The service is mediocre. I enjoyed having my nails done I just feel that it's more about the experience then then anything. It felt cheap considering it wasn't cheap to have these services done , the vibes were distant and weird. The older man put nail polish remover in the polish and shook it to make it go further instead of allowing us to choose another color. I just think that's not good business practice and thought I'd share our experience with this salon. On a side note I personally had my done by Emily she is a college student currently working at the salon and I will say she did a phenomenal job on my nails She only takes appointments tho!! read more

Best manicures around! I stopped in here one night near closing because I noticed the salon wasn't super busy. (In the past, I've always skipped over it because you can see through the front that almost every chair is full, and I'm generally not good about getting appt) I had a French manicure w/SNS, and it was the best I've ever had in my life, in Vestavia or anywhere! It lasted a full month looking perfect. Thought maybe it was just a fluke-- they weren't busy and the person really took their time and that's why it lasted... nope, have had 2 other manicures here and both times I have been astonished at how well they hold up. I've been to this nail shop once before for acrylic and said I would never return however, it was convenient and they had no wait. I went in and sat right down. The guy there helped me chose a color and started on my nails right away. He took so much pride in doing my Gel Manicure. (35$.) They turned out great and this visit was completely opposite of my last visit. UPDATE: I last said that I would never get acrylics here but I went back and did it anyways. The older guy did them for me and they were terrible. I should have fully examined them before I left. The nails were super thin and the very next day one broke in half and my real nail broke as well. I went back to him to get them fixed but he tried to soak acetone on my nail after I told him my real nail was broken and it was burning. He yelled at me and told me he had to get the polish off. I took the polish off myself then he tried to file my sore nail. At this point I was in so much pain I told him let me go and I got up to walk out. Excellent mani-pedi for this first timer at Nail Vogue. The technicians squeezed us in on a saturday afternoon with barely any wait. The pedicure work especially was excellent, with a nice massage, wonderful cuticle work and careful throughout. Run. Run as fast as you can. That's really all that I have to say. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I made an appointment for 2 mani/pedis and sat there for 45 minutes before anyone was able to help us. Those were the most awkward 45 minutes, too - no music, no TV, just 5 strangers among 3 staff members. The staff was awkward, barely spoke English. We asked for a square round manicure, we got what we called "dinosaur teeth." They were shaped like blunted almonds. The pedicures weren't any better - there were toenails in the pedicure tank when she went to fill it up. When it came time to empty it, she punched a hole in the liner and let the water fill the tub, making it completely useless. My sister's toenail turned black after this visit, and 4 weeks later we are just waiting for it to fall off. Honestly, I could go on and on... this is maybe half of the issues that we had - the bottom line is it was one of the most expensive and most awkward visits to the nail salon I've ever had. The best pedicures I've ever had came from Nail Vogue. They have a steady flow of customers and at times, there is quite of a wait. But it is worth it considering the quality of work. They are meticulous with the cuticles and nail clippings. They do a great job applying the razor for rough skin. And the foot and leg rub is really nice! My pedicures have lasted up to 3 weeks. Only staffed by two people. Be prepared to wait forever without them giving you the courtesy of a wait time! I unfortunately came in too close to closing time to go somewhere else. This is not how I wanted to spend my extra time this evening. Update! I'm eating my words entirely with this one, I had to wait about thirty mins but learned why, because they are INCREDIBLY thorough! This is one of the best mani/pedis I've ever gotten. And the two people working tonight are the owners, a sweet older couple. And they smiled and laughed the whole time. Nail Vogue is my favorite nail salon in Birmingham. They always do exactly the kind of nails that I ask for and are always so kind. For real, don't be dissuaded by some of the other reviews. I have always been treated incredibly well here and they are such sweethearts. It takes them a little while to get to everyone since it is just the three of them but they do a very good job and want to give you good service. Price for a pedicure is good: $25 for regular pedicure, $33 for deluxe pedicure. $58 for gel mani-pedi. However, if you don't have a whole afternoon to wait around for someone to do the service, you might as well not go. Every time I've been I have had to wait at LEAST 30 mins, which is too much time for me. I don't understand why they don't keep it staffed more than 3 employees at a time, but there have definitely been people leave the waiting area because they couldn't stay and wait for forever. The minute I said I was doing regular polish on top of my acrylics, I got treated SO poorly. Every single nail is a different shape, but correcting him made things worse so I just kept my mouth closed and could not believe how I was being treated. Best placw to get mani and pedi. I have horribly short bitten nails, i went to Nail Vogue a few times for pedicures and the service was wonderful. I just went to get acrylic with my stubby nails and the guy (i think name is Tot) did an amazing job with what he had to work with! He waa a lottle rough and i had a few nicks in my fingers aroind the cuticle but other than that i always leave pleased and happy. The price is reasonable and fair . I will continue to go here as long as i am in thus area. read more

I'd been going to Holly there as her pedicure work is the best I've ever seen. But, they have some incredible problem with appointments - I called one afternoon & made an appointment for 5:30 that day. When I got there I had to wait - not a problem. Was eventually put in a chair & kept waiting....40 MINUTES later I got up to leave and the man nearest the door acted like I was crazy (he is the person who I made the appointment with.....he even repeated the time and that the appointment was for that day) I just said I feel terribly ignorant to have wasted my time waiting. So I visited this salon a couple of times and on my second visit I decided to get a pedicure as well as a refill gel manicure. I asked for a regular pedi but the older lady suggest I get a gel pedi so that it would last longer. She stated that the price is 58.00. I agreed. So she started on the pedi and I asked if she needed for me to choose my gel polish color for my toenails, she said "no" we can use regular polish since toes aren't subjected to oil and the ordinary things that fingernails endure each day. So we finished , there was no UV light used or anything. I was thinking ok, we'll maybe it work likes my gel application at home. The more that I though about it the I realized that I had been taken for granted. So I spoke with others that had received a gel pedicure from other salons , I confirmed with the Alabama Board of Cosmetology that using a light for curing a gel nail was standard. So I call them today and spoke with the old man, he told me they don't have gel nails and that she charged me for gel nails 35.00 and a regular pedicure. I told him that the pricing board has a 58.00 charge posted for a gel manicure and pedicure. They didn't do anything to correct this and I informed him that I was filing a formal complain with the board and the BBB. read more
