani tips $5 Flower design on big toes $6 Eyebrow wax $10 Total $55 You can't add the tip to CC so BRING CASH! Throughout the service they'll try to sell you add-ons like a lip wax or a spa pedi, but if you say "no" it's not uncomfortable; they're not overly aggressive. It's an extremely casual neighborhood joint. For example, techs will eat snacks on the floor, gossip with each other, and sit and file their own nails next to you. But this is pretty normal for neighborhood nail salons. So don't walk in expecting Red Door. Good magazine selection to read during pedis. Note: I saw other girls doing airbrush tips for their acrylics. I've never done that here so I can't say if it looks good; I'm just FYI-ing it's a service they provide. An honest review! Manicures: They always do a great job on my nails. It's usually quiet and peaceful when I go. I also HATE thick acrylics and they seem to be one of the few places that actually listen to me when I tell them to make sure my acrylics aren't thick. My nails never chip (I usually get an acrylic fill with gel polish or gel polish, no acrylics) and they last beautifully. They always pay attention to detail, take their time time and they also have a nice array of gel colors to choose from. Ask for Carolyn (1st station on the left) or Anne (2nd station on the right). Pedicures: They also do great pedicures. They focus more the on nails (as they should ), so if you're one of those people who go for the massage or who need a little more time focusing on dead skin or pesky ingrowns, just ask them to spend a little more time on the things that are important to you (or just get the spa pedicure package). Cleanliness: Everything always appears clean and I have never had any issues. However, if there were an area for improvement, I'd like to see tools come out of freshly sanitized packaging. Their tools are sanitized in the UV machine, but it gives me piece of mind when I go to nail salons that open a freshly sanitized set of tools in front of me. Eyebrows: Ask for Carolyn or Anne! Since so moved to Arlington a year ago I've been to dozens of nail salons and either I received poor service or price gauging (I know so sad), I'm so happy to be treated like a valued customer! As I flight attendant my hands are always noticed, performing the safety demo or serving beverages and food in first class so a professional appearance is very important to me. From the day I literally walked into the salon the owners and staff welcomed my daughter and I with a smile! So refreshing considering our previous outings, thank you for such wonderful service! BTW my husband loves pedicures but since we left Korea he's been dissatisfied with lukewarm water, and 5 minute foot massages. I wish I can give them zero stars. This place is the typical run of the mill neighborhood nail shop where you come for your no frills in and out mani pedi. Nothing spectacular about the place, but its not bad either. I've been to Touche a few times before while running errands in this neck of the woods. They are on a face recognition basis with me. I went one evening after work to get a mani/pedi. It came time to pay. I handed them my debit card. Unfortunately for me Bank of America Fraud Detection services froze my card due to suspicious activity, and it was the only card I had with me. I walked over to the BoA ATM in the same plaza, but I couldn't even use the ATM because of the freeze on the account. And it was after work, so all branches were closed. It was an FML kind of moment. I understand that for the nail shop, they don't care about my situation, and just want their payment. But what could I do when my only card on hand was frozen? I thought of two things, 1 - I can come back tomorrow and pay you (my word is good - although I understand for a business, they run the high risk of not getting paid) OR 2 - Luckily I had my checkbook on hand, and offered to write them a check for the full amount, plus tax, tip and inconvenience, whatever. They put their foot down and reiterated their no check policy. Well then, what do you want me to do?! This was their recommendation - come back and pay tomorrow BUT as a guarantee leave my Movado watch. WTF?!?! My jaw dropped. You really think I am going to hand over my Movado watch for a routine $30 mani/pedi?! Its a sorta pricey watch, but for me it has extremely high sentimental value, a very special birthday present. It offends me and disgusts me they would even make the request. Funny thing, I felt them scanning me up and down and all of my belongings. They didn't ask for my Longchamp purse as hostage, they didn't as for the Ferragamo wallet, no...they spotted the Movado, and of course asked for the most expensive thing as a guarantee. The acetone fumes must be making you f****king crazy. They kept giving me a really hard time and impudently demanded they wouldn't accept anything else but my Movado. They weren't open to any other solution, and no way in hell I am leaving my watch. I did not care anymore, so I wrote them a check anyway and told them if they don't cash it, I'll be back tomorrow to pay up the $30. They knew how shameful they were being, they knew they were being shady fks, because they just let me walk out without saying a word. I returned the next day with cash, got my check back and left still very disturbed. I understand as a business, the worst is when the customer does not pay. I was completely apologetic, and it was a difficult situation to be in. I offered the best remedial solution that I could, offer to write a check plus extra for the inconvenience. I was shocked at how impudently they kept pressing for the Movado and closed-minded to other solutions. I am extremely offended and will no longer be returning. As for BoA fraud detection service.. as annoying as it is, they freeze my account on every suspicious activity, but sometimes it actually does serve a good - someone tried to buy baby formula online. Stopped in here today because it was close to the house and my usual spot further down the street was packed!!! I was in need for a pedi and mani so I decided to give it a try since it said under new management. The women here are all nice and welcoming. Ann did my pedi and gel mani. She took her time, was careful and detailed. For the gel mani and pedi it's $58, around the average price in the area. My friend and I went to eat pho in the restaurant right next door and decided to stop by here randomly for a shellac manicure. The person who did my nails completely missed painting the edges and the staff was very unfriendly. We asked them before we got our nails done if we could pay gratuity with a credit card since neither of us had cash. They said it was fine. After we were done and swiped our cards, we noticed that there was no blank for a tip. We asked how we could leave anything if there was no space. One of the workers looked at us very exasperatedly and said that we were supposed to tell them how much tip to include before they swiped the cards. I went in after work for a quick "clean up" in which i specified I ONLY wanted UNDER my eyebrows waxed. Why? because eyebrows don't actually grow in a waxed line across your forehead... Yup. Yung is absolutely amazing and so are many of the others. Im a regular here because they are reasonably priced and they always take care of me, Yung especially. I always get a full set and Yung throws in a manicure to clean up those nasty dry cuticles for a few extra bucks. Of course she'll suggest it if she thinks you need it, but she's not the type to try to charge you for services she doesn't think you need. And that's what tops it off! Kim is the best! She uses a secret method that allows nail tips to stick longer and more durably. May sting a little but worth it. She also reinforces the nail with an extra amount of acrylic. It will be a bit tougher to take the nail off but if you use your hands a lot, this is the place to go and she is the woman to see. She is also very sociable and one of the most delightful people that has done my nails. People are known to like to talk about themselves and to learn about other people and ideas as well. I think what a lot of technicians fail to realize is that in order to build loyalty with a customer, you need to build a relationship and rapport. I did not have a good experience at this nail salon. My nail tech was Caroline. She was very rude. As she started on my nails, she began "huffing and puffing" like she was irritated. I asked her if today had been a long day she responded no and that the sun was in her eyes. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and believed her. I had to give a lot of direction for a simple full set with solid coloring. She did provide me with a proper manicure and this salon just overall seemed extremely different than most. Lastly I also received a pedicure. If I wasn't on a schedule I would have left and went to a different salon. There is a woman here who is fantastic. Her name is Minh and she always does an excellent job. The apparent manager of this establishment is a total jerk. He is rude to customers and barks orders at the women who work there. He did my manicure one time and argued with me over the length that I wanted my nails. He then proceeded to file them completely crooked and gave me attitude when I pointed out to him that they were crooked. In fact, he informed me that my fingers were crooked and that was the problem. Since he couldn't contemplate straightening them I asked him to round them instead to which he replied "NOW YOU WANT THEM ROUND?!!" and proceed to explain to me multiple times how he's been doing this for decades. Well, you suck at your job dude.. and you're a jerk. The ONLY reason I will EVER return to this location is to meet with Minh.. and because of how the manager treats anybody and everybody I do so with hesitation and am looking for another reliable and affordable place to go. read more

Seriously the absolute worst exeperience ever! The ladies were super friendly and spoke decent English and that was about it. But the nails were cut so short that she clipped my skin twice on both mani and pedi. Then to save time (even though I was the ONLY customer) she put the mask on my legs, wrapped the hot towels and started doing my mani in the chair. Her work on nails is mediocre and my arms are getting tired from the awkward position. Then I asked her to remove the towels in my legs as I was shivering it was so cold. People were pleasant but this is one of the worst manicures I've ever had. I came in on Thursday night after calling to get the price for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I was quoted $30 and $26, respectively. The experience: water for pedi was kind of cold and both treatments took a really long time, The equipment and instruments were old and needed to be replaced. Although I did agree to a paraffin add-on, I ended up with a bill that was a few bucks higher than I'd expected based on the price list. Nonetheless, I let it slide and I tipped very generously since I was in the holiday spirit. By the next night I had polish peeling from my thumb and now, not even 5 days in, I have chips and peeling on multiple nails, and my cuticles are ragged and painful. Not cool. I considered going back to get them to fix my manicure, but don't trust this place not to further botch my hands. Nice, polite people, but the worst manicure and pedicure I've had. They use strange, (cost cutting) methods in the processes. For example, I've never had my cuticles sawed down with an emery board. Most places soak, use a cuticle cream, and gently push them back. For $60, I expected comfortable, time appropriate methods. They rushed through both the mani and the pedi. There was no callous polishing and for some reason, no gel polish is available for your toes. Very strange, very rushed, very poor results. read more
