That was more than five years ago and I can't even imagine going back to my old, unmanicured ways now! LOL Nikki is an extremely talented nail artist who has attracted other amazing nail artists to join her boutique--the growth of her business has been incredible to witness. It is always a good vibe whenever I'm there. Since I've been a regular with Nikki, my nails have become stronger and grow faster. I credit this largely to the care she shows my nails during manicures as well as the helpful tips she has given me over the years. And it doesn't hurt that her nail art is always on point! Also, the boutique itself has such a fun, relaxing, and chill vibe. Felt like I was on a fabulous little retreat from my life and then got to walk out looking like I had my shit together because my nails were fire. So glad I found this place. My story is that I never get my nails done, but wanted to treat myself for new years. I've been going to Nikki to get my nails done at Nail Vida Boutique for 2 years now! Top things I love about her and the shop: - She is METICULOUS with removal and my nails have never been healthier. She is extremely gentle with nails and with cuticles. I know a lot of people complain about gel manicures hurting their natural nails, but it's because other places rush the removal process. Not an issue here, my nails grow longer when I come here regularly - I've had other nail techs borderline shame me for picking at my cuticles--Nikki doesn't do that, she's sympathetic and understanding - She's great at picking colors that work best with different skintones and color combinations. I come to her with designs but I let her take the wheel with the details and it works out best that way - I love talking to her! She's a part of my routine! You spend a lot of time in the chair and it's nice to visit with someone you look forward to seeing for your service - Designs are amazing and I feel so happy every time I look at my nails. I have nothing but positive things to share about my experience with Nikki today. For months I've been trying to find a time on Nikki's calendar and this weekend I finally found a full 90 minute slot and today was the day! First off she rents a really clean and cheerful space on Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. It was incredibly easy to find and conveniently located. She took her time refilling my acrylic over my natural nails and carefully executed a stiletto shape, removed my cuticles with a tiny implement and went over nail design options and color schemes with me. I really felt comfortable and listened to and she took charge and surprised me pleasantly with ideas I'd never tried before. I love the shape of my nails and the beautiful black panther designs she hand painted for me. She's easy to talk to and open to suggestions for art designs so that you receive the nail design that you envisioned. I loved my manicure! I wanted longer nails without acrylics (my natural nails are stubby and constantly break). I got Apres soft gel extensions, they attach to your natural nails and soak off just like gel. Beautiful nails, great conversation, and it took less time than anticipated (about 1.5 hours).
