I called to see if walk-ins are welcome, they are, but when I said I'd be there in an hour they wrote me on the schedule. When I arrived I was greeted and only waited a short time until my service began. My technician was more than thorough, efficient and kind. She spent much time massaging my feet and lower legs (this was heavenly), then she applied not 2 but 3 coats of polish!! I went here yesterday and had a bad experience getting my nails done, didn't realize how bad it was until I went outside where it was bright and saw the blotchy uneven manicure, painted all over my cuticles. I ended up leaving a review on google to warn others about my experience and not even 24 hours later, my review was deleted which first of all is very deceiving to new clients as well as super unprofessional. Had to get my nails done in a pinch before a wedding, and this place did an amazing job! Super friendly, worked with me to get the perfect shape and color, and the place was clean and relaxing. I love all the fish tanks and birds and they added an nice background noise to an otherwise quiet salon. While I was there, I noticed that they knew a lot of their customers by name, so if you're a local, this seems like a great place to go to be remembered. This is my favorite nail salon! The staff is so friendly and engaging. They do really nice work and their rates are excellent. I have been going here for years and have been helped by many of the technicians. I have never been disappointed. I do not live in Nashua and have several salons near my home, but I am happy to travel farther to visit Hung and the ladies because I know I will be happy with the result. I decided to go to Nails 2000 last month solely because my usual nail salon was undergoing a remodel. I simply wanted to remove the acrylic nails I had on at the time and get a gel mani after. The store was clean and the technicians were professional. However, I question some of their practices. Let me preface my story with explaining how acrylic nails are typically removed: typically, your nails would be soaked in acetone for a few minutes and then the loosened acrylic is drilled or filed off. This process continues until you are left with only nail. When I went to Nails 2000, my technician took a new nail tip and slid it underneath the acrylic, ripping the full nail off. Not only was this extremely uncomfortable, but she managed to rip of parts of my actual nail with the acrylic. She continued the mani as she normally would have and used the communal nail polish brushes on my actively bleeding finger. I am not sick or anything like that, but that begs the question of who else are they doing this to? And what if someone else contaminates a bottle of communal nail polish. I left that day in pain, and $40 in the hole for a gel mani that had several air bubbles in it. Will not be returning read more

I had Helen and she was awesome, she put so much care into shaping my nails and didn't get irritated with me even though I can be a little picky. This was probably the worst manicure I have ever had. I decided to go here to get a French polish for a wedding I was attending later that day, as it was close to my hotel and seemed to have reasonable reviews, guess I should have read them more closely. Things started off well when I got seated right away and the lady was very friendly. She did a fine job of the filing but then cut my finger when doing the cuticle removal. Then comes the polish... She seemed very rushed, even though there were no customers waiting. She did a reasonable job with the white tips but whatever top coat she used was old and gloopy. There were tiny air bubbles in the polish when it dried (which unfortunately I didn't really notice until afterwards) and there were big blobs of polish here and there. I accidentally smudged one of my nails, and she didn't seem to mind fixing it but did a really sloppy job. After she was done she sat down with the other staff to get back to playing Candy Crush and never asked if I was happy with the manicure. When I looked closely at my nails later they just looked a mess and I could have done better myself. They also chipped within a day and it took forever to remove the polish when I got home! As for the other reviews saying that the place was really clean, I'd probably disagree, but then again I might be spoiled by the really strict health codes where I live in NC. They also have three cages full of birds, which at first I thought was cute, but then realized that the chirping was actually kind of annoying and the birds probably made the place unsanitary. In summary, I would never recommend or go back to this place and regret giving them my $20. I certainly shouldn't have tipped them even a couple of bucks. read more

This used to be where I would go to get my nails done, usually every other week for a fill. I never really liked the place to be honest, but I went there because it was between work and home. During my manicures I had noticed more and more there were things about the place that made me decide to take my business somewhere else. 1. The people that work there all talk in their native language to each other and it makes things feel a bit awkward 2. They rush and even tho it's nice to get in and out, I notice my nails especially when one particular lady does them, they come out slanted at the tips. Not that anyone would notice until I pointed it out, but when you pay for them to be square and you can't stop staring at the slant on all of them after you leave, it makes you feel like you wasted your money. I have had to file them myself when I got home which looks better but now the polish is gone on the tips. 3. They file (drill) this gap at the base of your nail so thick that you have no choice but to go back for another fill after a week and a half, and if you wait for it to grow out for too long they will tell you that you need a new set! (Money grab) 4. And speaking of money grab, the fill costs $25, and they always push the gel polish on me which is $10 more!! Ouch! And then when you leave and hand them your debit card they expect a $5 or more tip, and will come right out and ask you if you have cash for the tip instead of putting it on the card with the payment! As far as sanitation, I'm not so sure there is much of that either. If you don't have a box on the wall to the left when you walk in with your own nail file and such inside (which I have never seen anyone use) then they use the same drill file tips, nail clippers, the hand duster and regular nail files on you that they have used on everyone else. They also use a hand towel on their work station that is used for everyone else also. All the nail clippings and the the dust from the acrylics when they are filing the nails gets on this towel and all they do is shake it off on the floor after they are done with your nails and everyone else's. And when you get gel put on your nails, they have you put your hands inside the table that you are at with the fluorescent lights to dry the polish, and it is very nasty. It's all gross feeling when you put your hands in there and they really should clean them after each person uses them! They have caked on yuck stuff where you sit your hands, and you can't help but feel it under your hands while your nails dry. It's disgusting! I have found a place that is in Manchester that I am extremely happy with, and definitely worth the drive. Their fills last 3-4 weeks before you have to go and have them done again, and they look beautiful!! And they always come out straight like they should be, not slanted. I always get gel, and my nails always look healthy afterwards (which is a-typical for sure). Good conversation and everyone is always seemingly having fun. I went with a friend last week and they seemed to be rushing through everything. I got a mani and pedi and they started the mani at the mani table and finished it in the pedi chair. Felt rushed even though no one was waiting. I just got a regular mani but by the nights end the polish already started to wear away. Pedi was ok but my feet were still dry even though I paid the 5 dollars for callous removal. I've had much better service elsewhere where my feet are soft and smooth. My friend got acrylic nails with American French and they turned a weird tan-yellowish color on vacation. It didn't look nice. Her pedi job was awful. Nails were cut crooked. She said the girl was constantly watching the clock like she had to be somewhere else soon. My guy was nice, though and the birds were entertaining to watch. I was referred to this nail shop by a colleague. Selection of OPI shellac products are the best I have seen in this area, which is why I went back for a second time. Customer service from my tech was descent, but it is the rude man, who I believe is the owner, that got under my skin on both visits. I will put up with mediocre customer service if the skill set is good. My nail tech was ok. This guy loves to say things in their native language that makes the nail techs uncomfortable. This time while she was applying acrylic on a broken nail of mine he had something to say. Whatever it was caused her to rush the job and poorly shape the nail. To add to my annoyance as my nails were drying she moved on to the next person, not finishing the shellac manicure. I have hair under the polish on a finger and the previous polish not fully removed. I won't be returning I thought it was a one off on my first visit but this second time was the final visit. read more

I find their workmanship to be very good. I've tried every place on Amherst Street and I like this place for my pedicure. Very friendly, and the polish lasts FOREVER.... Seriously, i have to get it redone when my nails have grown out to the point that the polish has moved up. No chipping or rubbing away. Don't get offered the wine any more... don't know if they've stopped that service or not... But they do a good job and are very professional but friendly. read more

I've been going to this salon for almost a year now and I've had some bad experiences with the staff being rude and talking me out of the initial color I came in to get on my acrylics. This experience has been the worst though. The acrylics I got don't look bad, but after having them on for around a week I've noticed some sort of fungus growing in the cuticle of my thumb. I am absolutely LIVID. They don't do anything to prep the nails like a normal, professional nail salon would do so. They don't do anything with the cuticles and they don't really do much nail care in general. I'm no longer going to spend my hard earned money at Nails 2000. Left this place today practically in tears... had my acrylics on for quite some time and I decided my nails could use a break so I was getting them taken off and a gel manicure. I sit down the woman starts taking off my acrylics with another nail tip (like what they glue on for acrylics to make them long). And she cuts me so bad my nail started bleeding, like she cut my actual nail after I had told her the technique she was using HURT. Anyways, she tried to get me to soak it and it was burning it hurt so bad. So then she just wraps it and continued with the other ones, she cut them all so short like down to the brim. One of them actually hurts from being too short. I say forget the gel manicure at that point I just wanted to get out of there, so she goes "10 dollars please" I'm like are you serious like you cut me and didn't even get t finish taking the acrylic off that nail. So I give her my card and sign I didn't tip OBVIOUSLY, she looked at me like she expected one lmao yeah ok.... so now I have a bleeding nail that is still covered in acrylic and another nail that hurts because she cut it too short. Don't know what her name was but she's the one with the glasses, never even said sorry. Not to mention I'm like a regular at that salon and they still act like they've never seen me a day in their lives. I just moved to Nashua and saw this salon right down the street from my apartment so after checking the yelp reviews, and finding so many positive ones, I had to go check for myself. Well, needless to say, I've found my new nail salon! After beating up my hands and feet packing, moving, and unpacking, Hung had his work cut out for himself when he did my pedicure. He was very good! He took care of my bag and sandals and made sure that I was comfortable before he got to work on my claws (for lack of a better word). He took his time and was very engaging. I appreciate that. Sometimes I just feel rushed and herded along but not this time. The work he did was excellent. Then I was off to Anna, who is just as meticulous and engaging, for a matching gel manicure (the only way for me). I felt pampered and I loved it! The prices were very reasonable as well. I have been going here for about 4 years now and never once had a bad experience. I was reading some of the negative reviews about this place and I really cant believe what I read. I have never have had any one be rude to me I have only ever been treated with kindness and respect. Despite what people have written this salon is exceptionally clean. I enjoy hearing the canaries sing and the fish tanks dont bother me the tanks and the cages have always looked cleaned. I never write reviews but I would give 0 stars if I could!!! I went in for the first time and wanted an acrylic fill. The lady I got did not say one word to me the whole time. She didn't even ask what I wanted she just started drilling my nails.. after a few minutes I showed her a picture of he shape I wanted and she just looked and nodded. The shake I ended up with was NOTHING like the picture. They were all uneven, thick and bumpy! Every single nail she drilled was burning hot! She even nicked me a couple times and didn't even say sorry!!!!!! Also I swear she didn't even know what she was doing because I've gotten sooo many fills (elsewhere) and have never seen anyone do then the way she did. She also took so long I was there for an hour and half. They looked awful. Well what do you know, one week later and two nails already crack and broke off. It is very clean and nice there. Also there's a cage with canaries in there which adds a nice touch. But... the woman who did my pedicure was not nice at all. I'd say - even rude. Now I have a few bruises on my legs after the legs' massage. And the pedicure is not done well.My toenails - their shape- look different on both feet. Had to buff it at home myself again.
